His father sighed. "There's no truth but what you have done. Maybe you're the monster here."Adrian's rage reached its peak and it exploded from him like a wildfire. The air hummed with red energy. He grabbed his father by the tailored suit jacket. His fingers dug in like claws. He lifted him effortlessly from the throne. The chair scraped back with a loud screech. His father dangled in the air as Adrian dragged him across the marble floor."What do you think you're doing? Put me down!" His father snarled.Adrian's face lit up with anger. His eyes burned red. "You did this! Admit it!"He smashed the balcony doors open.Adrian hauled his father over the stone railing. He lifted the older man high into the cold, rainy air.Wind howled around them and lightning flashed in the sky."TELL ME THE TRUTH," Adrian roared. "OR I SWEAR I'LL END YOU HERE AND NOW!"His father's face was devoid of fear. He didn't struggle. He smiled. A very chilling and triumphant smirk."Look at you!" his father

She left the room, and Adrian stared at the documents. His fingers tightened around it, and the storm inside him grew. Julia hurried out of Adrian’s office. She rushed to her desk in Rhein Group’s command center. Julia’s fingers flew across her console, pulling every string she could. She called in favors from informants, hacked into black-market trade logs, and activated Rhein Group’s network of spies embedded in Silver City. “Find me that ring,” she barked into her comm. “Engagement ring, sold by Sophia Aldridge. It is of extremely high value. Check every pawn shop and jeweler in the city. Now!” Minutes dragged like hours. Sweat beaded on her forehead as she went through the report to report. The city’s elite pawn shops were her best bet; Sophia’s rage would’ve driven her to act fast, not smart. Julia cross-referenced recent sales with Sophia’s known movements; her heart was pounding as the deadline that Adrian had given her was approaching. Finally, a ping from

Victor's cruel smile widened. He raised his voice loudly on purpose. Customers in the shop turned their heads as soon as they heard his voice. "Look, everyone!" Victor shouted. He waved the ring high in the air. The diamond sparkled under the lights. "It's Adrian Lancaster! The big man from the Aldridge family!" Gasps filled the room. Eyes locked on Adrian. Victor leaned forward. His eyes gleamed with joy. "The Aldridge family is about to discard their son-in-law!" Victor laughed. More people gathered. A crowd formed around the counter. Victor pointed at Adrian. "He's trying to cling to this ring as his last fortune. Poor thing!" Adrian stood still. His face turned dark. Dragon energy stirred inside him. But he held it back. Victor kept going. His voice is louder. "I heard you're about to be discarded like rotten fruit! From hero to zero. The mighty Adrian Lancaster begging for scraps!" Laughter rippled through the shop, and someone recorded it on their phone. "Two mi

The words hit the shop like a bomb.Lilith’s face turned to stone. Her eyes blazed with cold fury. She stepped forward, heels striking the marble like gunshots. "How dare you try to trick me?!" Her voice echoed in the shop."You dare try to scam me with this nonsense?!”Victor stumbled back. His face went pale. How could Adrian tell that it was a fake by merely looking at it?Even an experienced appraiser took more than thirty minutes to discover.“No—no, Miss Ivanova! It’s real! I swear!” “This—this is a setup! That beggar must’ve switched it!”He spun to the appraiser, voice cracking. “You’re wrong! Check again! Check again!”Lilith’s laugh was sharp and cruel. “My appraiser is he best in the world. He has never made a mistake. Never!”Victor dropped to his knees. The necklace clattered to the floor. “Please! It’s a mistake! He did it!” He pointed at Adrian with a trembling finger. “That bastard! He switched the stones! He’s jealous! He’s broke!”Adrian threw his head bac

Lilith had noticed Adrian... The tall man with curly hair and body chiseled like that of a god... And unlike most men, he did not kneel to worship her, and that made him more attractive. And to top it all he could tell a fake gem from afar without even touching it.She pays her appraiser over ten million dollars a month just to do that.... With Adrian by her side, she would never have to worry about anyone trying to scam her by selling fake jewelry.Lilith stepped closer to him.Her luxurious perfume filled the air. She studied him with curiosity in her eyes. Her gaze traveled over his sharp jaw, his crimson eyes, his unyielding stance. She smiled warmly and almost licked her lips.“You are a man of sharp eyes and sharper nerves, Mr. Lancaster.” She tilted her head and her voice dropped to silk. “I find you interesting.” She paused as Adrian slowly lifted his head, his gaze meeting hers.“So tell me… are you married?”Adrian met her gaze with a polite smile.“My apologies, Mis

