The assassin’s face changed drastically…..That was enough. Lucian saw it immediately.“So you do know.”“I only know that someone contacted the clan.”“Who?”“I never saw his face.”Lucian’s eyes remained fixed on him.“What did he want?”The assassin hesitated before finally answering.“They wanted the challenge.”Lucian’s fingers slowly loosened.“The challenge?”“They wanted Judge in that arena.”“Why?”The man looked away.Lucian stepped closer, and the assassin instinctively moved back until his shoulders touched the stone wall.“They wanted to watch you.”The words made Lucian’s expression harden.“Watch me?”“They had heard stories.”“What stories?”“That you were different.”Lucian said nothing. The assassin continued carefully, almost as if every word might cost him his life.“They heard about the way you fought, the way you survived battles you shouldn’t have survived, the things people couldn’t explain when they fought you. Chapter 72: Tremor
The tremor that shook Blackstone Arena came without warning. He stepped closer. “I expected more.” Lucian turned fully toward him. “Then you should have come earlier.” The man’s smile widened slightly. “Perhaps.” He did not draw his weapon. That caught Lucian’s attention. The young man simply stood there, studying him. His gaze moved from Lucian’s mask to his hands, then down toward the ground where the earlier tremor left several new cracks. “You seem different from the
