31. Trust
‘Trust’The weight of doubt threatened to tip the scales of trust between them. But Logan didn't relent, he gave in. Light bent violently around them, tearing the very fabrics of reality as the alley was consumed by a blinding flash of blue-white brilliance, every sound dying down into eerie silence. It was as if the force of gravity was dispelled for a split second. Logan felt weightless—then the ground rushed up to meet them. He twisted mid-air, pulling Sonia closer to his chest as they crashed. Protecting her as much as he can from the impact, that was his priority right now. A pained groan escaped his lips as they hit hard on the floor, then he slowly turned his head.“Sonia!”After a futile attempt to stand, her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto her knees. The glow in her eyes flickered wildly, then dimmed altogether. Logan's arm reached out immediately, catching her as she slumped, and he gasped at the contact of Sonia's cold skin on his.“Sonia, look at me,” Logan said ur
32. Rejik
Logan's hold on Sonia instinctively tightened. If they thought he'd harm her, they’d be gravely mistaken, and he would fight them if it came down to it. “I didn't hurt her,” Logan said, the words making him grimace. He would never even think of harming her. “She brought us here, she saved me.” The pleiadian's armor gleamed as he stepped closer, the marking on his forehead pulsing violently, the air around him was charged, bending heat and light as If reality itself obeyed his will. Logan stood firm, he felt the hum under his skin reacting to counter this upcoming threat, faint blue light racing through his veins. The pleiadian sneered. “You expect us to believe you? She’s drained to the brink of enlightenment.” “Because she teleported across realms,” Logan shot back, his words spilling out. “They were going to capture us, but she saved us. She brought us here.” He’d already pieced it together, they weren't on earth anymore. Sonia had risked her life teleporting them to Pleiadia
33. Focus
Logan didn't remember leaving the chamber, following a pleiadian who took him to the quarters where he was to rest. All he remembered was the word. Mating. It echoed in his head long after his heated argument with Kregor had died down, long after the crystalline doors were sealed behind. They had a lengthy conversation but his thoughts were consumed by the notion of Sonia being forced to be with someone she didn't choose all in the name of duty and responsibilities. Today, he found out that pleiadians could teleport back home whenever they wanted. They could just up and leave, but they’d chosen to stay back on earth because of him. All these while, they were searching for him. The orb's chosen. He held a dark expression as he followed the pleiadian to his quarters, ignoring the stares and whispers that followed in his wake. Pleiadians paused mid-conversation as he passed, their eyes widening as they noticed his veins pulsing a violent blue glow. Some held their children tightly
34. A Past I Don't Remember
“Hello! Is anyone here?” Logan yelled. He walked alone in the vast emptiness of an endless white canvas, devoid of life or presence—just him. “What is this place?” he muttered, his eyes roaming around. A little boy suddenly came out of nowhere and tugged his hands, his eyes wide, held with a sense of urgency. Logan's gaze met the child's, and his breath caught. It was his younger self. Little Logan pulled him insistently, and he followed. They got to a place where other people were, not a white endless, empty void like before, but a place filled with life, warm even. It almost seemed like the home he lived in as a child. Or was it? The sweet aroma of a well seasoned soup filled the atmosphere—Meridith doing her magic as she stirred the soup gently. His father, Vince snuck up behind her and startled her, causing her to jump. Her eyes shot wide open and the spoon clattered on the floor. Vince's hand grabbed her waist and they burst out in laughter. ‘Is this a dream?’ “No.” A
35. Sacrifices Were Made
Logan felt a lump in his throat as his eyes darted to Sonia, who sat silently at a corner staring at him with eyes filled with a deep sadness. Would the truth be as bad as he feared? His gaze flickered to Kregor, whose eyes still held a scorching determination. Kregor nodded once more, then waved his arm, dismissing the Pleiadians that came with him. Sonia stood to follow, but a strong grip clutched her arm, holding her back. “Stay,” Logan said, his voice low. Sonia froze, her eyes locked on his. Kregor gestured, and the symbols on the walls brightened, forming images. Greenville in chaos, streets on fire. Sirens blaring everywhere. Back to when the war started, a war that almost destroyed the city. Then the images rewind backwards. The city was normal again, no fire, no chaos, no aliens. A large vessel materialized blocking out the sun—the first day the Pleiadians breached Earth’s atmosphere—casting the streets of Greenville in a foreboding shadow. Then, a man st
