31 Wolf and Fox~
Drake and Eve stood back to back, holding up their chipped and corroded swords. Tremors ran through their arms, having defended the continuous onslaught full-on. The first four gators they had killed earlier were dwarves compared to the second wave of monsters that surrounded them. Somehow the duo had incapacitated five more gandr-gators.The fight had taken a toll on both level 50+ players. Their HP and MP had been halved. The legendary-tier swords, Almace and Heartspan, were on the verge of fracturing through the spines. Yet, the gandr-gator numbers kept getting replenished. The smart thing to do was to escape. To survive. However, the team was enveloped. The reptilian monsters were fast enough to catch fleeing targets. That was a risk Drake was not willing to take.Eve and the Ace could find an exit route if they pushed themselves. 33 The Storm~
| Concord City || Planet G*****a || An Undisclosed Location |Major Vic James darted across the management floor of Providence headquarters, his two assistants, Matt and Lou, in tow. He hated that there was no elevator access to the area. There were only two chambers on the floor- the Director's and the Assistant Director's offices. The Director was never in his office. Providence was basically run by the Assistant Director, Dr. Jack Chrysalis. The genius scientist had a DimPort, a portal travel device fueled by God Formula equations. There had never been a need for elevators as both Director and Asst Director had their teleportation devices. What enraged Vic James was that the rest of the staff had to climb the stairs and then walk across a fifty-foot-long corridor. That was because- the Asst. Director kept his device in silent mode most of the time."Sir!" Matt spoke up. "Did they go rogue? What are our available options now?"James had cold sweat across his brow, despite the cold

Walking into Jormungandr’s dominion meant inevitable death.“Piper?”“Tell me.” “We are all forced down to the ground by some invisible power!” Noah said, biting the dust. “The rookies have passed out. 37 Dawn After Dusk~
Noah was on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean. The sun was overhead. Far off on the horizon, sparkling against the sunlight, he could see a belt of lush green land—a sprawling country. Noah figured there would be fresh, potable water. His throat was parched. He needed a drink desperately.Instinctively, he jumped into the water and began swimming across. In no time, a shiver of sharks surrounded him. They lunged at him underwater, tearing his limbs to pieces.Noah woke up with a start. As he tried to get up, a caring hand pushed him down."Shh, It's okay. It was just a dream. You're safe now."Noah blinked his eyes to see Eve's pretty face looming over him. She was in plain clothes and not in battle gear. Her hair was carelessly tied up. She looked sleep-deprived and yet beautiful as ever. Noah realized his head was on Eve's lap. They were on a lounge bed. Eve cupped his right cheek and looked at him with affection. "It's all right.""Where are we?" Noah mumbled."We are at on
38 NIGHTMARE CITY Arc
The city square was the most happening place in Troth, especially in the morning hours. It was an extensive public area with lush-green parks, live fountains, colorful gardens, and cobbled paths. Around every corner, food vendors and merchants were perched, selling eatables, refreshments, and trinkets to passersby. The city square was perhaps the only place in Troth, not rudely interrupted by skyscrapers. You could quickly lose track of time and spend an entire day there.Piper and Noah sat across from each other at a rectangular park table. A small fountain sparkled near them. The sun was pleasant and the temperature mild."Nom Nom."Piper was busy with a foot-long hot dog, which he nibbled at greedily. "Stop making that annoying noise," Noah said with a cringe. "Don't cyborgs get fat due to overeating?" "Sure, we do, man. There are fat cyborgs around every corner. It depends on which organs they have replaced. My entire digestive system is artificial. Therefore, Mr. Lovelord, I ca

| City Watch HQ |[ Troth City || Planet G*****a |The Fellowship members waited outside a hundred-foot tall tower. "Whoa, so this is the headquarters of Troth City Watch!" Nadja cried out enthusiastically. "I've always wanted to be invited in since I was a kid.""You still seem to live in your childhood," Skylar scoffed. "What's so cool about the City Watch, huh?""What's NOT cool about them? Imagine going on patrol every night! Fighting crime on the streets! Rescuing damsels in distress! Defeating villains in one-on-one fights! Using your catchphrase as you throw them in prison!""Are you still reading those tacky web toons?""Oh! So even you have heard of the SENTINEL OF LIGHT?!" Nadja droned on. "The renegade City Watch Inspector. Villains tremble at his mention. Common folks rejoice at his arrival. He wields an adamantine staff-"Nadja looked around and realized that the others had moved on, leaving him behind."Wait for me!"A young constable was waiting by the tower entrance.
40 The Stakeout~
The night was eerily lit by the four moons of G*****a. Galos, Tela, Plena, and Egel hung in the east, close to each other, like the petals of a flower. Galos, the largest and farthest moon, was the brightest. Ancient folk tales of G*****a sung that a radiant Galos brought misfortune. The older generations of the planet believed that the four moons were sibling gods and goddesses. Tela, Plena, and Egel were the sisters, and Galos was the elder brother. When the latter was in his prime in the sky, war and strife arose in the lands. Therefore, old folks prayed to the three sisters to convince their brother to simmer down. A chilly breeze blew from the northern desert. It was miraculous that a green city had flourished in the middle of nowhere. To Troth's west border lay the Zanzibar forests, Licht, and Loch lake. The outland deserts bounded the East, North, and South borders. The closest city was Concord, over a thousand miles away via the trunk road.Noah's team staked out on the terr
