The Meeting
The following morning, Jaxon was early enough so he could meet up with the time. He set for the meeting. No one would question him if he were to come late, but he would not want to behave like that. “Mr. President, the car is ready. I already have the chef pack an early morning snack we can take along. I will order some food for you as soon as we are done with the meeting. Let me know if there’s anything you want me to change,” Felix said. And Jaxon shook his head. He didn’t get any sleep. He kept thinking about the things that Paul said to him. “No, that’s fine. You don’t need to change anything. Since we are both ready and good to go, we should head out to the company already,” he said. And Felix opened the door for him, leading the way with his briefcase in his hand. There was no one in the sitting room as they passed by. They were all still in their various rooms, enjoying their sleep. Well, they could enjoy that while it lasted. They wouldn’t be this lucky for so long anymo
Reminder
Mr. Thomas didn’t know what to say. At that point, he would have to call Mr. Diego and ask him to put his son-in-law in order. This was becoming irritating, and he couldn’t stand it anymore. Just who did he think he was to tell him what to do? So what if he was the President? Mr. Greyson already assured him he was only there for a while. He was going to be the next president of the group soon enough. He couldn’t be taking orders from this boy. “I’m sure you heard what I said, Mr. Thomas. I don’t like to repeat myself,” Jaxon said. And Mr. Thomas only nodded his head. He couldn’t bring himself to say anything in response to him. Jaxon could see what was going on. He could see how very proud and arrogant he was. And he would be the one to clip his wings in ways he would never have thought possible. “And let this be the last time you will ever question me or my authority. I’m in a good mood today, but you might not be that lucky next time. I don’t know what I might do if this happ
Shocker
Thomas didn’t care. He would do or say anything to get what he wanted. If he had to use what he knew against him, then he would happily do that. He wasn’t going to stand by and allow Mr. Greyson to toss him aside after using him all this while. “I’m sorry that it comes that way, Mr. Greyson, but that is not my intention. I’m just reminding you of the promise you made to me. It’s the only reason why I’ve been helping you all this while and nothing more. I’m sure you don’t want anyone to know about our little secret, so call your son-in-law and put him to order. There’s no way I’m taking orders from him. Just who the hell does he think he is? This is pathetic, and I can’t believe it,” Thomas said. And Diego was amused. “This is exactly what happens when you give a fool power. I know I should have killed you a long time ago. But trust me when I say it’s never too late — I can still kill you even right this minute. Now you listen to me very well. Let this be the last time you will
All of a sudden
“I don’t know what to think either. I’m so confused about this whole thing. I don’t know how to react to it, but I’m guessing we have to make sure we keep a close eye on him. I’m not going to have him hurt my mother in any way. We need to stop him. He has to stop as this is becoming annoying. In a way, he’s just a selfish man who wants to have his way in everything. And at the same time, he doesn’t want to face the consequences of his actions. We are not going to let him go scot-free like that. I’m not going to let you go scot-free, Paul,” Jaxon vowed. And Felix agreed with him. They were still watching the video when they heard a knock, and Jaxon turned the video off immediately. He couldn’t let anyone know about his mother. Felix went on to open the door, and to their surprise, it was the head of the accounting department, Mr. Thomas, who was at the door. “Is anything the problem at all?” Jaxon asked mockingly. He could see how gloomy his face was. He probably didn’t want to
Rolling dice
James picked up his call, and Felix stretched the phone towards Jaxon, who took the phone from him. “James, I need you to get something down to the Greyson Group right away. I need something like a tracker, but that can also record whatever the wearer is saying. Do you understand? I’m sure you have something like that in one of your collections,” Jaxon said. And James was pretty excited. He liked it when things like this came up. He liked adventure and new challenges. “All right, Mr. President, trust me when I say that is not a problem at all. I’m going to get it across to you right now. I’ll be in the parking lot and will let you know right away when I get there,” James said. And Jaxon ended the call. “You want to put a tracker on Thomas? That’s a smart move. You see, I knew you were going to be tough and smart, just like your father,” Felix said. And Jaxon nodded his head. “Of course, thanks a lot for the hype. I’m flattered. Anyway, that’s not even the important thing now.
