Marcus took a deep breath, and then he shook his head.“I can never be scared of your, Fred.” “Then prove it!” Fred urged, attempting to get into his head. “Fight me if you are not afraid of me!” He pushed closer to Marcus while glaring at him. The librarian became more nervous, staring at Fred with cautious eyes. She turned her gaze to Marcus, begging him not to get into a fight.“Go ahead!” Fred pushed Marcus, and even though the impact on his chest was not enough to make him fall, he felt the pain, taking an inch steep backward. Marcus looked at his chest, and after a brief moment of looking around, he returned his gaze to him, looking him in the eyes.“You push like a baby, Fred.” He sniggered, causing Fred to grunt.Marcus took a deep breath, ignoring his reaction. He turned to look at Jane as though that was the first time he was seeing her, and then he took a deep breath. “I think we should do this outside, Fred.” He paused for a few seconds, taking a deep breath.“What d

“I will.” Fred nodded, and it was obvious that it was one of the few things he was going to agree with Jane even though he still didn’t value her loyalty to him.For the third time, he spanked her, causing her to gasp and grunt while pretending to enjoy it.Jane chuckled softly while forcing a smile to hide the pain that was meant to show all over her face. Marcus scoffed, shaking his head with a wry smile.“Are you really going to continue letting him treat you like his puppet because you are trying to prove a point?” He asked, but that was not because he cared, but only because he was curious.Jane said nothing, and even though she felt a cringe from what Marcus said to her, she refused to admit it, turning to Fred. “I think you are wasting time, Fred. Deal with him.” She urged, turning to roll her eyes at Marcus again. Realizing that his display was not getting to Marcus, Fred was left with no choice than to let go of Jane.He pushed her out of the way, causing her to stagger w

“Oh no!” Marcus took a deep breath, his entire body shaking as he tried to recount on what had just happened in less than two seconds. At that moment, he began to regret why he had not opted for a driver, believing that he could have avoided that accident. But since there was no time for regrets, he decided to alight from the car, hoping that whoever that was had not died by his hands. When he finally gripped the handle of the car door, it felt like it was too heavy for him to open, but he pushed until he was able to get it open.Getting out of the car, the first sight that he met was that of blood running toward him, causing him to drift backward.Marcus swallowed hard, his eyes wide as he moved forward. “Please Lord…” He prayed silently, attempting to catch his breath. Then he saw her, sprawled on the ground with her face looking the other way.“Is she dead?” A voice rang inside Marcus’s head, and he hated the fact that it was echoing in his mind.“Can you hear me?” He asked, ye

Marcus thought that was all he needed to say for the Doctor to get to work, but seeing the reluctance on his face, and the fact that he was still standing right there before him, his expression dropped.“What is it, Doctor? Is there a problem?” He inquired, desperate for an answer. “It’s not as simple as it sounds, Mr. Trevor.” The Doctor remarked, but he ended up causing more confusion to Marcus.“What do you mean?” Marcus asked, but it took a while before the Doctor finally spoke.“WE need the consent of her family member, and I am guessing that you do not know who she is. Do you even know her name?”Marcus shook his head, and then he sighed in despair. “I don’t think I have seen her before, Doctor.” He muttered, reaching out to his memory in an attempt to remember what she looked like. For almost thirty seconds, no one said anything, and the expression on the Doctor’s face was an indication that he was waiting to hear from Marcus, hoping that he was going to be able to recognize

Marcus could already imagine what could happen to him if the girl didn’t make it through the surgery. For the umpteenth time, he looked toward the hallway that led to the theater where she was wheeled into, his heartbeat reminding him of the exact words from the Doctor. He took a deep breath, his eyes glued to that direction. “Maybe I shouldn’t have done this,” He grunted, unable to get a grip on himself.Just then, his phone rang, and reaching for his pocket, he grabbed the device to see who was calling.“Hello, Miss Queen?” He whispered as soon as he placed the phone against his left ear, still struggling for breath.“Young Master? Is everything alright?” Queen asked, sensing the panic in Marcus’s tone.“Everything is alright.” Marcus gave a very quick response, but the moment he cleared his throat, Queen could tell that he was lying.“Are you in trouble, Young Master?” She asked nervously, and even though that was not entirely the case, it suddenly felt like it.Marcus struggled w

