Chapter 31
“Carl?!" Dr. Kessing shot up from his chair, surprised to see Carl. “You...how? I thought it was a 10 year sentence?" He was obviously flustered.Carl smiled and gently closed the door behind.Dr. Kessing quickly stepped out behind his desk.“Please... please have your seat.” He gestured at a chair across his desk— the one Thompson Montclair sat on earlier. “Wow. You look...I mean you look different. Are you sure you were even sent to the prison or restaurant?" He chuckled, his tone light and teasing.“Amnesty came and I was among the lucky ones that got pardoned.” Carl said convincingly, not willing to reveal how he actually got out of the prison to Mr. Kessington.“I just returned to the city this morning and I came over to the office to sort some things out but it seems today is really a good day. I can't believe I'm seeing you, Carl. Is Elira aware that you're back?” He said happily as she sat on his chair again.“You're not aware Elira wants to end our marriage?" Carl was slight
Chapter 32
Carl dropped the phone from his ear, surprised to hear Dr. Kessing's angry outburst from the other end.He was confused, wondering if he wasn't the same man who welcomed him sincerely at his office earlier that morning or was he.....His phone buzzed loudly, interrupting his thoughts. It was a familiar number with no name.Once he saw the digits, he knew it was Elira's.A tight frown formed before his brow. “Why's she calling again?” He hesitated before picking up the call. He knew she wasn't going to say something good but he was curious to know what exactly she was going to say this time around.A mocking laughter erupted through the speaker immediately he picked up the call.“Is that all you can do, Huh? You hit my gateman in the face and went to my dad's office to make a report, Hmph! You want to claim the good guy but you're just a criminal! You're bitter that I moved on so you think causing trouble can make me accept you back, Huh? Never! Impossible. We're done.” She hissed, her

Hearing the name, Mr. Kenneth adjusted on the sofa. He set his glass of wine aside and looked at Cassandra, his daughter with a new interest in his eyes. “Nameless king?" He repeated, his voice smooth with an edge in it. Cassandra gave a double curt nod. He cleared his throat and started with a different voice. “The only mysterious powerful man the world has ever heard of.” Cassandra listened raptly as he was saying. “Some believed he's just a rumour, some said he's just the ghost of a powerful man who died many years ago, but even at that, his name touches every lips everyday, his name tops news headlines and magazines, and yet no one has ever seen him. No one knows who he is, another powerful thing about him is that he has knowledge about everything which makes some people also call him the earth God.” He responded to the best of his knowledge and then leaned forward picking his glass cup of champagne. “Is there anything you've heard?” He asked quietly, swirling the glass gently.
Chapter 34
Mr. Kenneth dropped the call. “Grandfather is aware of the break up between you and Henry. He called a meeting and we must not miss it.” He said, already standing up, adjusting his suit. “I smell trouble.” Cassandra stood up and grabbed her purse. “Don't worry, Dad. There'll be no trouble.” She said assuringly, but she knew deep down she knew that fire is about to burn on the mountain since it involves the Varnovas family. The Varnovas family had been supporting their family business since she was going to get married to Henry, but things went south at that last minute. Carl dressed in a plain deep ash shirt and black slacks and walked out of his rent. He walked to Mr. Bobby who was outside on the pavement, relaxing his back on a recliner, his radio broadcasting midday news. Carl walked to him. Mr. Bobby sat straighter when he saw him coming, his eyes brightening. The last encounter Carl had with Thompson Montclair, turning down a Mansion worth million grand and gifts had left hi

