CHAPTER 11
The cold air stung Everett’s face the moment he stepped out of the overturned truck. His breath turned white, vanishing quickly into the dark night. The snow crunched under his boots as he stood frozen, staring at the strange world around him.The place was nothing like the city he knew. Gigantic mountains of ice rose up into the clouds, their jagged edges glowing faintly under the pale moonlight. Black shadows moved across the peaks, and the sounds of distant roars echoed through the valley.Everett’s heart pounded. “This isn’t supposed to happen yet. The snow mountains are meant for later stages, not level two. Why are we here so soon?”Screams pulled his attention back. Ahead, the Perilous Military clashed with strange creatures. Everett squinted through the storm of snow. The monsters were tall, twice the size of men. Their bodies were covered with rough white fur, blending with the snow, but their eyes glowed red in the darkness. Their claws sparkled like ice blades, sharp eno
Chapter 12
Everett’s body crashed through layers of ice and snow. He spun wildly, his arms flailing, unable to grab onto anything. The cold air whipped past his face, and his screams echoed in the hollow space, then, THUD!He hit the ground hard, the air knocked out of his lungs. For a long moment, he lay there, gasping, his chest burning with pain. His sword had slipped from his grip and lay a few feet away, half-buried in the snow. Everett coughed and forced himself to sit up. His back ached, his body bruised, but he was alive. “Damn it…” he muttered under his breath, pulling himself together. The place he landed in was nothing like the snowy surface above. It was a vast cavern, glowing faintly with blue light. The walls were made of ice, tall and sharp, and strange crystals stuck out of the ground like frozen flames. They pulsed slowly, casting eerie shadows across the cavern.Everett rubbed his arms as a shiver ran down his spine. The air was colder here, so cold it made his teeth chatte
Chapter 13
The roar of the Frost Titan thundered through the cavern like a storm. Ice cracked, crystals shattered, and the air itself seemed to tremble. Everett’s hands shook so badly he nearly dropped his sword. His breath came in short gasps, each cloud of white mist swallowed by the freezing air.The giant rose higher and higher until its massive body filled the cavern. Its shoulders scraped the ceiling of ice, sending shards falling like deadly icicles. Its body was made of frozen rock, patches of jagged ice glowing faintly blue. Two glowing eyes burned like fire in the middle of its head. When it opened its mouth, Everett could see teeth like daggers of ice, steam pouring out with every breath.Everett’s throat went dry. “I created this thing… but seeing it for real, it’s a monster beyond imagination.”Kael stood firm beside him, staff glowing faintly with frost. His eyes were sharp, but Everett could see the tension in his jaw. Even Kael, who had survived here for so long, looked uneas
Chapter 14
The cavern was silent except for the sound of ice cracking under the Titan’s broken body. The giant had fallen, its form split apart, glowing blue light fading from the cracks in its chest. Steam rose from its shattered remains, filling the air with mist.Everett stood frozen, sword trembling in his hands, his breath ragged and uneven. His eyes were fixed on the man standing a few feet away. The man who had just slain the Titan with one decisive strike. Micheal Slade. His broad frame stood tall, wrapped in dark armor that seemed forged from shadow and steel. Red lines pulsed faintly across the armor, glowing with an unnatural heat. His weapon, a massive blade glowing with molten fire, rested on his shoulder, steam hissing from its edge. But it was his eyes that made Everett’s blood run cold. They glowed faint red, filled not with humanity but with something twisted. Something hungry. “Micheal…” Everett whispered again, his voice low, broken.Kael, leaning against the wall for supp
Chapter 15
The avalanche came like a storm of death. Snow, ice, and shards of stone poured from the cavern ceiling, burying everything in blinding white.Everett’s scream was lost in the roar. The ground vanished beneath him as the flood of ice swept him away like a leaf in a raging river. His sword was torn from his grip. He tumbled through the freezing torrent, his body crashing against sharp rocks and broken crystal. The cold was unbearable. It pierced his skin, bit into his bones, and stole the air from his lungs. He clawed at the ice, desperate to grab hold of something, anything, but it was useless. The avalanche dragged him deeper, deeper into darkness, then, THUD!His body slammed hard against something solid. Pain shot through his chest, and he gasped, sucking in a mouthful of icy air. He rolled, coughing and shivering, his vision blurry.Slowly, the roaring faded. The avalanche settled into silence. Snow pressed against him from every side, heavy and suffocating. For a terrifying mom
Chapter 16
The light swallowed Everett whole. His body spun through a tunnel of blinding blue, weightless and helpless, as though he were falling and flying at the same time. His ears rang, and his chest burned, but he clung tightly to Kael’s arm, refusing to let go, then, just as suddenly, the light vanished. He fell hard onto solid ground, snow and ice replaced by dirt and stone. He coughed violently, rolling onto his side, his chest heaving as he sucked in the new air. It was damp and warm, heavy with the smell of moss and decay. Beside him, Kael groaned, still alive but pale, his body trembling from exhaustion.Everett pushed himself up slowly, his eyes darting around. The cavern was gone. They were somewhere else entirely. They stood in a vast underground forest. Strange trees grew tall and crooked, their bark dark and wet, their leaves glowing faint green. Thick vines hung from the ceiling, dripping with moisture. The ground squelched under Everett’s boots, covered in moss and puddles.
