The drive towards Reed's home seemed like an easy one as the car rolled its wheels down the busy road until they suddenly encountered a stuck in the midst of cars.

Reed, who seemed to be meditating with his eyes closed, suddenly snapped them open only to see what was going on because of the distraction he had encountered.

“What’s going on? Is this how it has always been?” Reed asked, coldly as he watched the other cars horn so loudly, also oblivious of what was going on.

“It's probably those street launders” The driver said in frustration.

Wanting to know what suddenly caused the traffic, his subconscious made way to the very front only for him to see that the first car was delayed because they were currently being robbed and a desperate cry for help.

Whosoever wanted to escape would be gunned down.

Soon enough, he heard a loud gunshot that scared the driver into trembling.

“I… was mistaken… it's those robbers”

Anger surged within him because Reed knew they were only wasting his time. Having spent time in prison and knowing it was his first time out after three years, he could not afford to spend any more time in the car, temporarily imprisoned again.

Then, he turned to leave when the driver exclaimed in fear, wondering what to do at that instant.

“You can't afford to leave. They will kill you! These people are brutal”

In the past, whenever something like this occured, he would have pestered the driver to find another route to drive back because he could not afford to be killed judging by how timid he was.

Now, he owed no one any explanation as to what he wanted to do.

With a cold scoff, he had the door opened and walked to the front, ignoring the desperate plea from the other owners of the car who already got a hint of what was going on to get back inside in order for his life to be saved.

“Is this all you have, huh?” The robbers asked furiously, too occupied not to see him as they used their raffles to hit a woman who was on her knees as tears streamed down her face with her hands joined together as if she was begging them.

His irritation increased when he saw that the young woman's bodyguard had been gunned down. Now, he realized the reason for the gunshot earlier.

Judging from her clothes and the type of car she drove, she didn't seem ordinary. On a closer look, Reed finally discovered her identity.

She was the newly appointed CEO of E&G he had always seen in the prison room, the city's leading manufacturing wine company. Joanna Smith.

“I promise you that's all I have. Please let me go. My uncle needs…”

“Shut the crap. How can you, a young rich lady of this city we see every single day on TV, flaunting your wealth claim to have just ten thousand bucks? Huh?”

“I'm telling you I didn't come with my purse. I was in a rush. My uncle …”

She said in a panic while the robber interrupted,

“Then, you'll die!” He thundered and pointed the gun at her, wanting to pull the trigger.

“No, please!” Joana screamed out as her face held horror, not wanting to die like her useless bodyguard who could not even protect her and continued as she hurriedly brought out something from her phone pad.

“Fine, I have my business card. You can come to my office. I'll attend to you and give you money. Please, let us go. I beg you!”

Only then did one of them laugh before the rest followed suit.

Reed assumed that was the leader of the gang because he dressed more rough and different than the rest.

He crossed his arms with a sneer because it was too hard to believe this silly action was the reason innocent citizens were held up in a temporary placement.

“So you can hand us over to the cops? Come on, we aren't fools. Don't you think so?”

He asked with his eyes bulging from their sockets and leaned towards the woman who moved backwards while still on her knees with fear laced on her face.

“No, I promise, I won't do that. You have my word!” She said and turned to the car, silently hoping that nothing would go wrong.

“Please hang in there” She muttered in despair.

However, that moment, the leader's gaze dropped as he noticed her slightly opened cleavage.

Then, he giggled as the thought of how beautiful she would look down there.

His eyes held passion as he looked at the woman who still had a pleading look on her face.

“How about you let the three of us have a taste of you? Only then will we let you go. You have it all- the fame, beauty, money. Sex shouldn't mean anything to you, right?”

Another said while she shook her head as her eyes widened in fear.

“Please don't hurt me!” She said, shivering.

“Well, if you can't be useful for us in cash, you can be useful in kind. Hold her!” The leader said immediately while Joanna screamed out in pain, wriggling in their arms.

