“Let me have the phone.” Marcus’s tone was low, but was not devoid of imperativeness. Gradually, he was beginning to align himself with the new phase of authority and wealth.Who could have thought that his story was going to change just when he thought that death was finally going to clutch him? “Hello, Mr. Duke…” He listened silently, but Queen didn’t seem like she would have preferred him to stay quiet, her eyes tried as much as they could not to stare at the young Master, for fear that they could look at each other. She was not prepared for that moment- the moment when Marcus was going to reprimand her for whatever circumstances were going to amount from her actions, even though they were carried out with good intentions. “Please, forgive us, Master Marcus.” Duke’s voice resounded through the speakers, lacking the usual deepness that it was known for.It was low and cracking, evidence of the nervousness that gripped him.“Your father is furious, Master Marcus. He thinks we have

For the first time, Marcus saw a sleek and expensive car without bothering to look at the name. The Driver opened the backseat of the Black Bentley, and then he left the way for the young Master to get in. Marcus slowly moved into the backseat, and as though the driver understood what was going on, he drove off as soon as Queen had joined the young heir in the backseat. Queen turned to Marcus, and seeing that he was panicking, she was forced to say what was on her mind. “Don’t worry, Master Marcus. We are going to find your sister. Nothing is going to happen to her.” She assured, holding onto the smile that was supposed to reassure Marcus. The Young Master nodded, but he couldn’t even get himself to force a smile, nor could he get himself to get a grip on himself. Slowly, he was beginning to sweat, and even the air conditioner in the car was not able to stop the beads of sweat from rolling down his face. For the umpteenth time, he looked at his phone, his heart beating like talk

Queen slowly began to walk up to the two security guards standing in front of the entrance of the shopping mall. Luckily for the first security man, the guard had left him, pushing him staggering back to his post while he kept on holding both cheeks. At the sight of Queen, both he and his colleague bowed, keeping their faces to the ground. “Miss Queen. Welcome!” The first security man greeted, still struggling with the pain from the deafening slaps he received from the guard. Queen moved closer to him, her eyes burning with rage. To respond to his greeting, he landed two more slaps across his face, sending him to the ground. The security man looked up, his eyes wide with fear.“Have I done, Miss Queen?!” He asked frantically, crawling backward in fear. His colleague thought that he could be next, and the moment Queen turned to him, he as forced to shift backward, and then he swallowed hard, attempting to stop his heart from beating really fast. “Do you realize what you have do

“Understood, Miss Queen.” The man bowed his head, and then he cleared his throat. When he eventually turned to Marcus, he was curious to know who he was, staring at him with an arched brow. “Who is this, Miss Queen?” He asked, and before the lady could get to give him a response, he added with a disdainful look.“Is he here to apply for a job?” He asked, returning his gaze to the lady who gasped as soon as she heard what he said. Queen turned to Marcus, hoping that he didn’t hear what the insolent manager said, but his countenance had changed, indicating that he had heard everything even though he didn’t seem to be so much interested, his major concern was that he was eager to find out where his sister was. “Do you know who this is?!” Queen asked the Manager with burning eyes, pointing to Marcus who seemed not to be interested even for one bit. The Manager, Paul turned to look at Marcus, and still unimpressed because of his appearance, he scoffed secretly before he shifted his ga

Paul felt his spirit leaving his body, and he couldn’t even say anything to defend himself at that critical moment. He tried to speak, but his lips could only separate from each other while it felt as though he had been mute for months, his eyes looking downward in shame. He couldn’t look at Queen, not to talk of Marcus, his chest tightening as though it was about to crush his bones. “Can we see the footage?” Marcus demanded, ignoring the moment of cringe.Queen nodded at once, and since she knew her way, she walked into the office at once, ignoring the two ladies who were not certain of what was going to be their fate.Even though no one bothered about them, acting as though they were invisible, they covered their half-open bodies, whimpering in fear. The gap between them and their clothes was not much, but they dared not to go even a step close to it, for fear of being punished severely, in addition to what was coming to them. Marcus followed Queen desperately as she moved into

