Chapter 1
It was a very hot afternoon, and the air conditioners in the hall were trying their best but still doing little to nothing to ease the heat in the air.Sweat kept forming on Tristian’s forehead, refusing to stop no matter how many times he wiped it away.He was nervous, far more nervous than someone should be on their graduation day but this wasn’t just about his graduation.Today was the day he had been waiting for, the day he would finally propose to his girlfriend, Lyra. They had been together since their very first day in college, from the moment they met up until now. They had shared almost everything, struggles, laughter, small arguments, late-night study sessions, and even their dreams for the future. Now that they were finally graduating, they had already made plans to continue their education together and return for their master’s program. To Tristian, this felt like the perfect moment and the perfect day to take that one step forward and ask Lyra to be his forever. He had be
Chapter 2
Tristian stood there, his face pale and his lips slightly parted. He wanted to speak, to explain himself, but Lyra didn’t give him the chance. She kept going, her voice loud and echoing across the open space.“And you know what the craziest part is?” she said, letting out a small, sarcastic laugh. “The craziest part is that the last luxury bag I bought for myself, would take you at least five years to earn the money I spent on it. Five years, Tristian!”She paused, shaking her head as she stared at him like she couldn’t believe how pathetic he looked to her.“And now you’re standing here on your knees, proposing to me with a cheap little ring, thinking I’d say yes?” she continued, her voice filled with mockery. Her laugh came again, louder this time, making the crowd whisper even more. “You must be out of your goddamn mind and completely insane if you think I’d ever say yes to this!”Tristian felt like he might faint right there. His whole body trembled, and he could feel the heat rus
Chapter 3
Tristian felt too many emotions all at once and for a moment, it felt like he was drowning, like he couldn’t breathe anymore. His chest tightened painfully as the last thing Lyra said echoed again and again in his head.“What… what do you mean you’re with Damon now?” he asked, his voice shaking, his words coming out slow and broken. His mind refused to process it and It felt impossible to believe what he had just heard.Lyra was with Damon, out of all the boys she could be with, she chose Damon?Damon was one of the richest boys in their class and in the entire school. Everyone knew that he came from a wealthy background, the kind that made him walk around like he owned the world. He had cars, connections, money and everything else a wealthy person could have and for the longest time, Tristian had known Damon had always wanted Lyra. It was never a secret. Damon would flirt with her in class, always finding one reason or another to talk to her or touch her hair, even when he knew she w
Chapter 4
Tristian wasn’t even paying attention anymore to what Damon or Lyra were saying. Everything that came out of their mouths sounded like distant noise to him now, like meaningless echoes fading into the background. He just stood there for a few seconds, completely numb, before quietly turning around and walking away from the hall, ignoring the people laughing, whispering, and calling him names. He didn’t look back, he couldn’t. His chest felt too heavy, his vision blurred with unshed tears, and every step he took felt weaker than the last, like his body was slowly giving up on him.He had never imagined that the same people he laughed with, studied with, and shared so many memories with would one day stand there and mock him like that. He never thought his poor background would become something people laughed about, or that the girl he loved the most would be the one to use his deepest pain against him.And the worst part was that, the word illegitimate, was said so easily, like it wa
Chapter 5
Everything began to make sense to Tristian. At first, the memories filled his head slowly, then, all at once, everything became clear, with what happened with Lyra, the argument, the heavy feeling in his chest as he saw Damon kiss her, the strong urge to leave and then…the accident. His breathing stopped for a moment and his face turned pale as the truth hit him hard. His fingers tightened on the bedsheet, and his whole body went still. It was because of Lyra this happened, because he didn’t want to stay in the same space with her and because he chose to walk away. His mother saw the change in his look immediately as she had been watching him closely from the moment he woke up. The second his face changed in color, fear filled her eyes.“Tristian!” she called out, her voice shaking as she rushed closer. “Are you okay? Is something wrong? Are you in pain? Talk to me, please!”Her hand quickly reached for the emergency button beside the bed, ready to call the nurse.“Mom, I’m fine,” Tri
