A resolute mind
"I think we are here now, Mr President. This is the exact location on the map. There's no way that I'm mistaken," Felix said and pushed the gate open. Jaxon could not help but wonder what was happening. He doubted if he could stay still without asking any questions. "Felix, I want to ask you a question," he said. Felix turned to look at him. He knew now was not the right time, but knowing him, he probably wouldn't let him be unless he told him what he wanted to hear. "What is the problem?" Felix asked. "Diego said you were the one that chose me to be the one to marry Mary. I guess it's not a coincidence. You didn't just pick me because you wanted to pick me. There are tons of men you could have chosen to do this, but you chose me instead," Jaxon said. Felix nodded his head. "Well, I guess you have guessed right. It's not a coincidence. I have been watching and following you for years, then I waited for the right time and opportunity to bring you into the Greyson family
A glimpse of truth
"I need you to understand me, Jaxon, these people will do anything to stay in power. He's power-drunk, and he will stop at nothing to remain on top. Even at the expense of others. He doesn't mind killing everyone in this city. He will have to make sure his secret doesn't get exposed," Felix said, and Jaxon stared at him for a while, not knowing exactly what to say to him at first. "Just who are you? If I didn't know better, I would have said you are my elder brother or something close to that. I'm not going to back down, Felix. I know you are saying all of this because you care about me and you don't want to see me hurt," Jaxon started as he walked towards Felix. "But this is my fight, as much as it is yours. I don't know what Diego Greyson must have done to you. I don't know what happened in the past. Even though I have asked you several times, about which you have refused to tell me, that's fine. I'm not going to force you to tell me something you don't feel the need to," he c
Caught in the act
Jaxon and Felix made their way inside the house and began to search everywhere. And as much as they could, they didn't want to take any chances or miss any opportunity. Just like Felix suspected, the entire house had been cleared, and there was nothing more to look at. "There's nothing in here. What should we do now?" Jaxon asked, and Felix stood there feeling somehow frustrated. There was no way he was going to let that woman die for nothing. He should be able to find out something that can serve as evidence against Diego Greyson. "Somewhere around here... I'm getting more confused by the day. I've been working with the Greyson Group for the past seven years. I've not been able to find anything yet. Diego Greyson is very good when it comes to covering up his tracks, but I'm not going to let this go just like that, right?" he asked. And Jaxon walked up to him. "I may not know what happened back then, but this fight is as much mine as it's yours. You said it yourself that I'm the
More clues
Jaxon immediately recognized that voice. It was Diego Greyson. He shut his eyes and rubbed his temples slightly. Right now, he had no idea what to even do with himself. There's no way they will be able to convince Diego to think otherwise unless they are both able to come up with something very convincing. Immediately, he thought of something and smiled. He hoped that this would work. Jaxon looked at Felix and smiled at him. Felix wondered what was wrong with him. Now was not the time to play some silly games. "I'm going to get you fired, and there's nothing you will be able to do about it. Why didn’t you let me take one more bottle? One bottle was all I asked for," Jaxon said, trying his best to stammer so his acting would be more believable. He pretended to stagger, tilting his head as he walked forward. Felix immediately understood what he was trying to do and quickly held his hand. "Let me go, you betrayer! Why didn’t you let me drink more? I won’t ever forgive you unless yo
The stalker
“All right, I will tell you where to meet me up so we can discuss this. Please don't be late and be very discreet with whatever it is you are doing. And no one can find out about this,” Felix said, and ended the call. “Do you think we are going to finally get to the bottom of this?” Jaxon asked him, and Felix didn't know what to say. He can't guarantee anything for sure right now. “I don't know, Mr. President. I guess we are going to have to wait for whatever is in there, but right now we have to attend a series of meetings. Once we are done with that, we will meet up with the hacker. I will text him the address as soon as I find the perfect spot for us to talk. We can't be careless with something like this, Mr. President,” he said. And Jaxon agreed with him. “You are right about that, Felix. Come on. We should leave now,” Jaxon said. And they both made their way to the presidential floor so they could begin the work for the day. Meanwhile, one of the Black Knights had been watch
Flashback
They both got inside the restaurant and made their way to the VIP section. Felix wanted to have the discussion privately, so he rented out the entire VIP section for that period. He can't take any risk, as it is, it's going to be too dangerous for him to do that. "Mr. Felix, you are here, and you must be President Jaxon," the hacker said, as he welcomed them both. "I trust you are doing well. Thanks for meeting up with us despite your busy schedule. We appreciate that. Now tell us everything that you have got. We don't have much time to spend here," Felix said, as they all took their seats. "So here is the phone you gave to me and asked that I check. I went through everything and even checked the records. And I'm telling you that this woman has only been communicating with one person her entire life. I've checked again and again, and she calls just one person," the guy said. And both Felix and Jaxon looked at each other, wondering what he was talking about. "I don't understand.
