Dark past
It’s been one week, and both Jaxon and Felix have not been able to do anything for fear of Diego catching them. They have just been going about their daily lives as if nothing happened. Diego, however, has also been really careful with his dealings. He has put off his plans for now. He believes what Jaxon said to him the other day, but he still needs to be careful. That way, he can guarantee that nothing will happen to him or his plans. Diego was working on some paperwork when he heard a knock on the door. “Come inside,” he said. And Georgia came into the study with a tray in her hands. She dropped the tray on the table and picked up the teapot. She poured some tea for them and pushed it to his side. “Thanks, Georgia. You really should not have bothered bringing this here. You know I would prefer to take some alcohol, right?” he asked her, and she smiled. “And I’m sure you know that is not good for your health, and you should not be talking about it right here. Have some tea. It’
Deep waters
Felix heard his phone ring and picked it up. It was the hacker he called earlier today that called him back. “The hacker is calling me. I have to pick this up right now,” he said, and picked the call up. He moved to where Jaxon was seated and placed the phone on speaker so he could hear him as well. “Tell him what you have. All I want to hear from you right now is that you have the address that I need. If not, you might want to end this call and continue working harder,” he said. “I have the address. I don't know if you want to come over there now. I checked the building out myself, as I couldn't find any record of it. The building is not registered, and it's in a secluded part of town. There's something fishy going on, for sure, and I want to believe you will uncover so many truths there,” the hacker said, and they both looked at each other. “We will be able to leave the company in two hours. Meet us at the restaurant opposite the Greyson Group. There's a back exit we can go thro
A Dead end
“So you are trying to say that the person Clara calls all the time is dead?” Jaxon asked him. “Well, I don't know for sure, Mr. President, but we are about to find out,” he said. And Jaxon looked at Felix with confusion written all over his face. The whole thing gets confusing every day. They need to uncover the truth as soon as possible. That's the only solution here. Jaxon just hopes they will be able to find something tangible there. If she has been talking to a dead person all this while, that can only mean she's a crazy person, and she needed help. “Then probably this whole thing is a farce, and coming here might be a wrong move,” Felix pointed out. “What if this is a trap by Diego to confirm his suspicion of us?” Jaxon asked, also stating a very valid opinion, even though he doesn't believe what he just said. “It's a possibility that should not be overlooked. Whatever it is, we won't be able to find out if we don't check. All of this may be a trap, like you said, Mr. Presi
Not Dead
“What’s that, Mr. President?” Felix asked as he turned toward the direction in which he was pointing at the President. “I don't know if I'm mistaken, but I thought I saw something like a door over there,” Jaxon said, and began to walk in that direction. He made his way there, and Felix didn't have a choice but to follow after him. James had to join them. There was no way he was going to be left alone there. “If you ask me, I don't think there's anyone here. We have been checking, and there's nothing that shows someone is living here. I think this house has been deserted already,” James said. And they both thought about what he said. “I don't know what to think right now, and we don't have much time left to spend here, Mr. President. Are you sure the calls that were made by Clara were made to this place?” Felix asked, and James nodded his head. “I swear it. There's no way I'm mistaken about it. I'm checking again. And this building right here is the place where the calls are bei
Deal Breakers
“What is going on here?” Jaxon came into the room and met Felix on his knees, weeping and crying. He could only wonder what was going on with him. James watched what was going on as he looked from afar. “What’s the problem, Felix?” Jaxon asked, and Felix didn’t say anything for a while. He walked up to the woman lying lifeless on the bed and took her hand into his. He caressed her hand and kissed her on the forehead. The woman on the bed opened her eyes and couldn’t move any part of her body. “Mrs. Houston. Mrs. Houston, you are alive. My goodness, you are alive!” he said, and began crying out the more. “Felix, who is this woman? Do you know her? I was beginning to think she’s your mother with the way you got emotional seeing her here. I can’t believe this is who they have been hiding here all this while,” Jaxon said. “Now I see the reason why the woman on the other side of the phone won’t speak. It’s because she can’t speak, actually,” James said, and walked up to the land phon
Deep Truth
