Chapter 11: Wealth Showcasing
Some of the students on stage frowned at once. “Just stop,” someone from Level 1–A whispered harshly at him. “Shut up,” another muttered under their breath. “You’re making it worse.” One of his classmates quickly turned to the attendant. “Please,” he said politely but hurriedly, “he’s two weeks late, he only got admitted today.” Another added, “He doesn’t really understand how things work here yet, that’s why he’s behaving this way.” A few others nodded in agreement, trying to smooth things over. The attendant looked at Kael again, then at the group, his expression tightening slightly. The judges exchanged quiet looks but Kael said nothing more. He stood there silently, hands by his sides, while others spoke for him, explaining him away, dismissing his words as ignorance. Brian sat there quietly, his eyes fixed on Kael. He didn’t say anything, but inside, he was confused. “Why would Kael lie like that? he wondered. “Why say such big things in front of everyone?” It didn’t make
Chapter 12: Gold Mine
Kael nodded calmly. “Yes,” he said. “I’m sure. My grandpa told me, he owns it.” Boom. The whole hall was stunned, for a second, nobody even reacted properly, It was as if everyone had heard the words, but their minds refused to accept them. Then, little by little, faces changed, some turned blank with shock, some twisted with disbelief, while others simply stared at Kael like he had just said the craziest thing ever. Elara was even shaken, Ariana frowned hard, Brian on the other hand had his mouth opened slightly. One of the judges leaned forward at once, her face turning serious. “Do you even know what a gold mine is?” she asked sharply. “Do you understand how much it costs to own one? Tens of millions, sometimes hundreds of millions.” Her eyes narrowed. “Correct yourself, so you mean your grandfather works in a gold mine? As a laborer?” Kael shook his head. “No,” he said. “He owns it.” Gasp! Now the hall really reacted. “What?” “He owns a gold mine?” “This guy has gone
Chapter 13: Attendant Meets Principal
The next second, something surprising occurred, the screen of the device went black again. The attendant pressed the power button, but nothing happened. He pressed again, still nothing, it was at that moment he realized the device had crashed. "Oh Heavens!" His scalp went numb and when he explained to the judges, they became completely shocked that their faces already lost all color. The attendant’s grip tightened around the useless reader as one terrifying thought slowly rose in his mind. "Could it be… could this boy really have that much money?" "Could he have been telling the truth from the start? The wine, the gold mine and everything?" At that moment, he slowly lifted his eyes and looked at Kael again, this time, the way he looked at him had changed completely. Kael noticed the silence and frowned slightly. “Is something wrong?” he asked again. The attendant snapped out of it, quickly pulled the card out, and handed it back. “Our system just broke down,” he said
Chapter 14: Aurelia Heights Estate
A classmate leaned back and smirked. “Probably nothing, that’s why the machine crashed, fake card, fake numbers, fake life.” A few people laughed again. “I’ll say maybe five hundred bucks,” someone else said mockingly. “At most a thousand.” “No way,” another said with fake seriousness. “Didn’t you hear him? His grandpa owns a gold mine, let’s give him ten thousand for effort.” That line pulled more laughter from the room then suddenly, the classroom door opened and the lecturer walked in. The noise died instantly as everyone e rushed back into their seats as if nothing had happened. Chairs scraped and acks straightened. “Alright,” the lecturer said calmly. “Let’s start class.” He turned toward the digital board, and just like that, the lesson began. Meanwhile, in the principal’s office, the principal sat behind his desk handling paperwork, his pen moved steadily across the page until a knock broke the quiet. “Come in,” he said without lifting his head. The door opened, and

Kael shook his head. “Thanks, but I won't really be staying in school,” he said. “I’ll probably rent a house or something.” Brian frowned at once. “Rent in Valaris isn’t cheap at all,” he said. “You won’t get a decent place for less than eight thousand bucks.” Kael nodded calmly. “I was instructed to rent, meaning my balance can” he replied. “And I still need to get clothes and other things, are you busy? You could go with me so I can know the city better.” Brian opened his mouth as if he wanted to agree, but then he stopped and sighed. “I would’ve loved to,” he said honestly, “but I’ve got some things to handle, sorry, maybe next time.” Kael nodded. “No problem, mate, thanks.” Brian then reached into his pocket, brought out two ten-buck notes, and held them toward Kael. “Here, when you get outside, just stop a cab and go to the main part of town.” Kael smiled Impressed, but he gently pushed Brian’s hand back. “Keep it, I’ll handle my stuff.” Brian looked at him for a sec