The dice
Jaxon paced his office all around waiting for some good news. He trusted Felix to do a very good job, but he really couldn’t help but worry. And he was bound to be like this. Unless something changed somehow, it wasn’t over until it was over—until the job was done. He had no business being calm. Suddenly, the door to his office opened, and Felix walked into the office with the box in his hands. “You were able to get that stuff on him, right? Please tell me, because I can’t hear anything, and I have this thing plugged into my ear, but he’s not saying anything. If I have to tie him and put that tracker on him, then I will. I need to know what’s happening to him,” Jaxon said. And Felix was only smiling and didn’t say anything in response. “Well, what do you think? That I’m going to leave his office without getting the job done? You’ve probably not turned on the recorder. That’s why you’re not hearing anything,” Felix said. And Jaxon was extremely delighted to hear that. He took t
Bad News
Jaxon was surprised by what he just said. Now he has finally succeeded in killing her, despite everything he knew they should have done something about this earlier. But he was busy with other things, and now things have gone out of hand. Georgia hugged Diego and cried out her heart. The poor woman didn’t know that her husband was the one killing her daughter. “What exactly happened, Mrs. Greyson? What are the doctors saying? Is Mr. Greyson there with them? Mr. President, you should go in there and see for yourself what’s going on. We can’t just stand here and do nothing,” Felix said. He felt sorry as well, but crying over it would solve nothing. And he would like to know exactly what happened. “No, you can’t go in there. The doctor is with her, and Diego is not in here at all. He took Paul out of the house so he didn’t notice anything was going on. He was going to give her some medicine as usual, and I followed him this time after we had that talk last night. I just really want
Sowing Seeds
The doctor was surprised by what he had just heard. He was not expecting that the President would be chasing him out of the room in such a manner. He needed to speak to Mr. Greyson right away. He obviously wouldn’t let himself be chased out of this house like that. “Mr. President, you have to understand that I care about your wife as much as you do. You are making a huge mistake by not allowing me to perform this surgery on her. All we are doing is in a bid for her to recover, and you have to understand that, please. You have to leave now so I can do my job,” the doctor said. And Jaxon scoffed. He must think he was joking—that’s the reason why he was still negotiating words with him. He took one of the scissors on the table there and pointed it at the shocked doctor. He wasn’t expecting to see the President this aggressive. Just what in the world was wrong with him? “Now, you have just two options: you either do as I say, or you die. And we both know if I kill you right now, I w
Chasing the cat
Georgia could not bring herself to understand what exactly it was they were getting at. She could see where they were taking it, but she refused to believe it. How could a doctor possibly harm his child? He wouldn’t do that. He had been their doctor for as long as she could remember, doing anything they asked of him, and Diego paid him handsomely for that. There’s no way he’s working for someone else. The only way this is possible is if the other person is Diego himself. She quickly shook the thought away. How could she think of something like that? Mary is his daughter. He wouldn’t come down to the level of hurting his child, right? He wouldn’t do that. She shook her head and turned to look at Jaxon, who had a smirk on his face. He must confess that he’s enjoying this. He could see her fighting hard not to believe the things he’s saying. “Mom, you have to tell Dad. He needs to have that doctor investigated. I can only imagine who he’s answering to and how much he’s being paid t
Setting the Mood
They got to the dining area, and of truth, Georgia had the chefs prepare Diego’s best food. Paul and Georgia looked at each other, both of them wondering what was going on with her. She seemed quite invested tonight. She must be in a good mood today. “Do you mind telling me what’s going on with you? I can’t remember the last time you cared about what it is that has been prepared in this house. Do you mind telling me what’s going on?” he asked her. And she smiled at him, not saying anything or responding to him at all. “Well, nothing is going on. I’m just in a good mood today, and it’s been a while since we had such a swell moment, so I just wanted to set the mood. Don’t you like the idea?” she asked. And Diego looked at her as he didn’t know what to say to her. “Of course, it’s a good idea. I never knew that was what you intended to achieve. What about you, son? What is it that you wanted to discuss with me? I’m hoping it’s nothing serious at all. Does it have to do with the co