Chapter 6
While the back and forth between the nurse and Tristian was ongoing, his mother could not help but feel deeply worried. Fear sat heavily in her chest as she watched the situation unfold, scared that it might escalate further or that Tristian might lose his temper and end up hitting the nurse, which would definitely bring serious consequences. She knew her son too well. She knew how quickly his anger could rise whenever someone talked down on her or humiliated her. There had been many times in the past when customers had insulted her at her small fruit shop, speaking harshly and disrespectfully, and Tristian had almost stepped in to fight them because of it. That was the kind of son he was, he was protective, sensitive, and unable to tolerate disrespect toward his mother. She was relieved as she watched the nurse leave and was glad that Tristian held himself back this time and did not act out of anger.“Mom, how long have I been here? And how did you even get me to the hospital?” Tr
Chapter 7
As the lecture continued, Tristian tried his best to pay attention but he couldn’t and no matter how hard he focused, he did not understand anything the lecturer was saying. It was as if her words were passing through his ears without meaning, floating away before he could grasp them. He didn’t even know where she had started from or how the topic had developed. Everything sounded confusing, scattered, and far too complex for him to follow. And honestly, that had always been his problem.Even during his undergraduate days, Tristian had barely understood what lecturers were teaching. He always struggled silently, trying to catch up while others seemed to understand effortlessly. Most of the time, he had to rely on Caleb just to make sense of what was being taught. Even Caleb, at times, would struggle to explain things properly because Tristian’s level of understanding was always very low. It wasn’t that he didn’t try, it was just difficult for him to process academic concepts the sam
Chapter 8
Hours later, lectures finally came to an end, and Tristan was in a hurry to leave the school. Caleb had already made plans for the both of them to go out together by the end of the day, but after everything that had just happened, Tristan completely lost interest. He did not feel like talking, he did not feel like explaining anything, and he did not even feel like staying around anyone. He just wanted to be alone.Caleb called him, asking him what was going on and why he suddenly left like that, but Tristan ignored the call. He did not pick up, and he did not reply. As soon as Tristan got home, he thought about telling his mom what was happening to him. He really wanted to tell her everything, but after thinking about it again, he decided not to. He was not even sure what was going on with him, so how was he supposed to explain it to someone else? For the rest of the day, Tristan kept testing the ability that he suddenly discovered in class. He kept going over different things, trying
Chapter 9
But at the same time, something in Tristian’s memory began to change as he started remembering things that had happened over the last two weeks, especially after the accident. The accident was very severe, but he did not die, and did not suffer any serious injuries. He even woke up feeling different, and even better than before he had the accident. He had been eating more than usual, his senses felt sharper, and just yesterday, he discovered something impossible… the ability to never forget anything he read.As much as he wanted to deny what Auron was saying, everything that had changed in him felt like proof but Tristan still could not stop laughing softly in disbelief, shaking his head again. After a moment, Auron spoke again. “May I ask, Master, when you are ready to begin training?”Auron had already said before that its purpose was to train him into a super agent.Tristan frowned. “Are you saying that I can become a super agent too?” He knew himself too well. He had a weak body
Chapter 10
“If you want to become an agent, you must complete the training course, master. Of course, you can choose to give up and only learn knowledge that has nothing to do with physical strength.” “But if you do that, there will be many skills and information you will never be able to access.”Tristan slowly ran a hand through his hair, frustrated.“And this exercise… It is not only for strengthening your physique. It also develops your brain and your reaction ability. If you do not train it, your learning capacity in other areas will be very limited.”Tristan sighed heavily. “So you are saying I have to go through all of this if I want to become a super agent?”“Yes.”“How long will it take?” he asked again.Auron paused for a moment before answering.“According to Earth time, it will take approximately one year at most. Within that time, you will be able to complete all super agent training courses and reach the standard required for interstellar level agents.”Tristan went silent for a m
