Chapter 61
Jeremy familiarised himself with his new office. It felt like it was made for just him. There was no wonder that the CEO before him had very great taste. A knock came from behind the office door. “Come in.” Jeremy inched closer to his desk, his hand under his chin and his eyes fixed on the door. Amy stepped into the room. Behind her were six brilliantly dressed men and women. “These are the outstanding ones from the office Sir. I have also brought their files with him.” Amy reported, handing over some documents to Jeremy. “Thank you, Amy.” He picked up each files, his eyes skimming through them. These were people with perfect and timely attendance in the office. They had records speaking of how fast they completed errand. The contributions they had made to the company, and remarks from various co-workers and higher-ups. “These records are brilliant but I need proofs. Anyone can scribble anyth

Jeremy pressed the button on his communicator. “Come to my office, Amy.” “You asked for my presence, Sir.” Amy answered, stepping into the vibrant room. “Get ready. I’m going to look for restaurants worthy of our partnership. I have just the right one in mind. It’s going to be fun.” Jeremy smiled at her. “Yes Sir.” She turned around. Although, her blood boiled at the sound of excitement. She had noted that this boss of her was the one to pull drama towards him. The kind of ones she liked. Jeremy walked to the main hall. He rested on the wall, waiting for Amy. He looked down, a frown appearing on his face. “I have to change these clothes.” He mumbled. “Tomorrow would be perfect,” He smiled at himself. Unknown to him, there was an uproar among the workers when they sighted his presence. “Isn’t that the cruel boss?” “I heard he fired two people and demoted six on his first day.”

Jeremy narrowed his eyes into slits, staring at the man in front of him. He knew the manager had only one choice. To follow him or to expose himself to the police. “You’d get yourself implicated if you cover up what I have done.” The manager refused to go down with a fight. “Amy, did I make any offer?” Jeremy looked at his assistant. An innocent look on his face. “No sir, you didn’t.” Amy answered, her eyes conveyed the meaning to the manager. The manager inhaled a sharp breath. He had dug his own grave by holding the meeting behind closed doors. “You see, there’s only one choice. What would you go for?” The corners of Jeremy’s lips lifted up in a smile. The manager clenched his fists. Jeremy was right. “How do I proceed and what do you want from me?” “You would work with me even after I buy the company. The salary I’d pay you for a year would clear up the mess you have made. I’d start paying you the nex

“Once he comes back to the city, you should be able to trap him in your claws.” Ariel listened to the voice on the phone. It had not been something she had expected but it was a good news nonetheless. A very good one. “So you have any idea when he would be back?” She asked, sitting on her bed. It had been weeks past and she had not been allowed into her company by the security guards. “He would be back in two days, Ma’am.” The person at the other side, quickly answered. “Thank you Bella. Do remember to always keep a watch on him. I need it.” Ariel replied, ending the call. She had promised to go with her brother to see a certain person today. It wouldn’t be exciting but at least, she could remind him of their contract. “It’d be best to terminate it now when I see him in such humiliating state.” Ariel said to herself. That was the best option she had. Getting rid of Jeremy and all his

“That’s a sovereign card.” “I heard there’s only 3 of them in the whole world.” “What kind of big shot is this?” Due to the fact that most of the people present were top billionaires. They all recognized that single card, and knew its effects. This card has been shown and displayed around every corners of the billionaire world and everyone wanted it. The slight problem was it was too expensive for even a billionaire to handle. One would have to sell more than half of his property to get such a large amount. They would even be in debt. It wasn’t worth it. Therefore, everyone had given up on it except for 3 wealthy humans. Jeremy was related to both of them. One was Lady Verde, and the other was his dreaded father. He didn’t know the third person but he couldn’t wait to find them out soon. A wry smile appeared on Jeremy’s face when he saw the reaction of the crowd. The human mind was really shall

