Chapter 1
Chapter 1
On that day everything changed. The people I knew, all died.
As a matter of fact, everyone died except me.
I, Clive Belmont, am the only person alive on this entire planet.
I didn't get to watch the bombardment. I was mining for resources.
So when I got to the surface, I was greeted with a scene that could be said hell.
Scorched earth and rubbles. The city I knew was nowhere to be seen. Neither the people.
I stood alone. On that pile of rubbles, I stood still, laughing.
Many would say that I am abnormal. Abnormal would be kind of them. Freak, psycho, weird, inhuman, monster; I have been called all of this in just my 17 years of life.
And look, everyone who called me those, died.
I alone am alive. Now a certain question arises.
What should I do? What do I do? Should I take revenge on those who killed everyone? Should I sulk that everyone is dead? Should I grieve their deaths?
But to be honest, I am not doing any of those.
Think about it, they wiped out all of humanity in just an hour.
Would I be able to something against them?
The answer is a big NO.
I was not attached to them either. I was always met with fear and hatred.
Even my parents hated me. So I cannot say that I feel anything. I am far too apathetic.
So I should prioritize my own survival. Repopulating the whole planet is impossible as I am a male and no female is left.
Again, I am not the least bit interested in that.
I had one simple dream. It was to have plain peace.
Laying on a grass field, basking in the sun as the air caresses my entire body, was my dream.
But most of this planet is polluted. Even this small piece of habitable land was on the verge of contamination.
I gave up on that dream. But now I have found a chance.
So I will just do that. But to do so, I have to survive.
This place is done for. No matter where I look, I only see rubbles. This place which was a bustling town even just a while ago, has turned into a destroyed ruin.
This place reeks of blood and there are bodies scattered everywhere.
A sane person would have gone mad.
Areeehh. This is weird. I should be scared of this sight. But I have no problem looking at the mangled and burnt bodies of people.
I don't feel anything even after looking at them. Have I gone insane?
But there's no one around to answer for me. Maybe I have. Or I was insane from the very beginning.
Let's stop with the monologues and start working.
Saying that, I started walking. I should first see if my house is still around or not.
The town is called Daedalus. It was named after a mythical smith.
This was a mining town and was famous for its crafts.
Emphasis on was. Because it is no longer. Roughly 10 hours have passed since the attack.
It should be burning but the flames went out.
When I returned, I saw burn marks and scorched land. But no fire was there.
What kind of technology was used to annihilate humanity? It makes me shiver with excitement.
I want to see that. I am now walking to my house. But the streets are burnt. It's hard to walk like that.
But no matter how I look only places with people were attacked.
Like they were tracking humans. So I was in the mines and was saved. But then I look to left where an underground shopping mall used to be.
It is thoroughly destroyed. That means that just being underground won't save you.
Perhaps there are other conditions. While thinking of all these things, I arrived at my home.
It isn't that damaged. Meaning, no humans were present here during the attack. My parents must have been at work.
I guess this is luck as well. My things are in one piece. I can properly prepare and leave here.
I enter the house and went straight to my room.
Took a few necessary things but don't need money.
All humanity is destroyed. No doubt about that. So I won't need money. Then I left.
I should go to kitchen and salvage some food.
I would need it for the journey. I did that.
And now time to leave this place. I have lived here my entire life. But I feel nothing that could remotely be said as sorrow.
Probably because of the treatment I got.
Anyway, I should be happy that those attackers destroyed everything.
A normal person would go mad if faced with loneliness. But I have been lonely. And in my lonesomeness I grew up and got accustomed to it.
It won't matter. I exit the house and pay my respects for the dead for one last time.
I am determined to travel around the world. This place was the last place to shelter humans.
Other continents are too polluted. But that was 100 years ago.
It's time to discover. I feel rather energetic about what's to come.
Wish me luck. Though I say that, I alone am left.
So here begins my journey. The only human left will go around the world and see the world. Maybe I can even meet the attackers.
They can come back to look at the situation. But I have to be vigilant too. They would probably attack me as well.
Reminding myself I leave the city and journey towards north where the capital is.