Paul nodded at once, his eyes still glittering with the apprehension that gripped him. He inched toward the screens, but his concentration was not on them.“I am so sorry.” He muttered while he was staring at Marcus, but since it was very unclear exactly what he was apologizing for, no one knew the right answer to give to him.Right at that moment, his hands were slippery as he reached for the keyboard resting on the desk just below the screens, and because he was running out of patience, Marcus growled at him, his eyes burning with annoyance.“Hurry up!” Marcus grunted, causing the man to fidget. That was the moment Paul finally decided to focus on what he was doing, and moved to concentrate on the keyboard. Without delay, he displayed the footage from an hour earlier while he was still trying to stop his hands from shaking. “Out of the way,” Marcus said calmly, and then he inched closer to the screen with wide eyes. Queen and the two guards were also looking up while the Manage

“Thank goodness you are here, Marcus!” She exclaimed with a panicked tone, her wary eyes staring at the two guards standing behind Marcus.“Who did this to you?!” Her brother asked, but she was too flustered to even say a word, staring from one guard to the other.“They are with me, Aria. It’s okay.” Marcus assured the moment he sensed the fear that was buried deep inside his sister’s eyes. The moment the two guards tried to get closer to help Aria, she fidgeted, shaking her head in fear. “They will be back, Marcus! They looked so much like them!” She tried to point at the guards, but she could only do that with her facial gesture, moving from one guard to the other. Eventually, tears began to trickle down her face again, her lips quivered violently, yet she couldn’t even utter a word. Sensing the fear that gripped her, Marcus drew much closer, holding tightly onto her.“Don’t worry, we are going to get you out of here.” He assured, but the moment he looked at the chain again, he

Queen was taken aback by the words she heard from the dangerous man.She completely understood what it meant, her eyes turning to Marcus as though she was trying to warn him against an impending danger. “What is it?” Marcus inquired, his voice barely above a whisper. “We need to find a way to get you out of here, Young Master,” Queen said with a slippery tone, slowly reaching for her phone. She turned to the guards behind them, her eyes instructing before she could say it out. Slowly, the guards dropped the chair alongside Aria, and then they began to move toward the middle-aged man and the guards with him. Alfred snorted the moment he saw the men approaching, and when his own men decided to attack, he stopped them, putting out his hands with a wry smile.“I don’t think there will be any need for violence.” He said calmly, and then he turned to Queen, still holding onto his wry smile.“I am surprised that Duke would allow you to handle something as delicate as the safety of the he

CHAPTER NINETEEN Alfred’s utterance had left everyone speechless, and there was nothing to show that he was mincing his words. When he turned to the three guards, they instantly cracked their bones, waiting for the moment when he was going to tell them to grab Marcus. The tension that Queen thought was going to die down had increased, causing her to take a deep breath. She turned to Marcus, and even though he looked very calm, she couldn’t stop herself from worrying about him. “I don’t feel too good about this.” She muttered, her voice cold and slippery. Alfred was still boiling by the time she managed to return her gaze to him, but it didn’t seem as though he was going to stay calm at any moment. “Stay out of this, old man.” He growled at Duke, but the old man refused to budge, glaring back at him.“Tell your father, Khan. Tell him that he is playing with fire, Alfred. It will burn him before he knows it.” Alfred snorted, yet the old man remained still and unshaken by his demea

However, Alfred didn’t seem like the only one who was shocked at that moment. The rest of the people in the room, including the guards stared at him with wide eyes, wondering what he was up to. “Found it!” Marcus chuckled softly, nodding in satisfaction. “Who saves his father’s number with just Father?” He scoffed, returning his gaze to Alfred. “That’s too simple. You made it very easy for me to find.” He taunted, leaving the middle-aged man silent. “We are going to call your father, Alfred…” Marcus continued, his voice low but sharp. “We will tell him that I have you, and that I am going to cause you the same amount of pain you inflicted on my sister. He is going to watch you shed tears. His precious son.” Alfred gasped, but yet again, he was not the only one who was shocked by what Marcus said. But the Young Master was not done speaking, returning his eyes to the screen of the phone. “Let’s call Daddy!” He sniggered, pushing the green icon. He showed the screen to the owner