Thompson's expression dropped Instantly. Kane disregarding such a grand offer was more shocking to him. He'd expected this outcome, but he never expected Carl to quickly decline the offer like it wasn't even significant in any way. Desperation mixed with agitation. Thompson sat straighter on the leather, the emergency of Carl's declination still weighing on him. He cleared his throat and pressed on desperately, eager to make Carl change his mind. He pressed on with an even softer voice. "Mr. Carl, you don't need to worry about a thing. We'll provide everything you need without complicating your demand." He paused briefly, watching Carl for any crack in his expression, but he was indifferent about it. He continued with a new resolve and energy. " This is a chance to steal the spotlight, and another chance to heal the world. With your incredible healing abilities, the world will look at you.... like a god." Carl looked at him and said nonchalantly as though he'd figured something f
Chapter 36
The manor of the Winston family spread across the heart of Crest hill estate. The building stood at the centre, marbles slapping the wall and reflecting off light subtly. Two gigantic columns stood tall at the entrance like static sentinels. Cobblestone laced the floor of the compound from the gate to the main building. The Winston manor is usually live, but something seemed to be happening today that made the atmosphere even more rowdy. Sleek cars lined the compound, each one emitting brilliance that's unmistakable. Another car, purring like dragons, a sky white McLaren 720S eased through the gate and pulled into an empty space in the crowded parking space. The engine cut off and after a moment, the door swung open in style. First, A loafer kissed the cobblestone. Dead black and shiny. The kind that shines with easy arrogance. The door clicked shut with a heavy thud, revealing an imposing figure. Tall, squared shoulder like razor blade. His beards were neatly trimmed. His

WINSTON'S PARLOR A long glass rectangular table gleamed under recessed light. The gentle hums of functioning air conditioners were drowned by the chatter of conversations from sparkling men and women in resplendent gown and suits, seated around the table as they engaged in joyful conversations, laughter and hand shakes ringing the air. Every member of Winston's family was present at the urgent meeting summoned by Pa. Winston, the patriarch of Winston's family. Cassandra and his father, Mr. Kenneth made their way into the buzzing hall with a surprising look at that look of the incredible turn up of the family members. "Why had grandpa summoned everyone. It's too urgent. This can't be about Henry." Cassandra mused, confusion evident in her eyes. "Let's find a seat." Mr. Kenneth said and pressed forward. Pa. Winston had five children, four of which were male, and a female. Their grandchildren were also present, and Cassandra fits in the position as her father's beautiful daughter.

Winston Hall fell into a heavy quietness. Only the air breathed sharp with the smell of expensive cologne and looming scandal. Tension suffocated everything. Pa. Winston's expression was stoic and unwelcoming. His eyes skimmed on each family member till it landed on Cassandra beside her father. "Cassandra," His voice carried a fierce edge, starling Cassandra slightly as she looked at him, concern etching on her face. Every eye around the table burned on Cassandra, some twisting with disgust, lips muttering silent curse on her. "You broke up with Henry. Why?" Cassandra shifted slightly on her chair. "Grand...." "I'm not asking you a question!" Pa. Winston hissed, cutting her off harshly. He leaned slightly, his eyes blazing. "Do you know the gravity is of what your carelessness...your carelessness and inability to handle a simple relationship has cost my companies?!" The hall was gravelly silent. Across the table, Leonard and Morgana grinned in satisfaction as Cassandra was gettin
Chapter 39
All heads turned in the direction of the smooth voice. Cassandra's eyes narrowed on the man who walked in casually like it was his authority that gathered all of them round the table. The moment recognition flickered in her eyes, her eyes widened slightly, surprise and disbelief flashing. "Carl," She mumbled, her voice barely above whispers, a cocktail of astonishment and disbelief. A light smile cut through her shocking expression as a strange feeling of relief and excitement pulsed through her on seeing Carl. Carl Clad a plain ash shirt. No designs. No style. Just subtle wear. Plain Black slacks, and a comfortable loafer, thudding faintly as he walked inside calmly. Pa. Winston's eyes narrowed for recognition and curiosity. "Who are you?" He echoed. Carl stopped and gave Cassandra a light smile before turning to Pa. Winston. "Good day, grandpa. I'm your son-in-law, Sir." He toned boldly and respectfully. "I'm Cassandra's fiance." Murmuring buzzed in the air. "Son-in-law law?

Walter conglomerate isn't just a name to be mentioned in an ordinary room. They're one mighty organization that makes decisions that can move the world, against government decisions and logistics.
