Chapter 1

1. Logan Hale

'All this stress for nothing. Just one vile?’ Logan's thoughts swirled. Christopher had said the Crownfell stored the elixir here. ‘I always knew stealing was a bad idea…'

The alien's voice boomed, making Logan's skin crawl. "I will ask you for the last time, what were you doing here? Are you spying on my people?" He circled Logan, his purple eyes blazing. His armor glowing faint blue.

Logan didn't respond. His head lowered, totally oblivious to the towering alien.

Slap!

The sting of the slap jolted Logan back to reality.

"Fuck!" he hissed, his face burning.

The Pleiadian’s voice was cold as ice. "Do you even know where you are? You are not supposed to be anywhere around here, child. You are already stupid enough to be here, so answer my question and don't act a fool."

Logan's jaw tightened.

He knew exactly where he was—an uncharted territory, off limits to humans. Only the pleiadians lived here or came around here. But he had no other option, he came for the elixir, no matter the risk.

Holding in a deep breath, Logan spat at the Pleiadian’s feet. 'Fucking alien.'

The memory of the invasion still burned.

Nobody knew where they came from or why they came. One faithful afternoon, a massive metal ship had descended on the city, blocking out the sun. The news spread like wildfire; Aliens are invading the city.

The pleiadians looked human, almost.

But, their glowing stripes and radiant irises set them apart. They’d claimed their visit was peaceful, but war had erupted, raging for four years before a fragile truce was forged.

Harmony remained a distant dream.

The city was divided into two; Greenville and Darkalley. The Pleiadians resided in Darkalley, and the humans were still reeling.

Yet, they'd also brought a gift: the elixir. A blue fluid with incredible healing properties, sold to humans twice a week. But those visits had stopped.

The Pleiadian’s gaze bored into Logan.

He seemed to be studying him, brows knotted. His lips parted, lowering himself, he held Logan on his perfectly sharp jaw and stared into his hazel eyes.

"Lord Kregor,” a second pleiadian approached, his shiny silver eyes flashing with anger. “Why do you keep this human alive, he should hang," he urged, two blue markings on his forehead seemed to pulse with intensity as he drew closer.

"We do not spill innocent blood." Kregor's voice was a low rumble.

"It's an eye for an eye, that's what the humans say. You know they killed him. It's time we sent a reply."

Kregor's growl deepened, he sprang up, facing the other pleiadian. "Yuri, that is not our way. We do not kill innocents. This boy knows nothing."

Yuri's voice dripped with venom. "He was innocent too, but they didn't care."

"Enough! I will find the one responsible, and I will make them pay. Set him loose.”

Yuri's face darkened, but he sheathed his knife and cut Logan free. “Get out,” he growled.

Logan slowly pushed himself up, dusting off the blue jean he wore. His eyes locked on kregor’s retreating back. He took a step forward,

but Yuri's hand shot out, pinning him to the spot. "I won't warn you again. Leave. Now.”

"I came here for something. I'll die for it if I have to."

Yuri’s grin was a cold, mirthless smile. “Fool,” he muttered, his hands tightening on his knife.

Kregor intervened, shoving Yuri aside. "Enough!"

“What are you here for, child?” Kregor's voice cut through the tension.

Logan's eyes dropped. "The elixir."

Yuri snorted. “He's no different from the others. They always want power, a little bit of the high, don't they?"

Kregor shot him a warning glance.

"No, it's not that,” Logan said quickly, his face hardening. “Forget it, I don't expect help from you anyway."

He turned to leave, but Kregor's voice stopped him cold.

"Wait! Get me the name of the one responsible for Louis death, and I will give you all the elixir you need."

Logan’s eyebrow arched, but he said nothing just turned and walked away.
