“Mom, why is Aiden married to big sis?” Hannah asks, putting on the headband they just got from shopping. “Because she loves him?”“That can't be possible. If big sis really loves Aiden, they'd have had a child by now.” “That's for them to decide, honey. Some couples get married for six years and decide not to have kids yet.” “But, mom, you gave birth to Bryan two months after you got married to dad and you gave birth to big sis five months later.” Cold sweat covers Mrs Lincoln all of a sudden. “Do you like the clothes we bought? I love the red one the most.” “Mom, don't change the topic. Was big sis born prematurely?” “Don't use that word, honey.” “Was that the case? She was put in an incubator?” “Yes,” Mrs Lincoln says quickly to change the topic. “Maybe that is why she is beautiful, mom. I have your hair but she has wavy hair longer than both of us, maybe it was because of the incub

Wesley doesn't say anything. Does that mean Aiden didn't do what he told him to do? That son of a bitch! And he told all that lies just to cover Aiden up. Where exactly did Aiden go that night? He has to find out and use it against the idiot. There is no free thing in this world. ****Two days later, Aiden finally gets the chance to go see the only person that seems to hold the key to getting his sister's whereabouts. Hannah has just stepped out to see a friend down the street ana Bryan left in a hurry some minutes ago after getting his mother's credit card. Aiden rushes to his room and pulls a shirt over his head. He dials Park's number on his second phone. “I'm sorry, sir, this cannot work. Our guy has appointment scheduled throughout the rest of today.” “Find a way to cancel them.” Aiden slips on his shoes. “Or just secure five minutes for me. It'll be enough to get all the information I want from him.” “You want me to tell him who you are?” Park asks, sounding shocked at t

At the other end of the room, Wesley hears a voice that sounds so much like Aiden's. He looks around. There is no one here dressed as lowly as Aiden would but he can never mistake that voice for another person's. “I'll call you later then,” Wesley hears the voice again. It's coming from a man in sunglasses. Wesley frowns. Do two people have similar voices? He's never heard of that before. To satisfy his curiosity, he walks over to the man. He's leaving now. Deliberately, he bumps into the man. The man's sunglasses fall off slightly over his nose. “Aiden?” It's really him. “What the hell are you doing here dressed like this?” Aiden puts the sunglasses back on his face. “Mind your business.” He takes two steps toward the entrance but then stops. “What apartment are you telling my wife about?” “That's my business.” Aiden walks closer. Wesley takes a step backward. He is still recovering from the slap he got from Aiden. Another one right now can really make him bedridden in the h

Wesley adjusts his cufflinks. If this doesn't send Aiden away from the house, then he'll have to resolve the last option—killing Aiden. But as far as he knows, this will do. But if it doesn't, then he'll forget about hurting Harper and figure out a way to console her after winning her to himself. He knocks on the door with “President” once before opening it gently. Mr Lincoln raises head from the work on the table. A smile creases his serious face as he sees Wesley. “Is there any problem, son?” Mr Lincoln asks. “Not really, sir. I just thought there is something I need to discuss with you,” Wesley says. “Have your seat then.” He proceeds to press a button on the table. “No need for coffee or anything, sir. The issue here is far more serious than to be discussed over a cup of coffee.” Mr Lincoln frowns. “What is going on?”“Sir…” Wesley lets out a deep breath as if what he is about to can bring down the whole world. “What's that, son?” Mr Lincoln asks, sounding really concerne

“Go out, for now. I have a couple of things to do now,” Mr Lincoln goes back to his table. “So you are not going to do anything about all I just told you?” “Go and reflect on yourself, Wesley. I don't know why you are bringing all these up but the Aiden I know will never cheat on Harper.” If Aiden is still stuck to Harper with all the money he has then, there is no way Aiden can cheat on Harper. Few seconds later, Lincoln raises his head to see Wesley still standing there. “If you have issues with Aiden, resolve it like an adult. I could call Mathew and ask him to come over if you really think Aiden is Matthew.” He takes his pen to resume signing the documents in front of him. “I'll pretend this never happened. And if you need mentorship to have a real company, come to me I'm always ready—”His throat suddenly feels dry. There is something cold pressed against his head. “How could you pretend when you knew so much about me?”

