CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE From a distance, he could already see Aria and Jasmine uniting with each other amidst the hugs and empathetic comments that followed. “I thought you guys didn’t know each other.” He said with an inquisitive expression, moving his eyes from one of the ladies to the other. “We don’t,” Jasmine said, turning to Adrian with a smile. “She looks so much like her mother. It was hard not to recognize her as soon as I saw her walking toward me.” Adrian nodded, and then he took a deep breath, looking at the other ladies who were very exhausted. Reminded of what Aria had done earlier, he turned to her, and the smile on his face vanished at once. “What was that all about?” He asked, glaring at her. “I…” Aria stuttered, looking down in shame. Jasmine stared at her for a while, and then she turned to Adrian. “What did she do?” She asked, but Adrian didn’t even bother to look at her, still glaring at her. “Do you want to get yourself killed?!” He asked, and Aria shook her

CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO “We will do it!” One of the guards said, lifting his hands and gesturing to Adrian not to kill the lady.“We will do it...” He repeated, and urging his cohort, he kicked his gun away from himself, and then he waited for him to do the same. “Good.” Adrian nodded in satisfaction. “Now turn around.” He instructed, still holding onto the lady’s neck and ready to snap. The man obeyed at once, fighting the urge to turn around. Adrian turned to the lady, watching as she was panting, gripped by intense apprehension. “I hope this is going to teach you a lesson! Calling me a servant!” he snarled, and the lady nodded distraughtly. But it was hard to tell what exactly she was responding to.Adrian began to push her toward the van, and as soon as they were close enough, he smashed the window of the driver’s position with his right elbow without letting go of the lady even when she winced, thinking that some of the pieces of the glass were going to touch her. “Don’t try to b

CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE“I don’t think I can lose them!” Jasmine panicked, frightened by the sound of the gunshots. She tried to hold onto the steering wheel with tight grips since her hands were beginning to get very slippery, her heart sinking deep into her belly.“You need to drive faster, Jasmine!” Adrian urged, then opened the back of the van, gesturing to the ladies to stay in hidden corners. The moment he opened fire at the SUV wheeling after them, the driver was forced to slow down, moments before Adrian put a bullet into his chest, shattering the glass. The car stopped as soon as the driver stepped on the brakes while he took his last breath, and the other driver behind him almost hit him, scratching the back of the SUV. Adrian gunned down the remaining guards in the first SUV and then he faced the seconds, holding onto the gun tightly.Moments later, the bikers showed up, drifting past the second SUV and taking out their guns. They opened fire at Adrian at once, causing him

CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR Adrian took a deep breath and chuckled to the surprise of the ladies who had expected him to be as nervous as they were.Calmly and with his eyes still looking upward, he turned on the ignition of the car and drove off before the drone could spot them. Throughout the ride, none of them said a word, and in less than forty minutes, Adrian was already back to where he had left from. Aria woke Jasmine up after she had fallen asleep barely ten minutes into the ride, receiving fresh air for the first time since she was captured. Gerald was seated in his wheelchair alone in front of the house, and seeing the car approaching, he lifted his face to look at it, taking a deep breath. He looked steadily, zooming in on the car until he was able to see his daughter. Then he replaced his drained and nervous expression with a smile, feeling the sensation that gripped his entire body. Adrian pulled over in front of him, and then he turned to Aria, staring her in the eyes. “I

CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE Adrian grunted the moment the old man referred to him by the name that brought some of the memories that he was trying so hard to get rid of. “Seven is not my name, old man. My name is Adrian, and you should call me that,”Gerald grunted, shaking his head in refusal.“You know that’s not going to be possible.” He stood on his firm resolve, causing Adrian to grunt. “I would never call you by that name. seven sounds better, it reminds me of the past when the glory belonged to me.” He was silent for a while, but Adrian was certain that he still had some other things to say, staring at him with a deadpan expression. “Let’s stick with Seven, shall we? It makes me happier calling you that.”Adrian scoffed, and then he nodded without changing his expression. “Well, it doesn’t matter.” He retorted with a wry smile, and then he took a deep breath.“You are never going to see me again, old man. I believe that we are even now, and whatever holds us together has lost its

CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX “Since you returned from that place, you have barely said a word to me, Adrian.” Elara lamented, staring Adrian in the eyes. She waited for a response, but even after a few seconds, it didn’t seem like Adrian was ready to say a word to her. He just sat down quietly on the bed, looking at nothing in particular as he stared out through the casement window. Elara still didn’t want to give up, insisting that she get an answer before she let Adrian be. “I am about to become your wife, Adrian.” She paused for a few seconds, taking a deep breath.“If there is anyone else you should be keeping secrets from, then it shouldn’t be me. I am not just anyone to you.”“I never said that.” Adrian cut her short, and finally, he was looking her in the eyes, taking a deep breath. He slowly pushed himself up and walked up to her. “Elara?” He called out even though she was staring him in the eyes.He sighed, and then he sat next to her, holding onto his smile. “I need you to unde

CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN For a few seconds, the middle-aged man remained silent. He had seen a version of Adrian that he was not expecting.Right from the moment Adrian opened the door, he had noticed his aura, but it didn’t seem as though it was as intense as it was the moment he saw his chest moving up an down, an evidence of the anger fuming inside him. “Are you going to tell me why you are here or do I have to beat it out of you?!” Adrian was finally losing his patience, staring into the man’s eyes with fire burning in his orbs. This left a sudden reaction inside the middle-aged man, but he was very quick to get a grip on himself, swearing not to be intimidated by someone who was young enough to be his son. “My name is Dennis Peterson.” He said calmly, but because he had not said anything meaningful, Adrian was still staring silently at him with curiosity etched all over his face. “I was sent by my boss to tell you to leave this building.” Dennis blurted, leaving Adrian stunned.

CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT Adrian continued staring at the middle-aged man’s face for a few more seconds, and then he slowly moved his hand to the paper he was holding onto.“What is this?” He asked with a glower, returning his gaze to his face.“Why don’t you read what it contains.” Dennis urged, and even though Adrian wasn’t sure that he was in such mood, he decided to oblige him. “Let me have it.” He said with a deadpan expression, and then he grabbed the paper from Dennis. Slowly, he unfolded the paper, and then he read what was written on it.His eyes widened as he glanced through the words down to the signature. “What is this?” He asked, looking up to Dennis’ face, feeling the rage burning inside him. “I am sure that you are not dumb, or are you?” Dennis retorted, causing Adrian to grunt in annoyance.“What you have just read is a copy of the ownership certificate given to my boss from the person he purchased this property from. It no longer belongs to you, so you should leave.”

CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE Dennis was taken aback by the words he heard from Elara. For a few seconds, he stared at her, waiting for the moment when she was going to take back her words, but she never did.Instead, she kept on glaring at him like he had become her greatest enemy.“How do you know this man?” Dennis broke the silence, holding onto his peskiness. “He is my husband.” Elara said proudly, and even with the reaction he got from the middle-aged man, he still insisted on holding onto her words. “Why are you here? What’s the issue? You were banging so hard on the door.” “That’s right,” Dennis nodded, and then he pointed to Adrian with a wry smile. “Your husband is a thief, Miss Elara. He stile what belongs to another.” Elara scoffed, and then she turned to Adrian with wide eyes. “What’s this man talking about?” She asked, but Adrian wasn’t sure of where to begin the explanation from. “Go ahead! Tell her!” Dennis sneered, pointing to the paper Adrian was holding.“Tell her how y

CHAPTER SEVENTY “Let go of me!” Dennis barked, struggling to pull away from Adrian’s grip.He strained and grunted, but no matter how hard he tried to break free, all his efforts were wasted. “You have just made things very difficult for yourself, Adrian! Do you know what I can do to you?!” His eyes sparked with anger, and he intended to instill fear into Adrian’s body. He battled with all his efforts, but they were useless. No matter what he said, he couldn’t regain his freedom, and this continued until he began to lose air, gradually getting choked by Adrian’s grip. “Let me go! You are choking me!” He groaned, wheezing as his eyes turned red, crawling inside. “You have such a big mouth for someone about to die by my hands.” Adrian snarled at him, his eyes burning with rage. “Why don’t you try begging, Dennis? Maybe I will spare your worthless life!” “Never!” Dennis barked, his voice barely above a whisper, drained by both weakness and apprehension. His pride couldn’t let him