Chapter 17
The stone door slammed shut behind them with a heavy boom. The echo rolled through the cavern like thunder.Everett staggered forward, pulling Kael with him. His chest heaved, his breath loud in the silence. The glow of the runes faded, leaving them in almost total darkness. For a long moment, there was nothing, only the sound of their breathing, the dripping of water, and Everett’s pounding heartbeat. Then, faint blue flames flickered to life along the walls. Torches lit themselves one by one, stretching down a long corridor. The dungeon had awakened. Everett swallowed hard. “We’re inside…”Kael leaned heavily on him, his voice weak. “Where… is this place?”Everett stared at the endless corridor, the flickering blue light casting eerie shadows. The stone walls were old, covered in cracks and strange symbols. The air smelled of damp stone, dust, and something sour.He shook his head slowly. “This wasn’t part of my design. I… I don’t remember making a dungeon here.”Kael’s eyes narrowe
Chapter 18
The chamber trembled, stone dust raining down from the cracked ceiling. The dungeon boss rose fully from its throne, towering over Everett and Kael. Its armor was dark and rusted, but glowing lines of green energy pulsed through it, giving it an unholy life. Its face was hidden behind a bone helmet, only two green flames burning where its eyes should have been. The massive sword it carried scraped the floor, leaving glowing marks on the cracked tiles. Every step it took sent a shock through the hall.Everett’s throat went dry. His fists clenched at his sides. He had no sword, no shield, no real chance. Kael leaned heavily against the wall, too weak to stand straight, his staff shattered. “We can’t fight this, Everett thought, his chest tightening. Not like this.”Then the stone doors behind them boomed again, shaking under a violent impact. Micheal’s voice roared from the other side.“Everett! You think you can hide? You think you can escape me?”The doors cracked. Red light seepe
Chapter 19
The chamber trembled like the heart of a dying mountain. The boss’s massive sword cut through the air, glowing with green fire. Micheal’s molten blade met it, sparks and smoke exploding between the two weapons. The force of their clash sent shockwaves tearing through the hall, cracking the tiles and shaking the throne itself.Everett staggered, his hand pressed against the glowing crystal embedded beneath the throne. The light burned his skin, but it was not just heat, it was something deeper. A power that pulsed with every beat of his heart, whispering in his mind. “Take me… claim me… become master of the dungeon.”The whispers grew louder. They were not in one voice but many, male, female, human, inhuman, all speaking at once. Some sounded pleading, others mocking.Everett’s throat was dry. His chest burned. His fingers twitched against the crystal.Behind him, Kael shouted, his voice hoarse but urgent. “Everett! Don’t let it consume you! That power will change you!”Everett clenc
Chapter 20
The chamber burned with light and chaos. The dungeon boss swung its massive sword, green fire trailing the blade. Micheal answered with his molten weapon, fire colliding with energy in a deafening clash. Sparks, smoke, and shards of stone filled the air.And in the center of it all stood Everett, his hand still glowing faintly from the crystal’s mark. His body shook, his breath ragged, but power thrummed in his veins. He could feel the dungeon itself, the cracks in the stone, the veins of energy running under the floor, even the cold weight of the air pressing down on them. It was all connected to him now.He lifted his hand without thinking. Green spikes of stone erupted from the floor, stabbing upward at the boss’s legs. The massive figure staggered back, roaring, as cracks spread across its armor. Everett gasped, both shocked and terrified. “I… I did that.”Kael’s voice echoed weakly from the side of the chamber. “You’re controlling the dungeon. Everett… be careful!”But Micheal
