DOUBLE WEAPONS
"Retreat, retreat, everyone back off!"Noah's voice thundered through. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. They couldn't defeat the monster. As if knowing that everyone was about to retreat, the monster roared loudly and became more violent. The monster went on a bigger rampage as everyone turned their backs towards the monster in a bid to escape.Noah's eyes blazed with anger as he saw the monster's actions, his gaze fixed on the monster as it targeted the weak ones among them. The monster was more like a smart human. The creature avoided the strongest attacks and attacked the weaker players. Its strength was overwhelming, but its intelligence was frustrating. But Noah knew that he had to do something, even if it meant him dying. Most of the people dying from this monster were his men. He couldn't bear seeing them killed that way.Looking for a perfect opportunity, Noah launched himself into the air at the monster."Ahhhh!" Noah shouted.Noah's spear suddenly brightened up a
COUNTDOWN
As Micheal summoned the golden sword, its bright light almost blinded him. He could feel a strange power flowing from it, but he didn’t understand it yet.“Micheal! Thank God I finally found you!”He turned quickly. It was Alex.Micheal dismissed the sword and looked at him closely. Alex’s clothes were torn, and there were fresh wounds on his arms.“What happened to you?” Micheal asked.Alex shrugged, though it clearly hurt. “Nothing too serious. I went outside the city with some friends to test our abilities against monsters.”“Outside the city?” Micheal frowned. “Isn’t that dangerous?”“Very,” Alex replied. “The monsters are more aggressive than we thought. They ambushed us. I barely escaped.”“What about the others?” Micheal asked quietly.“I got separated from them during the fight. I don’t know if they made it back.”Micheal felt uneasy. He already understood what death meant in Elyria. It wasn’t simple or light. He even felt that the government was hiding more than just mere info
ROBBED!!!
Bang! Bang! Bang! The monster slammed against Alex’s shield. It was an ape monster, meaning it was a strength based monster. Despite the shield being between him and the monster his hand almost broke from the force.Meanwhile, Micheal stood up from the ground while holding his sword in his right hand. “It’s strong,” Micheal muttered from a distance. As he watched the monster nearly dismantle Alex and his shield. That punch just now took 30% of his health bar. He was quite naive, thinking he could take care of monsters far above his level, now he knew that the buff from the mask was really something. He decided to keep the mask a secret for now, not like the mask was available. It was still lying inside of him recovering. “Cover me.’” Micheal shouted as he attacked, using Alex as cover. But the monster was fast. It stepped aside and punched at Micheal.Micheal expected the attack and blocked it. Even so, he was sent stumbling backward. His hands went numb, and blood came out of his
TRENDING NEWS
Micheal had no shield and was too slow to dodge.Luckily, Alex reacted quickly. He blocked the attack just in time.Seeing the opening, Micheal used all his strength and slashed at the snake’s head.He had noticed the scales were thinner there. The head was cut clean off.Micheal’s heart pounded wildly. He almost died.“Thanks,” Micheal said.Alex nodded and unsummoned his shield. It was damaged and would need time to recover.Micheal walked to the dead corpse of the snake and dug out its core.“Take it,” Micheal said as he tossed it to Alex.Without Alex, they would not have killed that monster.Killing higher-level monsters was much harder than Micheal expected. After resting for a while and Alex's shield recovered, they moved deeper into the forest.Hours passed.Their teamwork became much better. While fighting monsters,Alex lured t
PARALYZING SPIDERS
Meanwhile, Alex joined the red-haired girl in fighting Rowland.Rowland had a huge build and wielded two axes. He was also just a few EXP from level 3.But now that Alex was level 2, he was actually faster than Rowland. However, Alex quickly realized that despite his special speed ability, the red-haired girl, who looked about his age, was even faster than he was. And she was just level 2.But the strange thing was that even though Rowland was slower than both of them, he was still able to land his slashes. It was as if his axes had some kind of locking ability that allowed them to hit their target no matter how fast they moved. So that was the reason the girl kept losing because she had to block Rowland’s attack. She couldn't dodge it. It always found a way to lock on to her. But with Alex's shield in the fray, she felt a lot better and the pressure on her reduced significantly.Vanishing Clouds finally caught her breath and was able to fight back. Soon, the battle was no longer in R
BITTEN!!!
