Chapter 11
The other lady, who was in the car, volunteered to check for the ten in her handbag, but Louisiana yelled at her not to. The two ladies stared at her, terrified. The game had specifically instructed the players to limit themselves to one stranger per player.    "I want her to give me the money," Louisiana insisted, pointing at the first woman. "She is the one that said I was a bad mother so it's only fair she gives me the two dollars," she responded in a more subdued tone after realizing she was frightening the two women.    "Get out of the car," she ordered.   "I beg your pardon?" the woman asked.

Chapter 12
Morning came and the players woke up to a map with twelve states heightened in red from the previous five. Seven more joined the red color: Tennessee, Hawaii, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, Vermont, Indiana, and Virginia while the majority maintained the white color. However, they noted that Texas was in green, which was odd. They had no idea why. Most of them were tempted to ask but kept their curiosity to themselves. There was a lot of shit going around for them to care about one odd color. It was obvious that twelve were out of the game, killed by the organization, and they could only imagine how many innocent people had to die for the remaining 38 players to be alive. Their phones beeped, and two more states, Delaware and Massachusetts, popped up in red, confusing the players. They b

Chapter 13
Pennsylvania arrived in Montana geared to proceed to the next game: He was so focused on his mission that not once did he stop to reconsider the life he was about to end. He had no remorse. Somehow, he believed Acer's sermons about the cruel world that swallowed anyone who was not willing to play dirty and spill blood. He was a father who was just trying to cross the line for his daughter. Lines that a lot of people of all walks of life crossed every day without caring about the consequences. He booked a motel and quickly texted Susie of his arrival, who was very ecstatic and all dressed up. She could not believe that he was giving her a chance and flew for four hours just to have a date with her.  She dressed up in her expensive pink dress that she wa

Chapter 14
At the moment Pennsylvania was the first and only one that proceeded to the next game. Unlike the previous two tasks that saw contestants proceeding simultaneously, game three appeared to be straining on the contestants. A lot of them were having difficulties with calling their exes. The game was too personal and the organizers had strategically put it into the game in hopes of opening old wounds.   To their surprise, Pennsylvania completed his task earlier when he had to board a plane, unlike most of the other contestants that had their exes living in the same state, which showed how difficult it was for the contestants to get rid of their exes. It was not like everyone always ended things on a bad note or that the ex was the bad guy in the relat

Chapter 15
The night was falling and only two players were in and it was mainly due to the fact that not everyone was lucky enough to have ended things on a good note with their exes, and the casualties for game three began dropping in. Players like Wyoming and Mississippi who were playing for their mothers also had another thing in common; they were both jerks that had no clue how to treat a woman. They had multiple ex-girlfriends who they treated like shit. All their ex-girlfriend had nothing nice to say about them.  The second Acer read the third game out, they knew they were both doomed. Wyoming was the worst off; he had no idea where to begin or who to call, let alone if they would pick up the phone. What was worse was the fact that he couldn't even remember

Chapter 16
The cameras turned to New Jersey, where the second player who had no ex was assigned to go on a date with the man who caused the accident that took away the love of his life. The man was very excited when he got the call from New Jersey. He had not expected it. All the efforts he had made in the past to ask for forgiveness were failures. He immediately dropped everything he was doing the second he hung up the phone. New Jersey was not very thrilled about facing the man he termed a monster. As much as he was seeking vengeance and destroying the monster who had stolen his love, the truth was that she would not return even if he died. He was just thankful that he

Chapter 17
Acer went through her tally sheets for game three; a total of twenty-three players made it to game four; eleven were dead, while two were yet to play. The two were Texas and Louisiana.  The two women were delaying her sleep. She wanted a long rest. Staring at various screens all day was tiring and draining. What made the day-long was the fact that the game had taken more hours than the previous two. She could only hope the fourth game was not as personal as the third one. She stared at the two women who did not seem to be taking any steps to proceed to the following games. What she did not want was for another player to have games in hand. She swore she was going to go against her bosses and get rid of the two bi**tches. Read more
Chapter 18
Day 4 came and Acer woke up early intending to catch up with whether the two ladies had caught up with the rest of the players. To her disappointment, only Louisiana had played and proceeded to the next level, while Taxes showed no sign of playing and was busy making an early breakfast for herself and her daughter. She grinded her teeth in frustration. Being behind on one game was not a big deal, but two was not to be tolerated. She quickly picked up her phone and dialed the organizer's line, with the intention of making them understand why Texas was to be dealt with immediately. She was sure there was a way they would put a time limit on the games, forcing everyone to play or else get eliminated.  Read more
Chapter 19
Acer began counting backward while breathing in and out. It was a calming technique she had developed since she was a child. She was so enraged that she let Texas get on her nerves, something that only a few people managed to do.    She grabbed her other phone and dialed her boss's line.   "We need to kill that bi**tch, I swear she is up to something!"   "Calm down, Acer. Prepare yourself for the fourth game. Texas will soon be out of the game," he stated and hung up on her.    Acer couldn't believe the disrespect, her boss denied giving her the time she needed to explain her theory. She was

Chapter 20
The pledgers were all in cheers, clapping for Washington's success and quick execution. They applauded his tactic of choosing bad people as his targets, and they were all impressed with the approach he used to smuggle the candy out of the shop. He seemed to be a pro at shoplifting. Some began to believe he was going to make it until the last game with such skills. On top of that, the contestants were not as slow as they were in Game Three, which was a recipe for a fast and good show.  For unknown reasons that she could not explain, Acer smiled when Washington proceeded to the fifth game. She never pledged or gambled on any players. But it was safe to say Washington was her favorite, while Texas was her least favorite. Texas had picked up the call and listened to game four instructions but chose not to show any signs of playing. Acer's skin crawled as she watched her.
