Death?!
HOWL!!The air in the dungeon tasted like copper and rust.‘Heavy. It was so damn heavy.’Damon Silverstar clenched his teeth, adjusting the canvas backpack higher on his shoulders. The straps dug into his collarbones, tightening against bruised skin. Inside the pack, there were high grade mana potions, spare weapons, and the harvested mana cores of fifty low level monsters. It weighed easily over a hundred pounds.Damon was an F-Rank Awakened. In the cruel hierarchy of this awakened world, F-Rank meant you were nothing. You were garbage."Hurry up, Damon! Stop dragging your feet!"The arrogant voice echoed through the dark, obsidian cavern. Damon looked up, wiping a mixture of sweat and monster grime from his forehead.Walking ten paces ahead was Killian, the Golden Boy of the Azure Dragon Guild. Killian was an A-Rank Swordsman, clad in shimmering silver armor that cost more than Damon would earn in a lifetime. Levitating above Killian’s head, there was a faint golden halo: a sign th
Lies
The Abyssal Death Knight was a creature born from the deep nightmares of the dungeon. It stood over ten feet tall, a walking catastrophe of rusted iron and swirling black miasma. Just a few minutes ago, this S-Rank anomaly had scared away an A-Rank Tank like a fly. It had brought Killian, the so-called Golden Boy, to his knees in terror. But right now… The monster was trembling.Damon Silverstar stood in the center of the shattered boss room, bathed in a crimson light. The heavy, unpleasant air of the dungeon had been overwritten by a divine pressure. In his right hand, the Mythic tier scythe, Severance of Destiny, thumping with a rhythmic heartbeat. The blade was made of crystallized, crimson blood. It felt ponderous in his grip, yet it emitted a power so precise that the space around the curved edge seemed to warp and obscure.A transparent crimson screen hovered at the edge of his vision. The text scrolled fastly, ignoring all standard system formatting.[Goddess of Fate]: It dared
Loneliness
CLICK! FLASH! CLICK!The silence outside the A-Rank gate was deafening. Flashbulbs from the reporters’ cameras froze the scene in white light. Damon Silverstar stood in the center, his midnight black coat lingering slightly in the cold night breeze. At his feet an impossible thing rested, a S-Rank Abyssal core, emitting a suffocating, dark aura that made the armed Association guards take a step backward.Killian remained sprawled in the mud. His silver armor, usually so pristine and heroic, was covered in brown filth. He looked like a cornered rat, his eyes darting frantically between the S-Rank core and Damon’s healed right leg."F-Fake!" Killian shrieked, his voice cracking. He pointed a trembling, mud stained finger at the black gemstone. "It has to be a fake! An F-Rank trash like him couldn't even scratch an S-Rank anomaly! He stole it! Or... or it's a prop! He's trying to scam the Association!"Captain Sato of the Awakened Association ignored the screaming swordsman. With slow, c
First Scenario (1)
SHINE!!Sunlight pierced through the blast proof glass of the Roppongi penthouse, casting long, sharp shadows across the empty room. Damon Silverstar opened his eyes. He didn't stretch. He lay perfectly still on the cold hardwood floor, his breathing slow and measured.Directly above his head, the Omni-View camera hovered silently in the air. The tiny red recording light was unblinking.A crimson screen appeared in his field of vision.[Goddess of Fate]: Good morning, my love.[Goddess of Fate]: You slept six hours and fourteen minutes. Your heart rate was elevated during the third hour. Were you dreaming of me?[Goddess of Fate]: I watched your chest rise and fall all night. You are so beautiful when you are helpless.Damon ignored the freezing chill that crawled up his spine. He pushed himself off the floor, his muscles feeling alien to him. There was no ache, no fatigue. The lingering pain from three years of brutal porter work had vanished. He stood up and looked at his hands. He
First Scenario (2)
The blue light of the teleportation pillar vanished, replaced by an oppressive, suffocating darkness. Damon Silverstar’s boots hit the ground with a rigid thud. The air here was different from the damp caves of the A-Rank dungeon. It was dry, hot, and smelled overwhelmingly like old, dried blood. He slowly opened his eyes.Above him, the sky was purple. There were no stars. Instead, a swollen moon hung low in the sky, shimmering with a sickening crimson light. It bathed the landscape in a hellish red filter. Damon looked around. He was standing in the middle of a corridor. The walls on either side were made of jagged, black obsidian stone, skewering at least a hundred feet into the air. The corridor stretched endlessly forward and backward, branching off into far, shadowy intersections.A labyrinth. The blue holographic system screen popped up in front of his face, the text glitching slightly before stabilizing.[Main Scenario Commencing!][Title: The Blood Moon Labyrinth][Difficulty
First Scenario (3)
The obsidian walls of the Blood Moon Labyrinth seemed like they were breathing. Damon Silverstar walked slowly down the endless corridor. THUD! THUD!The wet sound of his boots echoed in the silence. Behind him, the shredded remains of the A-Rank Lycans and the foolish hunters who tried to use him as bait were already fading away, absorbed by the dungeon’s recycling system. He didn't feel a drop of pity. In this world, weakness was a sin, but stupidity was a death sentence.[System Notice!][You have absorbed 10 A-Rank Lycan Cores.][Your Agility has increased by 5.][Your Vitality has increased by 3.]Damon casually swiped the blue screen away. His stats were broken for someone of his level. The Mythic-tier coat, Embrace of the Goddess of Fate, fluttered slightly behind his knees, keeping his body temperature regulated despite the chill of the labyrinth. He looked up. The giant, swollen crimson moon hung above the open roofed maze, casting a sickening red glow over the black stone.