“Screech!” A loud screech echoed through the cave. Micheal looked toward the source of the sound and saw four large spiders. Each of them was nearly half the size of a human. They were Level 3. Micheal and the others were only Level 2. How were they supposed to fight enemies like that? And that wasn’t even counting the many Level 2 spiders mixed within the swarm. After the long screech, the Level 1 spiders rushed toward them. Micheal tightened his grip on his sword. Vanishing Clouds spun her daggers in her hands as she narrowed her eyes in focus. Her face was cold and calm. Alex, who usually joked around, now held his shield tightly. Seeing the spiders approaching them, Vanishing Clouds, who was the only one wearing armor, took the front line and quickly began cutting down the spiders. Micheal didn’t hesitate either. He stepped forward and slashed at the incoming swarm, turning the spirit Qi around him to sword qi. Beside him, Alex weaved through the attacks and smashed spi
NECROMANCER
Silence filled the cave for a long time. The only sound was their heavy breathing.Their bodies were covered in injuries, but the wounds slowly began to heal as they absorbed Spirit Qi from the surroundings. After a while, they slowly got back to their feet. The corpses of the spiders were scattered all across the cave floor. No one spoke. They simply began cutting open the corpses and collecting the cores inside them. After gathering the cores, Micheal finally broke the silence.“We should divide them equally.”No one objected. They quietly watched as Micheal separated the cores into three equal piles. They had been fighting for nearly three hours and didn’t even have the strength left to talk.Still, Micheal felt that Vanishing Clouds had become part of their group. Without her earlier, they might have died in their sleep. After storing all his cores, Alex checked the leaderboard. He had risen to 268th place.Micheal had climbed even higher, reaching 200th place. Earlier, he had bri
BOUNTY
The pressure coming from his body was immense. Micheal could feel it immediately. He suspected the man might even be Level 6.In fact, the aura around him felt far stronger than someone ranked thirty-sixth. Micheal couldn’t help but wonder why someone like him needed spider corpses.Still, they were inside the city.If the man tried anything, the Judges would immediately intervene.Above the old man’s head floated the number 36, making him impossible to ignore. Many players in the city kept glancing in their direction. Moreover, Micheal and his group were also within the top 300 on the leaderboard.“How much are you selling this heap of dead spiders for?” the Necromancer asked as he scrutinized the youths standing in front of him.He was actually shocked that this young lady could be ranked so high. They were the youngest players he had seen ranked this highly, apart from the twins he had met earlier.Micheal didn’t actually know how much they were worth. Seeing the man’s calm demeano
$50,000: INCREASING CONFLIT
Micheal and Alex stepped out of the teleportation portal and began heading toward the coordinates Vanishing Clouds had sent.As they walked through the streets, Micheal started noticing something strange.People kept glancing at them. Some players only took quick looks, but others didn’t even try to hide it. They openly stared and even pointed in their direction. That was when Micheal finally understood how troublesome the leaderboard could be.Even though he had dropped in rank and was now around 400th place, the glowing number above his head still made him easy to recognize among the hundreds of thousands of players in the city. There was no way to hide.Luckily, players couldn’t attack inside the city. But Vanishing Clouds wasn’t inside the city anymore. That meant once they stepped outside, anything could happen.Micheal and Alex took several turns through crowded streets, trying to lose the players who were secretly following them. After a while, they finally exited the city. Not
WEREWOLF MONSTER
High in a mountainous area, groups of Level 4 and Level 5 monsters surrounded two players. The creatures looked like enormous squirrels, each one the size of a grown human. But one after another, the monsters collapsed to the ground.Dead.Standing in the middle of the battlefield were Kaida and Aina.Their movements were fast and precise as they rapidly took down the remaining monsters. After finishing the last one, Aina opened her interface to check what was happening in the game.Suddenly, a familiar name caught her attention.Ageless.The name was everywhere on the news feed. Players were discussing him constantly, talking about how to hunt down his group.“Hey… isn’t this Micheal?” Aina asked as she showed her interface to Kaida. They both remembered that Micheal’s in-game name was Ageless.Kaida leaned closer to look.“Yeah, it’s him. Alex’s name is there too,” she said in surprise. “They’re already in the Top 100.”She was genuinely shocked. The popularity of Elyria had already