Gerald and Sarah surged forward at once. They moved like a wall, shielding Sophia from him. .Gerald's face twisted in disgust. He leaned in closer. "You disgust us," he snarled. "The only thing you'll be getting after today is a lifetime in a jail cell. We'll make sure of it."Sarah's eyes flashed with venom. She pointed a finger at Adrian's chest. "Today, your life of crime ends, murderer," she hissed. Her voice echoed down the hallway.Adrian stood there. Those words hit him like punches. His hand tightened around the ring. He wanted to show it to her. To prove something, anything. But he saw the hate in their eyes. It was too deep. He said nothing more. He just turned and walked into the courtroom. The bailiff called everyone to order. The judge entered. An older man with a stern face and no patience. He banged the gavel hard. The room fell silent. The case began quickly. The prosecution laid out the evidence like weapons on a table. CCTV footage played on big screens—showing

"Now is not a good time... After everything you have done, you think you can just show and I will forgive you?"Malvin lowered his head in silence. His finger shot out like a spear, pointing directly at Adrian."Sophia, what hall that night was not the whole truth.""I want the world to know the truth," he declared."Adrian Lancaster brutalized me that night. I was drugged. He injected me with something that caused me to act that way. This man is despicable, you know how good he is with medicine.""It was always part of his plan, to systematically remove anyone close to Sophia so he could take over the Aldridge family and eventually commit this final, horrible crime."Gasps rippled through the room.A reporter whispered into a mic: "Malvin just accused Adrian of drugging him. This is explosive."Adrian’s blood turned to fire.He took one step forward. Then another. He was already doing his best to keep his cool during this divorce process, and now he sees who shows up to take advanta

Adrian barely heard the words. It felt like the courtroom was spinning. He had expected Sophia to point at Malvin, to demand justice for the man who had once tried to drug and ruin her. Instead, the finger was pointed at him. The woman he loved had just handed him over to the wolves. The proof was staring at him right in the face... She saw only a monster when she looked at him.He found his voice. “You’re not seriously choosing this bastard over everything I told you.” His words cracked as he spoke. Gerald stepped forward, placing a protective arm around Sophia’s shoulders.“You are no longer family,” Gerald said coldly. “We will make sure you never see the light of day again.”Two officers were about to grab him when a voice shook the entire courthouse. “Anyone who touches him will die!”The entire courthouse seemed to hold its breath. The words still hung in the air.The massive oak doors exploded inward with a thunderous crack.Lilith Ivanova stepped in along with her presid

The severed hand lay on the floor. The inspector’s scream echoed through the entire room. Medics in the back row shoved past frozen reporters, ripping open trauma kits. One pressed a thick pad against the stump. The inspector’s face went white. His eyes rolled back as they dragged him toward the side exit. The doors slammed shut behind them. The entire hall swallowed hard. Lilith turned and her cold gaze swept the Aldridge family.“This,” Lilith said in a low voice, “is a misunderstanding.” She stepped closer to Adrian, placing a possessive hand on his shoulder. “Adrian Lancaster is not a monster as you claim. I have met terrible men and he is not one of them.”Gerald found his voice first, though it cracked at first. “Miss Ivanova, you don’t know him. He is like a snake. He is charming but I swear he is deadly. He poisoned Rowan. He humiliated my daughter. He...”“I’ll take my chances,” Lilith cut in, eyes flashing. “He’s mine now. Touch a hair on his head, and you answer to me.

Adrian didn’t respond. He just let out a small smile. The weight of Sophia’s accusations, the betrayal, the divorce still pressed against his chest. Lilith’s gaze lingered on him. Adrian could see the hunger in her eyes, but he avoided her gaze. She shifted in her seat, her coat falling open to reveal the curve of her collarbone. “Isn’t it hot in here?” she murmured as her fingers moved to the buttons of her blouse. Meanwhile, the temperature of the AC was probably negative degrees. Adrian knew what she was playing at. She unbuttoned the first two buttons of her shirt. The fabric parted, revealing smooth skin and her cleavages. Her eyes never left his, daring him to look. Adrian kept his face turned away. His gaze was fixed on the rain outside the window. Lilith’s hand slid across the seat and she began to trace the line up his thigh. Her hand slowly went higher and higher. Her fingers brushed the seam of his trousers, teasingly. But before her hand could go far Ad