“She’s your mother, Jaxon. Mr. and Mrs. Houston are your parents. That is the truth I’ve been hiding from you. Come here,” Felix said, and pulled him towards Mrs. Houston’s bed. “Mrs. Houston, I know you can hear me. This is your son, Jaxon. The baby in that picture is him. He’s the one you have been looking for,” Felix said, and brought Jaxon to her. Jaxon wanted to retract his hand, but Felix didn’t let him. Mrs. Houston could not do anything, so she could only blink her eyes. “I will explain everything to you, but please just hold her hands. She has been looking for you for so long, please, Mr. President,” Felix said. And Jaxon did as he said. He got closer to the bed and touched Mrs. Houston by the hand. For the first time in so many years, she was able to react emotionally. She shed a tear and blinked her eyes as many times as possible. Felix chuckled happily. “Yes, Mrs. Houston, he’s your son. Look at him, all grown up now. He’s your son, Jaxon,” Felix said, and cried even
Painful Past Reveal
“So what you are saying is that your father worked with my parents, that are Mr. and Mrs. Houston?” Jaxon asked, and he nodded his head. “Yes, exactly. My parents worked there. My mother worked there as one of the maids. Now I remember, Mrs. Clara — she was your nanny. She loved you so much. That must be the reason why she was able to recognize your eyes. She was so convinced you were the baby she was looking for,” Felix said, and began to cry. “How could I have been so careless as that? It was my fault that she died. If only I remembered her, I would have sent her somewhere safe to hide. Now she’s dead, and we can’t even tell where to begin searching for clues. Mrs. Houston is in a vegetative state; she can’t be of any help to us,” Felix said. Wiping the tears off his face, he cleared his throat so he would be able to speak. He looked at Jaxon, who had already sat on the bed waiting for the rest of the story. “Diego Greyson worked under your father as a junior associate. Back th
More Of It
“What happened when you got home?” Jaxon asked. He could tell something terrible had happened. He could already guess what it was, but he didn’t want to jump to any conclusion right now. “When I got home, it was a pool of blood. Everyone was dead, and I didn’t even know where to start looking. I went first to the kitchen, and I found my mother there, shot in the head. I cried and screamed for help, but there was no one to help us. I went to the staff quarters, and my dad was dead too,” he said, and cried out more as he remembered carrying his mother in his hands, with his shirt all covered in blood. “I was hoping he would not be, but he was. Diego killed both my parents. He killed yours too. He killed everyone at the Houston Mansion. The police came, and I was taken into shelter,” Felix added. “I heard later on that someone stole the money and every other document belonging to the Houston family in the safe that same night. That was what I caught him doing that night at the study.
Getting to Know More
“I don’t care what I have to do or how I have to do it, but I’m going to make sure that you regret ever treating my family the way you did. I’m going to break you bit by bit until you wish that you had never come to this world,” Jaxon said, and everyone stayed silent as they didn’t know what to say anymore. Felix stood there and watched him in pain, as he didn’t know how to console him. “We have spent almost two hours here, Mr. President. We should leave already so I can disable the function that I set up. We don’t want anyone coming to look for us,” he said. And Jaxon turned to look at him. “Yes, you are right about that. We should leave already. I don’t want anyone to get suspicious about things, especially Diego. Let’s leave now. But will she be fine while we are gone?” Felix asked, and Jaxon moved to him. “I don’t know, but this is the best we can do now. We can’t take her away from here. Now I’m starting to think we should not have told her about me. Now, I’m sure she’s eag
The Big Shocker
Jaxon and Felix arrived at the Greyson Mansion, and it looked as if a feast was going on. Both Felix and Jaxon looked at each other, wondering what it was that was going on. “There he is. The gold digger of the family is here. I hope you will be able to survive for long in this family before falling out. Oh, of course, you won’t be able to do that. Because very soon my brother will realize that what he’s doing is very foolish — entrusting the entire fortune of the Greyson family into the hands of a nobody,” Frieda said. And Jaxon laughed softly. If only she knew who the real owners of all of these things were. Jaxon moved forward and grabbed Frieda by the neck. She wasn’t expecting that, so there was no way she could have stopped it from happening. “Now, you listen to me very well, Frieda, or whatever it is that you answer to. Let this be the very last time that you will ever speak to me in such a manner. I’m not some person that you can trample upon whenever you wish to. I may ha