First Scenario (4)
CRRRRAAANNNKKK!!The golden doors groaned loudly as Damon pushed them open. He stepped over the threshold and into a dome shaped chamber. Unlike the claustrophobic obsidian corridors of the labyrinth, this room was vast, resembling the inside of an old cathedral. There were no pillars, traps, and hiding spots.Levitating petrified in the center of the room, locked to the floor and ceiling by shimmering chains of blue energy, there was the Labyrinth Core.HOWL!!It looked like a large, thudding human heart made of jagged blue crystal. Every time the crystal thumped, a shockwave of raw mana crawled over the room, making the air thick and hard to breathe.Damon rested the handle of his crimson scythe against his shoulder, walking slowly toward the beating crystal."So this is what keeps the maze running," Damon muttered. "Break this, and the scenario ends."He stopped ten feet away from the core, and slowly raised the Severance of Destiny, preparing to cut the crystal in half and go home
Shadows of Azure Dragon Guild
[Goddess of Fate]: I did not ask you.[Goddess of Fate]: I gave you the thread to walk the maze safely. I gave you the coat to block the S-Rank magic. I held your sister's heart together while you played hero.[Goddess of Fate]: You owe me, Damon.Damon clenched his fists. His jaw tightened so hard. The sudden shift from obsessive praise to controlling threats gave him a whiplash. She never let him forget who held the leash."Fine," Damon spoke, his voice thick with tiredness. He turned and entered the massive glass-walled master bathroom. He didn't bother turning on the lights. The neon glow from the city outside provided enough illumination. He started to unbutton his dark shirt. He reached out and grabbed the hovering Omni-View camera, turning the lens toward the blank wall."I said fine," Damon muttered. "Just give me ten minutes of privacy."The camera suddenly hummed loudly. It ripped itself out of Damon's grip, levitating backward until it hovered in front of the glass shower d
Assasination?
"Domain of Silence," Damon whispered.WOOP!!A wave of grey energy metaphorically expanded from the ring, covering the penthouse in a fraction of a second. The hum of the city traffic outside vanished. The soft hum of the refrigerator died. The world was plunged into a suffocating void of sound.Damon slowly stood up from the couch and turned around to face the three assassins, his crimson eyes shining brightly in the dark room, burning with a ruthless fury. He had just survived an S-Rank labyrinth. He had just endured the humiliating torture of his Goddess. He was in a very bad mood, and Kaito had just delivered three punching bags to his living room. The lead assassin recovered from his shock. He opened his mouth and shouted an order to his men, but no sound came out. The Domain of Silence swallowed his voice. Panic flashed in his eyes. The two flanking assassins pounced forward, their daggers shimmering with dark necrotic mana. They aimed for Damon’s ribs.Damon didn't summon his M
Trash
Morning in Tokyo arrived with a cold, grey drizzle. Damon Silverstar stood at the side of the windows of his Roppongi penthouse, looking down at the endless sea of umbrellas on the street below. He had not slept. After packing the severed remains of the Azure Dragon assassins into the black trash bag, he had spent the rest of the night sitting on the couch, staring at the wall, while the Omni-View camera stared at him."System," Damon said, breaking the quiet hum of the rain hitting the glass. "Status window."A blue holographic screen appeared in the air in front of him.[Name: Damon Silverstar][Age: 21][Class: Sovereign's Executioner (Mythic)][Title: S-Rank Anomaly Slayer][Level: 50][Stats]Strength: 185Agility: 210Vitality: 155Mana: 800Perception: 110[Unassigned Stat Points: 25][Exclusive Skills]- Severance of Destiny (Lv. 2)- Void Step (Lv. 2)[Sponsor: The Goddess of Fate][Karma Points: 38,500,000]Damon looked at the unassigned stat points he had gained from levelin