Ariel’s eyes widened in surprise. “What did you say to me?” She stood up from her teeth, gritting her teeth. The scrapping of the lower part of the chair alerted the people around her. “I asked if you ran away from the city's mental hospital.” Jeremy maintained his gaze, his eyes narrowed at her expression. He wondered how she felt, taking a taste of her own medicine. Ariel had no words to say. It was Jeremy had punched her in the chest without doing anything but simply standing there. She wanted to retort but it seemed like her voice was held back. Ariel took a good look at Jeremy. Why did he have such a look of disdain on his face? Did she think she was worthless? Her face twisted in anger. “You!” However, before she could fully retort, someone else had taken the opportunity. “Don’t you dare speak to my sister like that?” The voice was familiar, causing Jeremy to turn around. It was Noah, the man wh

The guards moved in closer, ready to hold them. “Don’t lay your hands on them.” Jeremy ordered, surprising the siblings. He looked at Ariel, his eyes softened. “I’m sorry for hitting you. I should have hit your brother instead when you made the mistake. It’s his fault for not training you.” Jeremy said, his voice held Ariel in a gaze. Noah almost coughed blood when he heard Jeremy’s statement. “The audacity.” “Noah! Let’s go.” Ariel said, walking out of this restaurant. Noah clenched and unclenched his fist, but he followed his sister. Deep in his heart, he knew he would have to make Jeremy pay for all this troubles. Ariel just didn’t need to know of his plan. Noah thought about what the manager had said. “Jeremy, the owner of the restaurant? There has to be some foul play going on.” Noah whispered to himself, entering the ca

Amy wasn’t surprised to hear that her boss planned to buy some new clothes. In fact, she was excited, hoping to show her fashion skills. “You want to get new clothes, Sir.” Amy confirmed. Jeremy raised his head. “And buy the company.” A smile appeared on his face. After his experience with Yuan’s boutique, he was rather surprised by the amount of people shopping in her building. It felt rather cool. He imagined how it would be if those people were in his own company. Amy drove Jeremy to the biggest boutique in the city. This was her go-to area to get the best wears. She was glad to share it with her boss. It wasn’t a problem. “This is the place?” Jeremy asked when he stepped out of the car. “Yes boss. It has the best attires and even all sizes. What ever design you choose will be tailored to suit you.” Amy was filled with praise concerning the shop. The building was rather large. Jeremy was sure there w

“Daneel! It’s been a long while.” Jeremy’s smile widened into a grin. “How long has it been? Since high school? You haven’t changed a bit, still the scrappy looking Collins uhn?” Daneel said. He stepped closer to give Jeremy a hug. “It’s good to see you man. Why are you here? Do you need a job? If you do, you can count on your old friend to help you.” Daneel was all smiles when he spoke. “Thanks Daneel. I’d appreciate that. I’m still that scrappy boy, but I’m not looking for a job. I wanted to get a haircut.” Jeremy glanced at the barber’s shop that Daneel had walked out from. “Oh. Okay then. That shop is expensive though. Would you be able to pay? I can help you out. We should catch up.” Daneel took a look at the lady beside Jeremy, wondering where his schoolmate got such a hot girl. “Don’t worry, thank you. I can work that out too. It’s really nice seeing you. I think that lady is looking for you.” Jeremy said.

“Can I?” Fred looked up at Jeremy with wide eyes. He couldn’t believe he was doing this. Being in contact with a sovereign card was unimaginable. He would boast to his friends about it all. Jeremy stretched out the card and Fred took it. His fingers traced the outline of the card in amazement. It was truly something real. “Thank you for this opportunity sir. I wouldn’t forget this.” Fred said with a grateful heart. From what he had heard, Jeremy was obviously a rich man. Fred didn’t know how he could repay this man either but he was sure he owed this man. Jeremy smiled, nodding his head. “I’ll speak to Ariel about you. I can’t afford owing someone now that I’m like this.” Jeremy said. He remembered how he would always borrow for anything he needed. Now that he was wealthy, he would never want to owe someone. He would ensure he brought a smile to people’s face. His aunt had given him a blessing. He would
