NOTE: THEY'LL BE OTHER EROTIC SERIES AFTER THIS STORY, SO STAY TUNED FOR MORE. DON'T FORGET TO DROP A REVIEW ON THE BOOK. Unbeknownst to Olivia, Greg was receiving the same kind of dressing down from Morpheus from Olivia through their connection. In truth, Greg could feel a cold chill creeping down his back at just how close to disaster he'd come. If his mana pathways weren't tempered during his awakening, he probably would have dissolved his mana pathways with the desperate move he'd just taken. But while Greg was nervous about how close he'd come to disaster, the ire of both Morpheus and Olivia didn't move him at all. The two of them had made it clear, while they wouldn't be happy if she died or was crippled, they also weren't willing to move a finger to help his teacher. And in reality, that is all that it would take. With how powerful the two entities were, they could have easily dissolved what little remained of his teacher's mana pathways without expending any effort. And yet,

Greg was silent for a second as he contemplated the question. In the end, he shook his head. "Not really, no," he answered genuinely. "I didn't even think of you when making the decision. I just saw an opportunity to help my teacher and I took it. Did I think that there was a risk to myself when I chose to do it? Yes. Was I willing to take on that risk for my teacher? No question about it. Do I regret this course of action after all the pain I've suffered? Not even remotely. Did you feature anywhere in my thought process when deciding to do this?" Greg quietly shook his head as he calmly regarded the massive head of the python now coiled in the seat across from him. "Not for a second," he answered his own question. "We have an understanding, Roka! I help you survive as you ascend through the tiers, and in return, you'll help me regain my body when you are powerful enough. Are you trying to go back on that understanding?" Morpheus, now in the form of a grizzly bear, questioned in a d

Alena's face remained calm even as she walked back toward her room. There was a lot on her mind, half of which she was trying to think through, and another half she didn't want to think about. Alena didn't think of herself as a particularly humble person. Unlike most prideful people out there, however, her pride didn't come about as a result of an overinflated sense of self. Rather, she had concrete achievements to back up her pride. She had been gifted with a rare mind that would relentlessly attack anything she set it to until she had either solved or overcome it. Despite all this, she'd be the first to confess that she had bitten off more than she could chew and in so doing, she'd almost been broken. At first, giving up control was the worst part of it. From being a seventh-tier mage that had absolute control over every aspect of her body, to a crippled mage that only had some small control of her body to having to give it all up. That was how low she had fallen. As a seventh-tier

Sixteen. That is the final number of drops of mana that Roka drew from her core. The first two drops of mana took the density of his mana from that of a peak second-tier mage to one in the third tier. By the sixth drop, he was knocking on the mana density of a fourth-tier mage. Another six drops of mana, and he could match a fifth-tier mage in terms of mana density. This was as far as Roka went in terms of trying to increase the density of his mana. His channels, after all, were only tempered enough to handle tier-four mana, pushing it to the fifth was a serious gamble that could have easily ended in disaster. Going past this would have been just begging for the worst to happen. While still two whole tiers below the seventh tier, fifth-tier mana proved dense enough to work on her pathways, if a bit slowly. Howbeit, an issue emerged from the most unexpected of directions. Unlike common awakening methods, the new one that Alena had come up with was an open system. Some of the mana that

The boy had argued that they couldn't kill the women just because it was convenient for them. That there had to be another way to cover up their trail. But unlike him, she had been in the world of mages long enough to fully understand how callously the powerful treated the lives of those weaker than them. She had no malice against the women when she suggested that they give them a quick end. Rather, it was her being merciful, cold, but merciful all the same. To Alena, it wasn't a question of if but when. People didn't get to the seventh tier by being the kind to give up easily. Whoever would be sent after them probably wouldn't stop until they had turned the whole town upside down chasing after every last clue to their existence and where they'd gone. If they didn't find anything the first time, they would go over everything a second and third time. Eventually, they'd figure out that all these women were pregnant by the same man, and that the father had gone missing without a trace. O