However, they were too strong for her because it did not take a minute before they overpowered her.

Just when Reed seemed like he could not take the drama that seemed to become boring anymore, his voice thundered, “What the hell is going on here?”

Suddenly, it felt as if someone was watching him but no matter how much he turned, he did not seem to see anyone. “My imaginations… that sick, strange man doesn't even know where I work. All he does it bluff!” He said with a sneer as he hurriedly went ahead to help his workers pack the loads since it felt as if they were wasting so much time. Inside his exquisite workplace were expensive furnitures and materials that he didn't want to leave behind and so, he'd ordered that every single piece of items including the slightest pin be moved. As for the building, he'd made sure to have it sold the previous night which wasn't difficult for him since most people wanted his space which was situated at the outskirts of the city. “How about this, sir? We can't take it along” Fabian asked, holding a piece of i

“Your boss?” Fabian asked with a stutter as he looked at Reed. It was that moment he realized how extremely bad he just made the situation become. “Yes, you idiot! And don't you ever refer to him as an ordinary person or else, you will cease to be my assistant!” But how could someone like this man be his boss? Didn't he know how embarrassing this situation seemed?Fabian asked. Then, he watched his boss’s lips curve into a light smile as he focused on the man. Something he hadn't don't to him for years. “Sir… do you know me?” He asked again. “I know who you are. You work directly for the gang Ruckus that go about stealing from people. I thought I told him and his gangs to stop but they didn't. Now, I wonder how exactly I should punish you for scamming people”A cold shiver ran down Mario's spine the moment he heard that. Almost immediately, a thought ocuured to Fabian. If these silly people he called guards could not defeat Reed, he would call his boss who would definitely show up with about fifty million squads. Then, Fabian turned around. His heart skipped multiple beats at once when he realized that people were staring at him. He knew that if he did not hurriedly defeat this man, words would go to many places that he had probably lost his sense of reasoning and could not stand a pauper! At once, he dialled his bosss’ contact with mixed reactions. He knew his boss would tell and tackle him because he was not able to get a man below his status down. At least, that was better than there people who held him in high esteem judge him!“Hello, Sir Mario!” Sir Mario? That sounded very familiar! Reed thought as he took a closer glance on the Ruby as if he had not seen it before. However, he was only trying to check if it was not contaminated during the process of snatching it from him by Fabian. Intentio

“He better be taught a lesson that this isn't a calibre of his people!” Anna replied with contempt. At the other end of the hall was Reed. Within him, he was being calculative. He knew that these people could not stand a chance with him when it came to power. However, something bothered him. Among the men they sent over to fight him was a particularl man he was not sure he could contend with in power because he did not have the inner depth energy to fight him because of how drained he was. In one of the teachings of Xavier, he'd warned him never to fight off people he was not sure because it not only would drain him, it could take so long before he got his powers restored back. Then, Reed smiled coldly at the thought of something. His fingers fisted almost immediately. If he could not fight him with his energy, he definitely could manipulate his mind using the Quarter’s energy. At once, he completely compelled his mind under a special spell using his eyes while the man he thought

“How did I not see the beauty in this?” A cold stern looking man asked as he observed the natural ruby. For a start, he was known as Fabian- the greatest naturalist’s assistant. They went about gathering a lot of natural valuables and craft them into something else- more like fake to sell to rich people. However, they were too naive to understand that whatever he and his boss sold were just not original and hence, they took the original ones to themselves. On seeing the treasure in Reed's hands, he could not help but want it. At first, he'd called the person who auctioned the natural ruby. However, the man claimed to have sold the last piece to the bidder earlier who turned out to be Reed. Hence, he could not let go of it. Fabian was sure that if he brought the ruby to his boss, there would be great reward for him. After all, he and his boss did not seem to be on good terms for a while now because they had internal issues. “Boy, let me have this. I will pay you a million dollars”
