THE REWARDS
Sophia’s brows furrowed, her voice trembling with confusion as she asked, “Why?” Her words echoed faintly, drawing every eye toward Lior. Lior’s gaze was steady, his tone calm but firm. “Because it is fake.” Gasps rippled through the crowd. Governor Marcus stepped forward, his robes sweeping the floor with authority. His voice thundered, “Impossible! The Blood Moon Stone cannot be fake. I picked it myself, and I am one of the top artifact appraisers in the country. Years of experience do not lie.” Lior bowed slightly. “With all due respect, Governor, I do not question your identity or your reputation. But I know this stone is a forgery.” The governor’s eyes narrowed. “Explain yourself.” Lior gestured toward the glittering stone in the open box. “The True Blood Moon Stone has a deep crimson hue, almost alive, shifting faintly under moonlight, or under a torch light. Its edges are sharp yet smooth, like glass carved by divine hands. This one, however, is duller, its color
THE CEMETERY
Lior sat in his room, lost in thought. The drama in the palace had finally died down, and he was left to pick up the pieces of his shattered heart, and accept that his step brother would soon marry his first love.He needed a distraction, something to take his mind off, then he remembered the fact that his mother, Queen Laura Croft, was gone. Just then, a maid knocked and entered his room.“Greetings Mr Lior, I am Kara Danvers, the maid who will be working close with you, and show you around the palace. I was appointed by the chief maid to show you your duties as you work here in the palace.”“ Nice to meet you, Kara,” Lior smiled.“ Like wise,” Kara replied. Please, I know this is sudden, but before I get into any duties, can you take me to the royal cemetery?” Lior asked.“ I wish to see the grave of the late queen Laura Croft.”Kara's face dropped. “Mr Lior, I need to inform you that the queen wasn't buried in the royal cemetery," Kara said, her voice gentle.Lior's eyes narrowed.
THE RAGING EMPLOYEE
Lior Croft took a cab and headed straight to one of the well-known companies in the city. He decided to begin with a phone company, saving clothes and shoes shopping for later, as he wanted to look around first before spending on his appearance. His previous phone was an old model, scratched and slow, and he knew it was time for something new. The cab driver eventually dropped Lior in front of a luxurious phone shop, its glass doors shining under the city lights. As he approached the entrance, the security guard gave him a long, suspicious look, wondering what someone dressed so plainly was doing at such an expensive store. This was because Lior hadn’t yet bought himself a change of clothes. His outfit was simple, worn from use, and in a place where appearances mattered, it made him stand out in the wrong way. The guard kept a sharp eye on him, ready to throw him out if he caused trouble, convinced that Lior might be a thief or a beggar trying to sneak in. Still, Lior walked
JUSTICE FOR LISA
“Your story is incomplete, you skipped the part where you slapped the girl and pulled her hair,” Lior pointed out, his voice steady but filled with quiet disapproval, making sure everyone around heard the accusation clearly. It was like watching a movie. The words cut through the air like a blade, and the crowd reacted instantly. Some gasped loudly, others whispered in shock, and a few even muttered that the employee had gone too far. The manager sighed deeply, his shoulders heavy with the weight of the situation. “I admit that his actions were wrong, shameful even, but we cannot overlook the fact that this girl has caused us damage, can we?” he asked, trying to balance fairness with the company’s interests. His attempt at diplomacy drew mixed reactions—some nodded, agreeing with his logic, while others shook their heads, clearly siding with the girl. “You should be ashamed of yourself, that's not how to treat a girl.”“She destroyed the phone… yes, and that, I am willing to pay
LISA IN TROUBLE
Delilah’s chambers were draped in deep purple and gold. She sat on a throne of her own making, a smaller replica of the royal seat, placed neatly at the far end of the chamber. Prince Frederick stood at her right hand, arms folded, watching.Kara stood before them, hands clasped tight, head bowed.Delilah leaned forward, a curious look on her face. "Are you sure of what you are saying?"Kara swallowed. "Yes, my lady."Delilah studied her for a long moment. Then she nodded. "Thank you for your feedback. This information means a lot. Please keep doing what you are doing. You will be beautifully rewarded."Kara nodded. "Yes, my lady."Delilah waved her hand, forcing a warm smile. "Now you can leave."Kara bowed and backed toward the doors. As she stepped out, a chill ran down her spine. Telling the queen what had transpired at the cemetery felt wrong. Delilah’s smile didn’t reach her eyes. She had something to hide, Kara could tell. The heavy doors shut behind her.The moment they clos
