A father and a son
I can't say that the relationship between me and my son is normal. I, Cliff Belmont, have a rather strange relationship with my own son. I don't know how to put it to word. Both me and my wife were plain terrified of our own son. The son that we gave birth to came to haunt us.I was really happy when I got the news that my wife had become pregnant. It was a day when I danced with joy after going home. I was young. I was hoping for a daughter however my wife wanted a son. In the end, the doctor told us that it's a son. I was happy either way.We decided on a name. Clive, it's a name that was kinda stuck to my mind. And my son was born. It wasn't a good situation. Due to some complications, my son was delivered 12 weeks before the delivery date. It was a very critical time.My son was on the brink of death. I didn't want my first child to die. I prayed. Although I had never prayed to any god before, I prayed desperately. And my son survived. Although he needed special care.Due to bei
Hereafter, everything starts anew
The last thing I remember is the emptiness around me. I am drifting through the vast empty space. I can feel the cold on my skin. I can feel the heat on my skin. I, Clive Belmont, have broken free. Of the bonds I had made without thinking. Wiping out everyone's memories of me even my parents', I left the planet. Our journey continued for a long time.We traveled to many places, met many people, experienced many things both good and bad, I think I am done. As I had initially planned, I am attaining peace. For me, it would be absolute loneliness. And what is lonelier than space? I discarded everything in my possession, nullified all of my contracts and broke my ties with Her.The one who is responsible for everything. She called herself System, I gave her the name, Samantha. However neither was correct. She was neither. I am truly alone, drifting through space.I don't know where I might end up but this is better than living among humans.I am still a human. Whilst I have become someth
Faced with my deeds
I am being taken somewhere. On the way I asked about this planet. Who would have thought that I would end up where I began from? I cross my fingers. Because Amaryllis is apparently their mother goddess. And I don't think there is any other planet named Amaryllis in this universe. We reached our destination. It's at the end of the long corridor. This building sure is long. "Go on. There are a few people waiting for you." (Nia) Nia smiled at me and pushed the door. Her smile is a bit concerning. It has a hint of wickedness into it. I go in. Of course I am still sitting on the wheelchair with my hands cuffed. Nia just pushed me in and closed the door. My wheelchair came to a standstill in front of a chair. I see someone sitting on it. Chills ran down my spine. I started sweating. "Welcome back, master." In front me, sits an unparalleled beauty with whom I am all too acquainted. Her black hair which has a violet radiance to it is shining as brilliantly as ever. She hasn't change
Sallying forth the night city
The story my dad told us was as I had expected. However something bothers me. He mentioned that I started acting strange when I became 9. I still can't remember it. On the other hand Trevor is rolling on the ground with his face covered. "It's no use. You actually acted like that back then. That is something I vaguely remember. What I clearly remember was Gwen's smirk after that."He stopped rolling. I guess he still thinks that his sister is a good girl who is always good at everything. That wasn't the case for me.I could see her as nothing but an ignorant and happy go lucky girl. She liked to scheme a lot."Samantha, do you remember what happened when I was 9?" "I do. Want me to tell you?" (Samantha)"You still can't remember?" (Dad)"Yeah. Seems like I can't. Tell me, Samantha." "Long story short, you had begun your training. As a harbinger, you need to be trained from a young age. The first training is experiencing death. However your birth pretty much did that part. The next
Those who move in the dark
I thought that I wouldn't have to come out again. Anyway, this is someone reporting. My identity does not matter. I thought this would be a good chance to describe everyone from an outside perspective. In the last chapter, Clive learned a bit about his childhood from his father. Kind of deepened their bond and hopefully made a new neutral ally.Well, Trevor isn't even counted as an ally. But whatever. In the end, Clive made a ball of light and shot it to the heavens. He programmed the ball to cause as much mischief as possible before it runs out. Clive wanted to just play a prank on the gods. But his calculations were a bit off. It turned into quite the mess. Here is the full story. The ball upon passing through the clouds, tore through a membrane. It was a divine barrier which separated the heavens and the mortal realm. The ball tore through the barrier and headed straight for the king's castle. Breaching the barrier caused the guards to become active. They all confronted the enemy
