Silence persisted, but just when Patrick was starting to feel like they had come to their senses, Lara’s voice broke out, like the sound of a cannon, exploding after a long period of battle had ended.“I didn’t realize that his son had taken over the company…” She remarked, turning to face Brian.Even though the disdain flashing in her eyes had diminished, there was still little or no regard for the young man standing before her.“I just hope that he will be as good as his father. With all the stories I have heard about Mr. Regal, I don’t think that anyone would be able to achieve the things he has achieved within the last two years…”“Exactly, Lara…” The lady standing beside her nodded, then she took a deep breath. She was her accomplice, and they looked so much like each other, probably because they shared the same character traits.“Anyways…” She scoffed, taking a few steps forward. She made sure that there was enough space between her and Brian, then she extended her right hand to

“Not at all, Mr. Regal. Why would I even do that?” Patrick was quick to deny what was almost looking like an accusation, especially with the uncertainty crawling inside him.“I don’t know why they have decided to bring disgrace to this company with their disgusting attitudes…” He turned to the team members, his rage still very much palpable.“That’s because he is not who we were expecting to see, Mr. Rostova…” Lara blurted, assuming the role of the team's most active and disgruntled member.“The only reason why we are still standing here…” She continued, rolling her eyes, this time palpably at Brian.“… is because we wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression to his father. That’s all…” She was very bold with her statement, maintaining her twisted expression.Soon, her eyes met Brian's, and she gave him another look that suggested dismissal.“Maybe Mr. Regal here should go back to his City and remain there. He doesn’t need to be here in Lakeville to monitor things. We can be giving hi

Brian didn’t flinch, nor did he break his silence. He maintained close eye contact with Drew, something that should have given the young man a bit of a concern. But the latter was too arrogant, and that blinded his sense of judgment.“Why are you quiet? Are you scared?” He laughed so hard that the rest of the team joined him.“He is definitely scared of you, Drew!” Cleo stated, taking a few steps forward.“Don’t you see how muscular you are? With just a punch, you can send him sprawling to the ground…” She sniggered, turning to Brian with disdain sparkling in her eyes.“Drew will beat you like a child. You will go running back to your mother’s arms…”“I don’t think his mum is still alive…” Brick remarked, staring at Brian with mockery smeared on his face.“Oh…” Lara scoffed, her eyes on Brian.“Then he will be running back to his father, I guess…” She suggested, taking a deep breath.“But unfortunately…” She paused just to be sure Brian was paying attention.“I don’t think Daddy would

“So…” Brian folded his arms, staring at the team members with a wry smile.“You were saying…”“Mr. Regal…” Drew cleared his throat, then he took a step forward. There was panic written all over his face, and it seemed to have gripped his legs as well.“We are very sorry. This is clearly a misunderstanding…” His voice was slippery, his lips shaking while he thought about the next words to say.“We didn’t know it was you…” He stuttered, forced to take a deep breath in order to gather momentum. The others nodded in agreement to his words, but none of them could bring themselves to speak.“I promise you, Mr. Regal…” Drew continued, then he forced a smile.“We love and admire your work. We have always wished to have the opportunity. This is a dream come true for all of us…” He chuckled dryly, the apprehension laced in his tone.“I know you are angry that I almost attacked you. But I can assure you that was just a harmless joke. I would never try to attack someone like you…”“He is telling