Plan B
Diego stopped in his tracks and sat back on the chair. He would like to see the end of this whole thing. He can't believe he was almost falling for their tricks. He sat there and put a call through to the Black Knight he sent to keep a tab on them. “As soon as they leave that restaurant, bring them to me at the underground house. I'm sure they must have an explanation for this, right?” Diego asked and mumbled some more words before ending the call. Meanwhile, Jaxon and Felix sat there in the restaurant with the hacker, thinking of the next thing to do. Jaxon couldn't help but feel restless, no matter how many times he had tried to calm himself down. “You need to calm down. You know that, right? This will take you nowhere. We just need to find a solution to this now,” Felix said, and Jaxon turned to face them both. The hacker was about to talk when he noticed something on Jaxon’s suit. “What is that?” he asked, pointing. And both Felix and Jaxon looked in the direction of his fi
Clearer View
We told him we met it at the entrance of your office this morning. Get into the system of the Greyson Group and delete all files from last night up till this morning. We have to make sure that our story will be bought by everyone.” Felix answered, after thinking about the matter critically. “That works well,” Jaxon said, agreeing with him. “I want to believe you know how to make yourself invisible. Make sure that Diego doesn't find you no matter what. And one more thing — trace the calls the woman has been making. We need to find out where the calls have been going and who she's talking to,” Felix said. “You have no problem. I will do as you have said. And Diego Greyson can never catch me. I would like to see him try it,” the hacker said confidently. “Don't get ahead of yourself. Just make sure that you are careful. I can't afford anything bad to happen to you, so you have to be careful with what you are doing. And one more thing — is it possible to transfer everything from that
The interrogation
Felix looked at Jaxon, who already seemed to be panicking. He found a way to reach out to him by touching his hand. Jaxon felt a little bit more relieved. He should have known the kind of person he was dealing with already. They were both taken to the underground house. Not even Felix had the slightest idea where the place was located. He has tried several times to get the location, but he never succeeded — only Diego and the top Black Knights know and have access to the place. They arrived at the place and were brought out of the car. They were blindfolded in the car. On their way there, Felix couldn't see a thing, and that got him frustrated. But he will make sure to use the opportunity of him being here to good use. He will find out one or two things before leaving here. They were both taken to a place, and when they arrived there, they were made to sit on a chair, and the blindfolds were taken off. The first thing Felix did after his eyes were free, was to look for Jaxon. He
Narrow Escape
Jaxon went on his knees and began crying. He held Diego by the leg. He needed to make this look very convincing. That’s the only way this is going to work out. “I’m sorry, Dad, for not telling you about this. I just didn’t want you to think I wasn’t capable of taking care of myself. That was why I sought out the woman myself, especially after I found out that she died, and the note and the phone were lying right at the entrance of my office,” Jaxon said. Diego didn’t know what to believe right now. A part of him was saying, It’s all a lie. Then again, he doesn’t have anything tangible against him. From the look of things in the conversation he heard, it seems as if he’s telling the truth — but he can’t be gullible enough to believe all he’s saying now. “So tell me, where’s the note you saw?” he asked, and he immediately brought out the note and the phone and handed it over to Diego. He took it and read the note. “There’s nothing much in there. Don’t bother finding me. I left this
