Lyrra sat in her office, and today there were no clients. She was waiting for Emily to finish up so they could talk. After a little while, Emily entered and took a seat across from Lyrra's desk. "You wanted to talk to me?" Emily asked while stretching. "Yeah, I need your help with something. You have a friend who knows a friend, who has a cousin that knows another friend who is a scientist, right?" "That's a lot of friends you just mentioned! But yes, I do know someone. What do you need?" "I actually need the scientist's help. Can you tell me how to reach him?" Lyrra said. "Sure! I have his number; I can just give it to you." "Really? Emily, you're amazing! I appreciate it so much!" Lyrra exclaimed happily. "Wow, you must really need his help if you're this excited and saying nice things to me! But what do you need his help for?" Emily asked with curiosity. "I'm not sure yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out," Lyrra promised. "Okay then." ------------------- Afte

"Let me clarify this: you dreamt about him, can hear what people are thinking, and both of you see golden threads connecting you. Am I right?" Eryn asked. "Yes. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it really happened," Lyrra said, trying to convince him. "I understand," was all Eryn responded. "Do you actually believe us?" Kael inquired. "I do," Eryn answered. "Really?" Lyrra questioned, surprised that he would believe them so easily. "Aren't you a scientist? I thought people like you didn't believe in things like this," Kael said, but Lyrra nudged him with her elbow. "What's wrong with you?" she whispered to him before turning back to Eryn. "So, can you help us?" "Hmm, how can I be sure you're telling the truth?" Eryn asked. Lyrra thought for a moment and decided to try using her mind-reading skills. "Let me read your mind," she suggested. He stared at her for a bit. "Okay, go ahead," he replied. "I need to touch you; can you give me your hand?" she asked. Kael looked at th

Eryn felt unsure about what to do. Even though those two people gave him hints about what they were saying, he still struggled to decide whether he could trust them. He sighed and ran his hand down his face. Just then, his phone lit up with a notification, so he picked it up and read the message. "Hi, it's Aria." He was puzzled about who it was until he remembered the girl from the club. He was surprised to see a message from her because he had completely forgotten about her, and only one person could have shared his number. "Andrew," he muttered under his breath. Another notification came in. "I know you read my message and ignoring it, but I will keep messaging you until you respond." Eryn rolled his eyes and blocked her. "I'm going to get him when he comes back." "Oh, he blocked me? I'll just have to try again," Aria said with a smile. "Miss Aria, are you listening?" her assistant asked. Aria looked up from her phone. "No, clear my schedule for this week and next week; I wo

Where are they?" a deep voice echoed. "We haven't located them yet, master," a steady but firm voice responded. "For how long?!" the voice shouted, causing the shadows around to shudder in fear. The atmosphere grew darker. "We will do our best to find them." "Humans, Lyrien! They are weak humans, and you still can't find them. Your best isn't enough. I'll handle it myself." Lyrien raised his head in surprise at this. "Yes, master," he replied. He then stood up from his kneeling position and walked away. "That was something! I could practically feel how angry he was when he shouted. If this mysterious castle wasn't surrounded by magic, I'm sure people nearby would have heard it," Liona, Lyrien's twin sister, said while leaning against the wall. Lyrien shot her an annoyed look. "Not now, Liona. I have more important things to do than argue with you," he replied as he continued down the long corridor of the castle. The castle remained dark, with no light filtering in

The little girl smiled at them, then stopped and turned to Aria. "Don't call me that; I'm not a kid," she said calmly. "Well, you look like one, so..." Aria responded. "That doesn’t mean I am," the girl replied. "You sound and look like a kid, so you definitely are one," Aria countered. "That still doesn't make me one." Aria looked puzzled and turned to Kael. "Isn't this your condo? Aren't you going to say anything?" Kael, still shocked, answered absentmindedly. "Right? Who are you?" The little girl cleared her throat. "I am Terrakaiya, guardian of Earth," she said with a smile. "Guardian of Earth?" Lyrra asked in surprise. "Oh, Lyrra! It's nice to finally meet you after following Eryn for a while." "Wait, you know my name?" Lyrra replied. "You’ve been following me?" both Lyrra and Eryn asked at once. "Calm down; I’ll answer both of your questions. First, Lyrra, yes, I know your name and the names of everyone here. And Eryn, yes, I have been following you." "But why?" Er

