Leon rushes back to the hospital, and just as he comes out of his car, Elizabeth Grayson steps out of the darkness, in her black coat. She seems to have just cried because her eyes are stained from her rubbing mascara, and they are also swollen. Leon is perplexed. Why has his fiancee’s nemesis called to see him around midnight? “Mrs Grayson?” Leon asks, as if he can't believe his eyes. “Yes, it's me.” She looks down. “You can go on and mock me, but you have no idea how much thought I put into coming here. I have no other choice.” “Are you injured?” He looks at her with doubt. “If it's not an emergency, then I have to ask you to come back tomorrow. It's too late to take in any patient for today.” Her lips folds into her mouth. “I came here because you're right. I have cancer.” She blurts out. “What?” Leon eyebrows shoot to the sky. “I mean, I don't have it yet, but I'm sure I do.” She shrugs. “I didn't tell my husband this, but I have a terrible family secret. My mother did

Leon gets a very unusual request from Helen. She asked him to follow her to visit someone, and he agreed. He had no idea who they were going to visit, until they pull up to an unfamiliar house, and ring the door. “Hello, Damien.” She says with a flat tone. The only person that is surprised is Leon, why didn't Helen tell him that they were coming to see Damien? And why are they here? “I didn't think you would actually be coming.” He looks at her from head to toes.“I always keep my word.” Helen says, and Damien huffs. He opens the door wide, and Helen walks into the house. She turns around and crooks her eyebrow at Leon, as if to ask ‘aren’t you coming?’He walks in, and Damien glares at him, but Leon doesn't mind him at all. Selina is gently rocking one of the babies in his crib, while she holds the other to her chest. She turns around, her lips slightly parts with shock when she sees the unexpected visitors. “Congratulations.” Helen says, hands pressed to her side. Selina l

“No.” “Cam, we haven't even heard this plan yet.” “No.” Cameron packs up his laptop and slips it into his bag. He is not even looking at Helen and Leon, he is leaving his office for the day. Helen is stunned by his behavior. He is still giving her the cold shoulder, and at this point, it's annoying. Leon heaves with defeat. He didn't even know why he thought that Cameron would agree to this easily. Helen turns to him, her eyes glistening with tears of frustration. “Leave us.” “Helen, we need to make him see things from our point of view–” “Leave us, Leon. Maybe I can handle this myself.” She begs him. Leon just nods and leaves the room. Cameron keeps throwing whatever he thinks he needs to take home with him tonight. He still hasn't given her even a glance. “Cameron, can you please sit down so that I can tell you about this plan that Leon has?” She asks. “I'm still not talking to you, Helen, I hope that you are not forgetting that.” He mutters. “Oh my God, you haven't gr

Leon stands in front of the mirror, knotting his tie and making sure that he is perfect for this ceremony today. For the first time in twenty years, he will be attending an occasion to celebrate his parents, even in death, and their achievements. It's a big deal for him, and he is brooding over the matter. The twins are going to meet them at the venue, this is going to be the first time that they will all be attending something like this together. A soft knock sounds on the door, and Helen walks in. She looks pretty in her blue dress, and her makeup makes her look more like a disney princess, not just the badass doctor that she is. “Wow, you look very handsome.” She walks over to him and smoothens the sleeves of his suit. His eyes catch a fancy ring on her finger, a ring that he recognizes. To be honest, a diamond that size is hard to miss. “You're wearing Alex's ring.” Leon points out. She sighs, and puts her left hand behind her. It's like she is ashamed of the ring. “I have

Alex openly laughs, then clicks his tongue. “I'm supposed to believe that you are that eager to be my wife?” Helen tilts her head to the side. “Are you being a scared baby and trying to back off now?” He doesn't answer because he still doesn't believe her, but Helen then leans in and kisses his lips. Leon holds his breath as everyone starts to clap again. If Helen wasn't already such a good doctor, she would have made one hell of an actress. Leon reaches for one of the bottles of wine on the table, and he takes a huge gulp too. This is going to be a very long day. In a few minutes, this has moved from Arthur and Lucy's remembrance, to Alex and Helen's engagement. The ring. That's what all the ladies are talking about, because heaven knows that's the biggest stone they have seen on a ring. How much did he buy it for? Did he get down on one knee? Is the mysterious Alex Kane a romantic person in private? To lighten up the mood, Helen has agreed to take at least five questions fro