Chapter 16: Aurelius Heights Estates III
As Kael stepped into the office, a wave of cool air hit his face at once. The inside was quiet and neatly arranged. The lights were soft, the floor was spotless, and the front desk near the entrance looked clean and expensive. A receptionist sat behind it, typing on her computer. The moment she looked up and saw Kael, her eyes paused on his clothes and just from that, she had already judged him in her heart. She looked at him once, then glanced toward the glass door behind him. “Are you here to see someone?” she asked. “No,” Kael replied calmly. “I came to rent a place.” “Rent?” The receptionist was clearly surprised, she looked him up and down properly this time, and the smile on her face tightened a little. “Clients usually come here with prior appointments,” she said. “This office handles confirmed residents only.” After saying that, she lowered her head and returned to her computer as if the matter was already over. Kael frowned slightly, but he still kept his tone
Chapter 17: $200k Apartment,
For a moment, the lady just stared at him, then she laughed. “Are you here to make fun of me?” she asked. “Do you know what you’re saying? People don’t just walk in here and casually ask to buy apartments.” Her tone turned colder. “Young man, this level of property is not something people joke about, purchases here are usually handled through financial representatives or prior arrangements.” She looked at him from head to toe again, this time even more openly. “How much do you even make to be talking about buying property here?” she asked. “Do you even know where you are?” Kael’s face did not change. “I prefer ownership,” he said simply. “That is why I asked.” The lady shook her head lightly. “It’s too expensive,” she said. “This is not something people your age usually talk about.” Then she paused and gave him the number. “If you want to buy that apartment outright, it is 230,000 bucks, If you want an installment, it goes up to 350,000 bucks.” “230,000…” Kael repeated th
Chapter 18: Celeste Harrington
Still, something in Kael’s tone made her hesitate, he was too calm and too sure. With an annoyed breath, she dropped the phone on the desk, grabbed the card again, and pushed it hard into the machine. Her fingers moved quickly as she entered 200,000 bucks. Then she shoved the device toward him. “Pin.” Kael entered it and instantly, the system began to load. For a second, nothing happened. Ding. A sharp green light flashed across the screen. TRANSACTION APPROVED. The sound seemed louder than it should have been, at that moment, neither of them moved. Kael’s phone vibrated lightly in his hand, he looked down, saw the debit alert, then slipped the phone back into his pocket as if it was nothing. The lady on the other hand was still frozen, her fingers hovered over the machine, then she whispered to herself, “Check again.” Right after that, she refreshed the screen, but the approval was still there, as If not convinced, she refreshed it again, but it was still there.
Chapter 19: Clothes Shopping
Soon after arriving, they both walked into the place. As Kael stepped inside, the beauty of the place continued at once, the apartment was quiet, cool, and clean, everything looked expensive. The colors were soft, the furniture was arranged perfectly, everything felt completely different from the houses in his village. Celeste walked ahead and showed him around, from the dining area, then into the kitchen, everything fully furnished. After that, she took him to the bedrooms which were three in total. Kael looked around slowly, satisfied “I love everything,” he said. “It’s perfect.” Celeste’s smile widened at once. “I’m very happy to hear that,” she said. “And once again, I want to apologize for how I—” “It’s fine,” Kael cut in gently. “You don’t have to keep apologizing.” Celeste nodded, but she still wanted to repair the impression she had made earlier. “Mr. Danaru,” she said more carefully, “I misjudged the situation before.” Kael shook his head once. “It happens.” Cele
Chapter 20: Clothes Shopping II
The attendant pointed toward another section and said, “There are cheaper suits over there too, they still look very good, you can check those instead.” Kael paused for a moment and looked at the suit again, he had already taken a liking to it, she turned back calmly. “I want this one,” he said. “Don’t worry about that.” Gasp! The attendant froze. “Excuse me?” he asked, clearly shocked. “I just said it costs 5,000 bucks.” “I heard you,” Kael replied calmly. “I still want it.” The attendant forced out a smile, but the moment he turned slightly to gather the clothes, his face changed. Under his breath, he muttered in a mocking tone, “People these days really have no shame. They pick things they can’t afford, then come and waste everyone’s time.” He glanced at Kael again, then snorted. “If this fool can’t pay in the end, I’ll make sure he never steps into this store again.” Kael did not hear all of it clearly, but from the man’s face alone, he already knew what kind of thought