The group showed up at Aria's house, all except Terrakaiya, looked like they had just completed a marathon. While the others were catching their breath, Terrakaiya surveyed the house. "I feel like I'm going to throw up," Lyrra said while covering her mouth. "Me too," Eryn added, trying to find something to hold onto. Terrakaiya shook her head as she watched them. "Oh you poor things! If you can't handle this, how will you ever confront Malakai?" "Wait, who are we facing? Malakai? Why do we have to deal with him? We aren't responsible for what's happening in your kingdom," Kael responded, emphasizing the word "kingdom." "But you've been chosen, There's not much I can do except prepare you for what's ahead," Terrakaiya explained. "Um, we're missing something here. How did you pull that off? What's happening? Who were we running from? Who is this Malakai guy? Why does any of this involve us? And most importantly, you didn’t finish your story!" Aria exclaimed, still breathing heavil

The next morning, Terrakaiya woke all four of them up very early. They stood outside, still half asleep. "Why are we up so early? I don’t think they wake up this early at camp anymore," Kael said while rubbing his eyes. "That’s the whole idea! The earlier you wake up, the more energy you have," Terrakaiya replied with a smile. "It’s only four in the morning! I can barely see anything," Eryn complained. "You’ll be fine," Terra assured them. "Why are we even awake at this hour?" Lyrra asked. "So I can begin training you on how to control your powers," she explained. "Oh..." Lyrra responded. "But we're just in my backyard. Won't someone notice us?" Aria inquired. "I’ve put a magic shield around the house. We can see outside, but no one will see us; they’ll just see an ordinary house," Terra clarified. "Cool!" Aria said, impressed. "Can we just get started already?" Lyrra asked sleepily. "Okay! Let’s go!" Terrakaiya shouted excitedly. "She is really pumped about this," Eryn r

The group entered the living room, feeling exhausted. They plopped down on the couch. "My whole body hurts," Aria said. "You guys hardly did anything. Why are you so tired?" Terrakaiya asked. "What do you mean? I had to struggle to open a portal, which didn't work, by the way. Do you know how hard that is?" Aria replied. "So?" "So? Mine was way harder than theirs!" Aria pointed at the others and continued, "And why did I have to start using my powers while everyone else just sat there? Lyrra barely did anything!" "What! I did something!" Lyrra protested. "What?" Aria shot back. "I, um... tried to read Terra's mind." "And that's difficult?" Aria questioned. "Well, yeah! It felt like she doesn't have feelings or a brain or something, which is impossible! How is it my fault I got an easy power?" Lyrra explained. Aria rolled her eyes as the others watched their argument until Kael finally spoke up. "Anyway, can I leave? I have work stuff to do." "Yeah, me too," both

Lyrra hurried into her office, trying her best to avoid running into her boss. She didn’t want to get questioned or grilled by him which was why she was in a hurry, she successfully entered into her office and then sat down in her chair behind the desk. Just as she was about to relax, the office door swung open. Lyrra tensed up but breathed a sigh of relief when she saw it was Emily. "Well, well, well! Look who it is—the M.I.A therapist! Where have you been? Do you know how many times our boss has come to me asking about you? I had to come up with excuses and lies, and let me tell you, it was exhausting!" Emily said angrily. "I know, and I'm really sorry. But I'm here now, okay? Please don’t be mad," Lyrra pleaded. Emily sighed. "Lyrra, is something bothering you? I’m worried about you. If something’s wrong, please tell me." "Don't worry; I'm fine. If I have a problem, I'll let you know," Lyrra replied. "Alright then. You need to go see our boss," Emily insisted. "Why?" Lyrra as

That evening, everyone came back to Aria's house. "How was work today?" Eryn asked Lyrra. "It was alright, but my boss nagged me a lot. If I take another day off, I might get fired. I'm so stressed," Lyrra said, complaining. "What about me? You didn't ask how my day was," Aria said to Eryn with a pout. "Why should I?" Eryn replied. "Why do you hate me?" Aria asked, pretending to be hurt. "I don't," Eryn answered. "Then why do you stay away from me?" "I don't know what you're talking about," Eryn said. Just then, Terrakaiya showed up. "Oh my goodness, Terra! You scared me!" Aria exclaimed, putting her hand on her chest. "I have something important to tell you all," Terra said seriously, making everyone pay attention. "What's wrong?" Kael asked. "Malakai's minions are on the move. They're bothering innocent people and pulling them into this mess, which is not good," Terra explained. "Oh! My friend at work mentioned that our clients have been acting weird lately like they’re