“I have never met her in my life.” Marcus finally gave a response, but the lady already knew the answer to the question by merely looking at his face.“I think we should take a seat,” Queen said as soon as she was reminded that her heels were hurting her as a result of standing for over half an hour. Marcus decided that it was time he sat down as well, shifting his gaze to two of the nurses at the reception who seemed to have so much time on their hands to while away, whispering while they looked at him, pointing when they thought he was not looking. The nurses pretended not to have been discussing Marcus and the situation, but the former didn’t mind that. “We have to find out who she is.” He said as soon as he was seated next to Queen, turning to face her.Queen nodded, and then she leaned backward to rest her back on the seat.“Are you sure that she is not a student in your school, Young Master? Maybe you don’t remember her face. I am sure there are a lot of students that you don’

“I will be back shortly, Master Marcus.” Queen left in a hurry, leaving the guards behind to stay with the young heir. That was not what Marcus was concerned about, and anyone who saw him could tell that he was only interested in seeing the lady who had run into his car.He had so many questions that he was certain that he was going to ask her, and he could only pray that she wake up on time. After ten minutes were passed, a nurse appeared from the hallway, heading toward Marcus with a deadpan expression etched alongside the signs of exhaustion.“Good day, Sir.” She finally greeted Marcus after she had refused to say even a word to him when he brought in the lady.Marcus cleared his throat, yet he couldn’t say a word to the nurse, just looking her in the face while he waited for her to state the reason why she was standing before him.“She is awake, and I think she wants to see you.” The nurse reported, and without delay, Marcus headed for the ward where the lady had been kept after

“You are back,” Marcus whispered as soon as he set his eyes on the lady who walked in, giving her an obvious stare. Queen turned to glance at the lady, a few seconds before she took out her phone and forwarded the assignment to Marcus.“Her name is Gwen Cipher, Young Master. She is twenty-four years old, and not a student of your college.” “I knew it.” Marcus nodded, and then he took a deep breath, taking his phone out of his pocket. After glancing through the details that Queen had sent to him, he took a deep breath, moving his eyes back to her. “It says here that she is an orphan.” “Yes, Master Marcus.” Queen nodded, but Marcus didn’t seem like he was paying attention to her, focused on looking at Gwen.He felt so much pity for her, especially after he had discovered that she spent some time in an orphanage just like him. “It says nothing here of the things she does…” Marcus returned his gaze to the phone just to be sure he was right. “How are we supposed to know who did this

“I will be safe, I promise.” He assured, sensing the reason why the lady seemed to be so worried. “I promise you that I will be fine, Miss Queen. You have absolutely nothing to be worried about.” He said calmly, and then he took a deep breath. “I think you should be on your way. I am sure that you have so many things to do.” He dismissed her, but she shook her head, insisting on staying with the young heir. “I don’t have anything else to do, Master Marcus. It’s already close to the end of work hours, and today is Friday. There are no meetings to attend to, nothing else to do.” “Then you should go home and rest.” Marcus insisted, refusing to give in to her demand. Queen took a deep breath, still determined to try again.“You should let me come with you, Young Master. Your father will not be happy if he learns that you have decided to do this…”“That’s exactly why I asked you not to tell him, or even Mr. Duke…” Marcus interrupted before she could finish, looking her in the eyes. “

Unable to handle the cringe that gripped her, she cleared her throat, but it seemed as though she was not going to be able to do that.“I have never seen that face in my life, Sir.” She lied again, her voice losing its grip. Marcus sighed softly, and then he shifted her the screen to her face, sensing the suspicion in her tone.“I don’t think you looked properly, Miss Willow. Look again, maybe she was one of your employees, or maybe she came here looking for a job...”“I don’t know who she is!” Clara snapped, refusing to let him finish. She took a deep breath, and then she turned to the waitress who was trying to make sense of the discussion between the two of them.“Go and get yourself busy.” Clara instructed, and the waitress left in a hurry, marching toward a table at the right corner of the hall. The Manager returned her gaze to Marcus, but she couldn’t look at him for more than a few seconds before she moved her eyes to the entrance of the restaurant just to be sure that no on