(Fay)"I believe we are headed towards the market but that doesn't look like the market which sells vegetables." (Hazel)"We are going to a general store. See, that shop over there." (Fay)Fay points to a shop just a little away from them. The signboard says "Pablo's General Store". "Hmm, that

Spirit Harvester Calm before the storm
After Gwen left, I received a message from Aera. It seems that they are ready. I replied that I will be back soon. But I didn't teleport to the house. I just got up and started walking. I can't put my finger around it but I have a weird feeling. Ever since talking to Gwen, this hazy and weird feeling has been building up in my mind. I really want to cuss my heart out. I want to cuss so bad that I am kinda losing my mind. As I walk through the street, I notice that people are looking at me. I don't know why. And when I got home, I opened the door. I walked in and saw everyone. At first they were just staring at me but soon the mood changed. "I am back…why are you all looking at me like that?" I am puzzled. What's happening? "Honey, you might want to put her down." (Aura) "Put who down? From where?" I look to my side to find a pair of legs hanging down. And I try to touch whoever it is on my shoulders. "Since when were you up there?" "When you started walking, I guess. Yo

Spirit Harvester Jolted awake
I am usually a calm person. Yes, that's what I am. But today feels a bit different. I left with my dad because the ladies had some things to discuss I would say. As the only two men, we should not bother them. I just signaled my dad and we left. That much was fine. But, when I came to Ms. Pablo's shop, I felt giddy. I even blurted out that I am becoming a big brother. Return to the present time. I suddenly got the chills. I look to my sides and find dad on one side and Ms. Pablo in front. I can only laugh bitterly. Ms. Pablo is giving me a warm look. Dad is wryly looking at me. "I guess I got a bit too excited." I try to follow up my blunder. "No no, it's perfectly normal. You might be happy to get a sibling." (Ms. Pablo) I don't know what to say. I just tried to wriggle my way out of that situation. I am not used to that kind and compassionate gaze. I escaped from the shop with my father. "I messed up big time." "No, it's probably fine." (Dad) We walk through the tow

Spirit Harvester In the end, what was his motive?
(Hazel POV)Even after seeing everything through my own eyes and witnessing everything firsthand, I am unable to make anything out of it. It seems that my mind still cannot keep up with master. His thinking is just too difficult me to understand.I even asked for opinions from everyone. Seems that they have the same opinion as me. We are all back to the cabin. Everyone has taken a seat. We have made a circle. It's easier to look at everyone this way. The newborn planet spirit is also seated with us."And I have decided what to name her? Her name shall be Gaia." (Master)Wasn't Gaia this planet's name? Why is he naming her that?"Master, I believe that name already belonged to someone else." (Amaryllis)"I know what you are implying. But you know, she is technically the same spirit." (Master)Master said something that would have been pretty shocking if it was the me from before. However, I too have witnessed and caused some outrageous occurrences. I won't be surprised that easily.Th

Spirit Harvester A lesson for life or not!
(Hazel POV)After all these years, master has not changed. Not even a bit. Spouting gloomy nonsense about death and stuff, he is looking satisfied. However he may not know that his wish will not be fulfilled. In this small log cabin, there are two beds, a table, two chairs, and some cooking utensils. The fireplace has some wood stacked next to it and that's about it. I don't see any clothes or stuff like that. This is my basic observation. I was too shocked to even notice these. But I took a few deep breaths and calmed down. I reminded myself that master has this habit. He is seated on a rocking chair which is swaying back and forth. The frosty haired girl, Aylin, that's what master called her, is doing something. I mean, she has a virtual keyboard in front of her but no display. Suddenly, three cups appeared. "Let's have a drink. Due to my intestines failing, I can't handle anything too much. This is just plain herb tea. I hope you like it." (Master)He said and took one cup. Ayl