Stepping onto the slab, Alena lowered herself onto the lotus position even as Olivia did the same on the carpet. Not wasting any time, the familiar leaned forward, placed her hand on the stone at the right position to pour mana into the sigil, and started doing so. When Roka began the infusions back in her old cave, it had been a painful affair for him, the same, however, wasn't true of her. He was a mundane human that had never interacted with mana before. His spirit body needed to be allowed to slowly get used to mana. She, on the other hand, had been a mage for hundreds of cycles, her spirit body had been exposed to mana for far longer than he'd even been alive. Even with her mana pathways having been dissolved, this fact hadn't changed. Alena suspected that Olivia could empty her entire mana pool into her through the slab and she wouldn't feel any discomfort, let alone pain. The only reason that they weren't doing this was because she needed to be prudent. As much as Alena was dyi
Chapter 47
This is adept Jen, the most gifted diviner of our Church of the dawn, and my personal disciple." The corpulent man talking was a sixth-tier priest and the head priest of Ethavel's branch of the Church of Seraphia, a deity associated with light, especially the first light of the sun at dawn. The bright yellow of their clothes wasn't just a garish clothing choice on their part but what was prescribed by their faith. In lands where the church held more sway, it was forbidden to wear the color if you weren't one of its adherents. The bald heads of both men were also another part of their religion's requirement. No one outside of their religion could as yet work out how that association was made, but, to them, a bald head represented the rising of the sun. The Acolyte being spoken of was a fourth-tier priest of the same faith. As was common in most religions they substituted one's tier with a title for it. The fourth tier being introduced was an adept, while his sixth tier teacher was a b
Chapter 48
To begin with, there was possibly a hidden seventh-tier mage within his city. Someone like the Governor was certain to have accrued several life-preserving measures throughout his life and tenure as Governor. Still, even if he didn't die, if a seventh-tier mage chose to attack him, he'd lose a pound of flesh in the process. And that was to speak nothing of the city itself. If half of it wasn't wrecked in that fight, then the Governor could only count himself lucky. The fact that Mage Hira and Grenad were on this hidden seventh-tier mage's trail, was a clear sign that he wasn't interested in joining the Draknar alliance. Though low, there was still a very real chance that negotiations might break down and things turn violent. The Governor was only a sixth-tier mage. If a fight instead broke out between two seventh-tier mages, then his only recourse would be to try and run as far as he possibly could before he was also caught up in it. As for Ethavel, there was no point in hoping to pre
Chapter 49
To have all your power entirely dependent on some external entity was far too glaring a vulnerability as far as she was concerned. No amount of swearing up and down by the members of this school would ever make her willing to give up control of her fate in such a way. It was for this same reason that Calyn loved being a body-enhancing mage. She might not have as many direct spells as those from other schools, but all the power she needed was already in her body. She didn't have to rely on an external entity, or on how fast she could weave together magic. Her body was her weapon. Her strength and speed were things she could call on without having to worry if they would answer or not. "Are you willing to stake your student's life on that claim?" Mage Hira questioned, in a clearly disinterested tone. In a way, it was an unfair question. To do anything but agree to the question, would call into question the bishop's faith. By the same token, however, the man had been testing the blood m

As mystical as the words were, however, Calyn couldn't help the block of ice that settled in her stomach as she realized something. The being wasn't talking to anyone present. Instead, the words and the being's attention were focused on the drop of blood still hovering before the fast crumbling body of the adept. The statement had been a short one, its implications, however, were monumental. Unless some other entity had intercepted the adept's prayer, this was Seraphia speaking. And if that was the case, just who did this blood belong to that He considered an old friend? It was common knowledge that the life span of deities made that of even ninth-tier mages look like the blink of an eye, and yet, Seraphia had remarked that it had been a long time since He last heard of the one the drop of blood belonged to! Just what kind of ancient monster had Mage Hira and Grenad managed to stumble upon? Even more importantly, could they afford to stay in Ethavel and await whatever calamity-in-wait