THE HUMILIATING DEFEAT
“Let her go.”The voice cut through the arcade like a blade. All three men turned.Lior walked toward them, calm, steady, eyes cold.Lisa gasped and immediately ran to his side, practically hiding behind him. She grabbed his sleeve with both hands, her voice shaking. “Lior… please don’t get involved. Please…”The leader raised an eyebrow. “Well, well… look who crawled out of the shadows. And who the hell are you supposed to be? Her babysitter?”His men laughed loudly.Lior didn’t even blink. “Lisa,” he said quietly, “who are these men?”Lisa swallowed hard. “They’re loan sharks… They tricked my late father into taking a loan to treat my mother’s long illness. But the interest rate… it doubled every month. He didn’t know. He thought he could pay it back. He didn’t know they were scammers.”The leader scoffed. “Scammers? Watch your mouth, girl. We’re businessmen.”“Yeah,” one of the men added, “we provide services. You people just don’t know how to read contracts.”“You guys should be
APPRAISAL HALL
Lior walked into the Jadestone Appraisal Hall with Lisa. Behind them, the leader of the loan sharks walked with impatience, flanked by his two men, their heavy boots echoing against the polished marble floors. Crystal chandeliers hung low, casting sharp light over glass cases filled with uncut stones, and the air smelled faintly of dust, ink, and cold metal. The moment Lior stepped through the tall doors, his eyes landed on two people he never wanted to see here of all places: Prince Frederick and Rhea Smith, his fiancée. Frederick stood near the front counter, dressed in a dark tailored coat with the royal crest on the lapel. Rhea stood half a step behind him, dressed in pale blue silk, her expression blank.Frederick spotted Lior immediately. His lips curled, and he shook his head once before stepping forward.“What are you doing here?” he said, voice sharp enough to cut through the low murmur of the hall, making heads turn. “This is not a place for losers.”Lior said nothing at f
LIOR PICKED THE WRONG CHOICE?
A noble choked on his drink, sputtering as wine dripped down his chin, his face turning red with both shock and amusement. Another burst into laughter so loud it echoed off the marble walls, clutching his chest as if the absurdity physically hurt him.The prince smirked, leaning back with casual arrogance. “Borrow? Oh, this guy is so hilarious.”The shopkeeper blinked, his brows furrowing in disbelief. “Borrow? You mean… you want credit?”Lior nodded, his voice steady. “If I don’t earn enough from the appraisal, I will pay the full amount with interest within ten days.”The hall erupted instantly, voices colliding in a storm of ridicule.“Is he insane?” “Who comes to Jadestone Hall without money?” “He must think this is a charity.” “Borrowing for an appraisal? That’s a new level of poverty.” “Ten days? He won’t last ten hours!” Frederick clutched his stomach, laughing so hard he nearly bent double, his polished boots scraping against the marble floor. “You hear that? He’s
SWEET UNVEILING
The hall grew tense as the cutters stepped forward, each holding a small chisel and a thin jade‑splitting blade. The crowd leaned in, breaths held, eyes fixed on the velvet table. The shopkeeper raised his hand dramatically.“Begin the unveiling!”A sharp crack echoed as the first stone; Prince Frederick’s first pick — was struck.Everyone leaned forward.A thin line split across the rock… A faint hiss escaped… And then…“Empty,” the cutter announced flatly.A wave of murmurs rolled through the hall.“Empty?” “No jade at all?” “Not even low‑grade?” “Oh no… that’s embarrassing.”Frederick’s smirk twitched. Just a little. Barely noticeable, but enough for Rhea to glance at him nervously. The shopkeeper cleared his throat. “This stone is… unfortunately worthless.”A noble whispered loudly, “The prince must be having an off day.”Another added, “Or maybe he never had an ‘on’ day.”Frederick shot them a glare so sharp they instantly shut up.The second stone was placed on the
WHO ARE YOU LIOR?
Lior pushed open the door to his small palace room, the bags of newly bought items hanging from his tired hands. The moment he stepped inside, the quiet hit him—soft, still, almost comforting after the chaos of the day.He dropped everything beside the bed and collapsed face‑first onto the mattress.“What a long day…” he muttered into the sheets, exhaling like someone who had been holding his breath for hours. For a moment, he let himself sink into the silence. Then— Knock. Knock.Lior lifted his head, blinking. “Huh?”The door creaked open, and Kara stepped inside. Her expression wasn’t her usual playful or neutral one. It was sharp. Focused. Almost… urgent. She walked slowly, each step measured, her eyes locked on him like she was studying every breath he took.Lior sat up, confused. “Hey… Kara? Is everything okay?”She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she crossed her arms and tilted her head slightly.“Lior Raz, huh?”Lior blinked. “Yeah… that’s my name. Why ask?”Kara’s eyes