36. It's All On Me
“You’re not ready,” Kregor said, his voice firm. “No one knows what they're planning back there, and you're not prepared for any surprises.” Logan hesitated. He's right. Whatever Christopher is planning has to be countered with precaution as he wasn't one to make impulsive decisions, he planned, calculated, observed and learned. Meanwhile, Logan was just walking into it with half-truths, fractured alliance and powers he hadn't fully understood yet But will that change Logan's resolve? No. None of that mattered. “If I don't leave now, many lives will be lost,” Logan said finally. “The resistance are not going to succeed if they attack Vaught's warehouse without me. I won't let them down.” Kregor’s eyes narrowed. A frustrated grunt escaped his lips and he turned, the tip of his staff kissing the floor. “You know that's a stupid plan right?” he said looking over his shoulder. “Attacking Vaught's warehouse. What change do you expect from that?” Logan stepped forward. “Somet
37. Whatever It Takes
Logan's eyes snapped open, his chest rising and falling rapidly, it burned and his heart thundered like it was going to escape his ribs. The faint squeak of the wooden chair sliced through the silence as he shifted. A quiet groan escaped his lips as he stood on his feet. This is really not a good time, not when everything was balanced on the edge of tomorrow's outcome. He dragged his hands down his face, as if rubbing off the remnant of the horrible nightmare that woke him up. He squeezed his eyes shut and images of the nightmare raided his thoughts—Screams. Fire. Sonia’s voice slipping farther away as she called out his name, and no matter how fast he ran, he never caught up with her. Opening his eyes slowly with a deep breath, his gaze landed on Beth. They had worked nonstop all day, planning routes for the attack, sending encrypted e-mails to every member of the resistance, all 277 of them. A large number of them were relieved to learn that Logan had returned and was eag
38. More Sacrifices
Even the sun had decided not to witness what was about to unfold, the heavy gray sky stretched endlessly over Greenville, dull and overcast. Logan's gaze fixed on the warehouse in the distance from his vantage point—an abandoned parking lot. The warehouse situated in the middle of the city looked ordinary from the outside. Like it was abandoned. Old concrete walls, rusty gates, no lights, not even a single noise except from the trucks that drove out once in a while. People passed by it everyday without a second glance. But beneath it lay something dangerous, Logan knew this without doubt. The resistance gathered behind Logan, some faces etched with fear, uncertainty, only a few held a flicker of hope in their gazes, their faces tight with resolve. Some were barely older than teenagers, others were parents. Civil servants, farmers, doctors, people who couldn't bear to lose any more to the cruelty of people like Vaught. They all looked up to Logan like he was a messiah, and t
39. Infinite Realm
“Blue sky?” Carla exclaimed, glancing at Logan. His jaw clenched. “Guess, we'll find out.” The elevator began its descent. Halting thirty-five feet below before sliding open. A foul stench—a mix of chemicals and death—hit them like a punch, their hands instinctively covering their noses. Rows of pods lined on the walls—glass chambers containing pale bodies suspended in a glowing fluid. Tubes ran into their veins. Machines beeping softly as it monitored their heartbeat. Beth's eyes widened in shock. “This is…” “Hell,” Carla finished. Logan moved forward slowly, his eyes drinking in hundreds of pods that stretched out before him. His guts twisted. Things have turned out to be more than he imagined. As he went deeper into the lab, screens flickered to life beside each pod, revealing names, vitals, experiment logs, blood type. Then his gaze fell on a pod at the center of the lab. His brows furrowed. ‘It can't be.’ The pale figure in the pod had three markings on hi
40. The Last Gift
Logan groggily opened his eyes, wincing. “Christopher?” His head panged, flooding with memories of what had happened. The resistance was no more and Christopher… His eyes snapped open fully. “You have to stop this madness,” he growled, eyes locking onto his restrained form “Chris? What are you doing?” Christopher’s grin twisted. “Aw, Logan, is this how you appreciate one's gift to you?” “What?” Logan said, his brows knitted. “Just shut up,” Christopher spat, his eyes turning cold. Logan's jaw tightened, as Christopher pulled out a syringe, drawing blood from his own arm. He mixed a drop with Logan's on a glass slide. Christopher’s eyes lit up through the microscope. “Amazing… but not yet perfect.” He pulled out another syringe, injecting its content into Logan's arm. “My second gift.” A wicked grin spread on his lips. “Don’t worry dear friend, this will all be over soon,” Christopher said. His gaze fixed on Logan’s arm, watching the veins react to the fluid that spre