The damage report
Last night was fun in a way. Me, dad and Trevor had a talk. I can't say much about Trevor but I think my relationship with dad might have become a bit better. We returned home last night and fell asleep quickly. I don't think anyone noticed that we were gone. Because we were stealthy. I woke up and found myself on the couch. This is the third night, probably as I have already forgotten how many days have passed since I came here? I stretch my body. I see Hazel sitting opposite of me. "Good morning, Hazel." I am in a good mood. So I greeted her with a smile on my face. However that did not seem to be working. Hazel was scowling. Is she in a bad mood? Did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed?"What's wrong, Hazel? You don't look too happy." "Master, kindly do look to your right." (Hazel)I still don't understand what she means. For the time being, let's just look. And I find someone. I think this has happened before. But why is it always a girl?A petite young girl is lying nex
Sudden feelings
I had to spend an hour explaining everything. It was one grueling hour. Fay and Fiona were probably the most surprised. Fay did not faint but Fiona did become somewhat hysteric. I introduced the newborn spirit to Doris, who also is a spirit, to get some more information. What Doris said was nothing too special. She is technically a spirit but her birth was not natural. An extremely strong catalyst sped up her birth. She is a true mutation. Anyway, a new name is in order. I am tired of thinking of names. Why do I have to pick a name all of the time? Samantha, pick a good name for her?(Why should I? You are like her father. Shouldn't you be giving her the name?)If you are using that logic then you are like her mother. It's a dual effort. You have to do your part as well. A silence came in reply. What happened? Samantha, you there? (You IDIOTTTT!!!!)A loud scream resounded in my mind. It didn't affect my ears but my mind did take some damage. Why did she have to shout?(The reas
His motives
(Hazel POV) Our journey began. It has been a while at that too. We gained new members. Expanded our reach and became better than our previous selves. I can clearly remember the first day I met my master. Clive was his name. He was an oddball. He was the only human left on our home planet. But he did not despair. He merrily wandered around with me in tow. I joined him in his adventures and became the first one of his party. And we increased in number. Two became four and then five and then nine. That's how it began. I was content with how everything was. I did not try to make anything too complicated. However my master was a man who did the opposite of what he said. He said that he wanted peace. I was fine with a peaceful life. But he plunged the entire world into chaos. He fought everyone head on and won. He triumphed over an army which outnumbered him. Astronomically so. I was worried. Not just me. His family was worried. He cared for everyone in his party like any family mem
A lesson for life or not!
(Hazel POV)After all these years, master has not changed. Not even a bit. Spouting gloomy nonsense about death and stuff, he is looking satisfied. However he may not know that his wish will not be fulfilled. In this small log cabin, there are two beds, a table, two chairs, and some cooking utensils. The fireplace has some wood stacked next to it and that's about it. I don't see any clothes or stuff like that. This is my basic observation. I was too shocked to even notice these. But I took a few deep breaths and calmed down. I reminded myself that master has this habit. He is seated on a rocking chair which is swaying back and forth. The frosty haired girl, Aylin, that's what master called her, is doing something. I mean, she has a virtual keyboard in front of her but no display. Suddenly, three cups appeared. "Let's have a drink. Due to my intestines failing, I can't handle anything too much. This is just plain herb tea. I hope you like it." (Master)He said and took one cup. Ayl
In the end, what was his motive?
(Hazel POV)Even after seeing everything through my own eyes and witnessing everything firsthand, I am unable to make anything out of it. It seems that my mind still cannot keep up with master. His thinking is just too difficult me to understand.I even asked for opinions from everyone. Seems that they have the same opinion as me. We are all back to the cabin. Everyone has taken a seat. We have made a circle. It's easier to look at everyone this way. The newborn planet spirit is also seated with us."And I have decided what to name her? Her name shall be Gaia." (Master)Wasn't Gaia this planet's name? Why is he naming her that?"Master, I believe that name already belonged to someone else." (Amaryllis)"I know what you are implying. But you know, she is technically the same spirit." (Master)Master said something that would have been pretty shocking if it was the me from before. However, I too have witnessed and caused some outrageous occurrences. I won't be surprised that easily.Th