“You are making me scared, Wesley. Why are your clothes wet?” Bryan says. “Did something happen at work?” Hannah asks. Wesley shakes his head. “I've been a problem to everyone in this family…” the water from his clothes drops on the floor. “If you decide not to forgive me, it is okay with me.” “Come on, get up on your feet.” Mrs Lincoln tries to help him up but he doesn't budge. Harper comes running into the room with a cup of coffee, she hands it to Wesley but he also doesn't collect it. “Wesley, what is going on?” Mrs Lincoln asks, her voice filled with concern.Aiden's frown deepens. What the hell is Wesley scheming this time around. All of a sudden, Wesley breaks into a sob. His sob soon fills the house, causing more concern for the people in the room. All attempts to calm him are abortive. Some minutes later, he stops crying. “I'm…I'm sorry, Harper. I'm sorry for everything,” Wesley says. <

“Your father will be back probably today or tomorrow,” Mrs Lincoln says. “Yeah,” Harper says. It has been uncomfortable talking with anyone in the family since the incident of Wesley leaving them. Harper has purposely stopped speaking with Aiden because she has no idea what to tell him. They were not supposed to keep secrets like that from each other, plus, she totally believed all of Wesley's lies. “You had a nice sleep?” Her mother asks picking up a shoe from the shoe rack and put it back exactly where she took it. “Yeah.” “That's good, right?” Her mother smiles at her. “What is it?” Harper asks gently. She knows her mother won't call her here to ask about how her night went. “Dear, I understand how you feel but we all have to move on. I haven't heard from Wesley too,” Mrs Lincoln crosses over to her. Harper doesn't say anything. It's not like she has any

“Yeah. It couldn't be a coincidence that he had an accident and died.” She places a hand on Harper's shoulder. “Divorce Aiden. This is the best advice I can give you.” “I can't, mom. I'm sorry, I can't.” “Harper, you are placing both your career and Aiden's life on the line here. If your grandfather ever hears about this, Aiden will be dead.” She pats Harper again. “Go to work and think about it. Whichever one you think is better.” Outside, Aiden rushes back to the kitchen in his apron. He tries not to pant as he takes one of the dirty plates and starts washing. He listened to all the conversations between his wife and mother-in-law. Thanks to his stars, the door was slightly opened and he could easily see everything. He has to come up with a plan now. This is the time to make up for the shit he has caused Harper in the last couple of days and probably help her get over the shit that Wesley caused the other time. “What have

“Mom, Aiden has to drive me somewhere,” Hannah says. “Why Aiden? You could use the cab,” Harper says. “I'll drive her,” Aiden says. At the same time Harper's eyes meet with her mother's. Her mother gives her a look that seems to be asking her if she now understands what she has been trying to say. “Hannah, Aiden is my husband—”“I'll drive her, Harper. I'm okay with it.” Harper lets out an exasperated breath. When will Aiden come to his senses and stop behaving like this?!“Let's go, Hannah,” he says with excitement. Harper watches as the two of them go outside. “Is this the kind of man you want to show to grandfather?” Her mother asks behind them after the two left. “He'll only end up disgracing you. Look at the way he allowed Hannah to order him around without a single protest.”“I'll go for the blind dates,” Harper says, turning to her mother with a smile. “That's it, girl.

Aiden nods. He glances at her. “You must promise me you won't tell anyone about this. Not Harper or Bryan or Mom or dad.” “They'll think I'm crazy if I mention it.”Exactly. That was why Aiden didn't bother. They'd probably think she's crazy for real if she tells them any of these. Thirty minutes later, the car pulls in front of a magnificent gate. A stern looking cop with a gun dappled across his shoulder stands in front of the car. “Tell him you are here to see grandfather,” Aiden tells Hannah as he winds down the window. “Hey, get out of the road,” Hannah snaps at the man. The man quickly bows and barks out commands for the man with the remote to let the car in. “I'm sorry, ma'am, I didn't know you were the one,” the cop tells Hannah as the car drives in. “How'd you know with that dumb head of yours?” Hannah spits back. “You don't have to be that mean,” Aiden mutters. “He deser