Leon's face is frozen with shock. “What?” “Oh my God!” Her hand slaps over her mouth. “You don't want to get married? It's too soon?” “Oh, honey, it's not that. I want to marry you more than anything in the world, but I don't understand why you want to get married like today. What happened? Did someone say something mean to you?” MJ tries to speak at first, but it seems like the words are stuck in her throat. Leon grabs her hand and pulls her deeper into the garden. It's quiet, and dark, the best place for them to speak. Luckily for them, there is a bench there, and they sit down. “What's going on, MJ? I miss you, yes, but you seem to be going through something bigger. Tell me all about it.” MJ's hands cover her face. “I don't want to be her, I can't do that.” “What?” Leon squints his eyes. The more she speaks, the more confused he seems to be getting. “I don't want to be like Helen, Leon. Did you see what happened there? That's the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life.”

Leon gently knocks on the door before he walks into the room. Alex Kane is already sitting on the bed, going through his phone. He is shirtless, and the scars on his body send a shiver down Leon's spine once again. “You're late.” He says without looking up from his phone. “I was in the middle of a very important surgery. I couldn't just abandon a patient because he snapped your fingers in my direction.” Leon mutters. This gets Alex's attention, he finally looks up. “Are you implying that I am not important, Doctor Leon?” Leon sighs as he drops the small cooler he brought in with him. The medicine to cure this cancer is very reactive, and can change very quickly, under the wrong conditions. Leon has been very careful with it, because if it's taken out of the cooler and meets with a different kind of temperature in more than ten seconds, it can actually turn deadly to any human. He puts on his gloves, before taking out the clear vial and holds it up, before drawing it into a sy

After the wedding, Alex takes his bride home, not straight to the airport to jet out of the city for a honeymoo, but into a car, back to his mansion.Helen sits as far away from him as possible, and looks out of the window the entire way. Alex is not hurt by this, he is busy catching up with his business on his phone. When they get to the Kane mansion, the place looks different to Helen. It's like the place has been clean, as if to hide the fact that the Kane family built this mansion with blood money…All the staff are standing outside in three lines, wearing clean uniforms and robotic smiles on their faces. As soon as Helen steps out of the car, she almost lets out a gasp because of their craziness. “The new madam is here, kneel to welcome the boss’ wife!” One of them orders in a thunderous voice, and they all fall to their knees. Helen is stunned by this, because she has lived with servants all her life, but no one has ever knelt to her before. She turns to Alex, her eyes d

Helen wakes up in the morning and it's Leon who is calling her. She puts on a robe and steps out to the balcony, before she picks up the call. “Good morning, Helen.” His voice sounds different. Concerned. “Don't sound worried, Leon, I'm fine.” She sighs. “Remember you promised that you will tell me if anything goes wrong.” Leon reminds her. “Nothing has gone wrong.” She insists. “I'm fine. I even have a room to myself, and I haven't seen him since dinner last night. I think I can handle him.” Can she though? Luna meows and stretches on the bed. “Have you spoken with him recently?” She asks, dropping her voice. They don't need to outrightly say his name. “He is fine.” Leon answers. “I will take care of things at the hospital today, so don't worry yourself–” “Don't be ridiculous, Leon, I'm coming in to work today.” “Helen, you just got married yesterday.” “I can't stay here and do nothing, I would literally go crazy.” She heaves. “Just, give me a minute or two, I will be out

Mrs Jones has never felt this way before about her husband. She couldn't sleep the entire night, so she stays in the living room with a hot cup of tea. The way her husband has suddenly changed has left a heavy weight on her shoulder. The kids are all out of the house. This is the time she is supposed to enjoy her retirement with her husband, but she can't. She hears the clearing of throat, and she sees her husband descending the stairs. “It's just three o'clock in the morning, why are you awake?” He asks as he sits down next to her. “Nothing serious, I'm just thinking about us, the kids….” He laughs. “They are out of the house now, we can have some peace of mind.” Mrs Jones drops the cup on the center table. “We need to talk, Jonathan.” Mister Jones feels his stomach knots. The moment he has been dreading has come. “Did the kids do something to you?” He asks. “Tell me, I will make sure that I discipline them appropriately.” “The kids,” she gives a hopeless snort. “It's not t
