A goddess on the bed.

Carl froze immediately he stepped out of the bathroom, water dripping from his body all over the floor like a spilling fountain.

His eyes squinted to the corner of the room, to the bed which was earlier empty. Just the velvet blank sheet covering the bed but now, a woman was sprawling on that bed, drifting into slumber as though not just the room but also the whole of Mufi hotel belongs to her.

Carl swallowed, his thoughts spinning, wondering... wondering how...

....his eyes spun to the door. It was slightly ajar. Then to the woman. She must have sneaked into the room while he was away, taking his bath.

With a swirling thought, Carl walked to the door, each step calculated and almost cautious as though he wanted to catch a thief unaware.

Gently, he pushed the door and it shut with a faint thud.

Before he could turn, an arm wrapped his bare chest like octopus whipping it's prey. It was tender, soft and warm. A warm sensational feeling pulsed through Carl's body and something snapped inside, in his heart.

It was the woman.

Quickly, like one under the influence of an alerting hormone, Carl plucked her hand from his body and stepped back.

“Ms... you're in the wrong room..you need to leave now.” Carl pretested calmly, eyes locked on the striking figure in his front.

The stench of alcohol hit his nose, louder than her perfume. The smells twisted, contrasting, warring..the perfume. It lingered in the atmosphere, choking out the air.

She's drunk. Carl thought.

Maybe she's just one of those street whore who had strayed into a wrong room but something caught Carl's eyes on her neck.

A necklace.

Brilliant. Diamond— real and pure, catching light and scattering it all over.

Carl squinted on it, not concentrating on the woman but the piece on her neck. Her hairs scattered, covering her face like a mask.

Carl recognize it.

A necklace that cost a fortune but maybe not to him but it could only mean that this woman isn't a whore. She's from a rich family.

That necklace is the ‘heritage of bloom’ costing $10 million grands!

Carl's thoughts spiralled again.

Maybe she's one of the spoilt coddled women from a privileged family in the city.

“Make love to me... Henry is such a bastard!" She hissed, saliva spraying from her lips.

Carl was surprised. And before he could break out the reverie, something else happened like it never happened. It was quick. Too quick.

The women stumbled forward, almost tripping on her heels and her lips clicked on Carl's. She kissed him.

Carl stood there, frozen in shock.

And she laughed, as though she just planted the comedy of the century on his lips rather than on screen.

“Ms..you need to leave now. You're in the wrong place.” Carl said, still in shock of the kiss.

She tossed her hair behind her back and her striking face caught the glimmers in the room.

Carl stared at her, drinking in her features.

She was extraordinarily beautiful as though she was ripped out of a magazine. An oval shaped face that embodied striking features; Large expressive eyes that sparkled like crystal, small lips, almost recessed that made Carl wonder if she could speak and her body...glass hour figure, wrapped in a burgundy designer gown.

Carl swallowed. Though he had met a lot of beautiful women but the woman in his front looks like she dropped from heaven.

And something about her— she looks familiar but Carl couldn't remember where'd seen the face. After all, he'd seen a lot of faces he had forgotten. Socialites, Elites, faces of those who control the world. Those whose name appears on news headlines everyday. Those people bow to him.

The laughter died in her throat and something snapped inside of her. Her eyes glinted.. burning like a fire that won't die easily. It spread.

She started, pleading desperately. “Please.. please. Make love to me. I'm dying please. I'm burning.” She was behaving wild, wanton, hands running over her body, gown shuffling in frantic movement.

Carl narrowed his eyes, observing her. She's behaving contrary to a drunk woman.

He reached out, two fingers pressing on her neck as he checked her pulse. Carl's eyes widened in surprise. He withdrew his hand quickly.

Her blood was boiling through her vein aggressively, similar to a steaming water on fire.

As a special medical expert, Carl had just detected something strange rushing her blood— a potent aphrodisiac.

Her body is literally exploding with sexual hormones and she's going to die in the next one hour if Carl doesn't help her.

Getting intimate with her in this condition, without a consensual agreement is sexual assault but in this situation, her life is tangled with it.

She pulled Carl like a wild and hungry beast, right unto the bed. She ripped her gown off as though it had long caught fire beneath her skin.

“Make love to me...please.Please.” She pleaded, desperation and hunger laced in her voice.

Something snapped inside of Carl and his heart bloomed like roses of Eden. Something kicked in-between his leg. Something he had long forgotten he could use this way.

Even though Carl didn't want to do this. He knew it'd look like he's taking advantage of the woman but he's human and blood runs through his vein. As much as he tried to resist this beauty, he couldn't let her die too.

The night passed in a blur.

Skin on skin, the bed squeaked under their weight to the thrashing movement. Time seems to pause but the moment was slow.. burning. Fingers dug into skin and panting filled the room, weaving with the whispers of the cooling system.

The next moment, the two collapsed on the bed, panting heavily before they fell asleep like they'd inhaled a sleeping gas sleeping syrup.

*****

The next morning, Cassandra stirred, her eyes flicked open. The ceiling....it wasn't the usual coffered roof. She sat but she was pulled back as a sharp pain shot between her leg. She winced, wondering.

Then her gaze landed to the floor. Her heels and gown, scattered on the floor. Her heart jumped to her neck. She was stark naked beneath a blank sheet.

The blood on sheet and the pain. No, it couldn't be. She shook off the cruel thoughts.

Mind reeling, she spun. A burning gasp caught in her throat, eyes wide in shock. Beside her is a man, eyes shut as he drifted away in a calm sleep.

Cassandra's world lurched, her heart banging, almost ripping out from her chest.

Someone had entered and raped her!

Anger exploded inside. Her eyes, glinting with shock earlier shimmered with rage.

She pounced, her hand swung dangerously through the air to choke the man on the bed but before it could happen, Carl's eye snapped open like a soldier under the effect of modafinil— an alertness drug.

He rolled over at the last minute, dodging her attack. Her hand dug into the bed.

“How dare you! You criminal!” Cassandra grabbed a glass cup on the nightstand and hurled it.

Carl Dodged it, sidestepping with smooth efficiency. The glassware hit the wall...

CRACK!

...And it spilled all over the floor.

“Oh God! Are you trying to kills me after I helped you?" Carl raised his voice in awe.

“Helped me? You r*ped me you criminal! I'm going to kill you!" She stormed forward like a ferocious hurricane.

Carl gripped her arm before she could lunch.

“Stop!”

His voice startled her to shock.

“I'm not lying. I helped you. You came here begging me to do what was against my wish and now you want to kill me because I simply helped a dying woman? Have you forgotten you came here drunk.. maybe you also forgot you slipped an aphrodisiac in your own drink that could have got you killed. I literally saved you from death.”

Cassandra gasped. She stumbled back, eyes flashing with shock and confusion.

Carl continued, voice softened with a concerning edge.

“But I'll protect you. And I'll be fully responsible for you. I promise!"
