CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO Realizing that what he said unexpectedly worked out for him, Patrick decided that he was going to stick with it even though he felt a cringe all over him as a result of saying the things he didn't mean to say to her. “You think I am beautiful?” Adrianna asked with her rough and scanty brows lifted to form a furrow while Patrick stood almost frozen in front of her with his eyes avoiding a stare at Seth who was slowly getting closer with every passing second. “What are you looking at?” Adrianna said with a low tone, and then she tried to turn around to look toward the direction of the other adventurers she tied to trees when she realized that Patrick was distracted. “Yes! I think you are very beautiful!” Patrick continued anxiously, looking at Adrianna who was forced to remain the way she was the moment she heard him say she was beautiful. “You are the most beautiful Enchantress I have ever seen, Adrianna! I love the way you smile, it reminds me of the sun,

CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE He looked at Seth whose appearance was the only solace that he and at that moment, and he urged him to hurry with whatever he was about to do. Fortunately, Seth was not his usual self at that moment, and the rest of the adventurers were glad that he wasn’t shaking like a leaf while he lifted his sword and stood a few inches behind the old witch who was completely unaware of what was going on behind her. With his hands still holding onto Adrianna with firm grips, Patrick managed to pull her a bit closer to himself while still struggling with her bad breath and awful appearance. He looked at Seth who was ready to take a strike, and then he made his grip tighter and looked behind the witch to look at Seth. “Seth, now!” He continued holding onto Adrianna while Seth forcefully plunged his sword through her back with both hands, causing the other end to come out through her back. “What have you done?” Adrianna screamed in pain while she looked at Patrick who inst

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FOUR The sound of Adrianna’s voice caused the five adventurers to turn to look at her. She was still on the floor, grunting in so much pain, and when she attempted to crawl toward another corner of the hut, her strength failed her, and she remained in her position. “We need to leave,” Jarden said to the others, and then he managed to bend down slowly to pick up the map from the floor before taking a step toward the exit of the hut. Succumbing to the bruises all over his body, he staggered after making a second attempt to walk, almost falling to the ground. Patrick was able to catch him before he fell, and he held onto him firmly with both hands. “Come on, this way…” Patrick helped Jarden to move toward the exit of the hut, and when he was sure that he had gotten a grip on himself, he let him go and hurriedly picked up his energy blade before he joined the others who had rushed out of the hut. “Hurry, Patrick !” Lucy called out to him the moment she saw him comin

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVE “This can’t be right, this must be a mistake.” “What is it, Jarden? What did you see?” Lucy asked curiously as she drew closer to him, and peeped at the map to figure out what he was worried about. Seth drew closer almost immediately, alongside Borius who was standing by Jarden’s left side. They peeped at the map, trying to figure out what Jarden was concerned about. “Look at this…” Jarden pointed to a blue line on the map which went straight from one point to another, with drawings made with black ink. “What is it?” Lucy was confused just like every other person who had their eyes on the map alongside Jarden who was the only one aware of what he was talking about. Slowly, Jarden walked toward the cliff with the map ahead of him and tightly held with both hands. His eyes were staring at the river keenly while his face showed signs of both curiosity and deep concern. “Why is he acting so strangely?” Sierra said with a whisper, and then she started to follow

CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX The suspense that lingered in the midst of the six adventurers was accompanied by a sudden silence that almost engulfed them entirely until Patrick decided that it was time to discard the silence. He cleared his throat twice to draw their attention, and when he was certain that everyone was looking at him, he began to address them. “Listen, guys…” He started with a calm tone, gesturing to them even though Sierra didn’t seem interested in what he was about to say. “What the three of you did was totally wrong, you couldn’t have hidden such an important thing from us. But we can’t stand here all day and talk about it as though we don't have other important things to worry about…” “But they refused to tell us that they had spoken to Charles Oliver before he died. Why would they hide that kind of information from us? How can we even trust them after this? Elves!” Seth scoffed in annoyance, and at that moment, he began to distance himself from Jarden who realized th

CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN “That settles it then.” Patrick turned to look at Jarden who lifted his face as he began to feel a bit relieved from the cringe he felt all over him, together with Borius who sighed softly. “Now, you guys are going to tell us everything that happened between you and Charles Oliver. We want to know all that he told you, no secrets.” “Yes, he is right. No secrets.” Seth supported Patrick at once, nodding with a smirk on his face. He totally ignored Sierra who didn't seem so pleased that he had spoken, and insisted on his demand. “How did you even get into his cell without the guards seeing you?” Lucy asked when she realized that she could no longer keep her thoughts to herself. She looked at Borius who seemed like he was ready to talk, and then she folded her arms while paying keen attention. “I have some friends among the guards, they agreed to help us get into his cell. With a price, of course. They insisted that it was going to be the night before the da

CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHT At that time, there was a few seconds of silence while everyone was trying to get out of the confusion that lingered in their minds. “What do you mean by that, Seth? How can we move to another dimension without knowing it? Is that even possible?”“Well, I think so…” Seth said with a little certainty, but that wasn’t enough to conBorius Lucy and Patrick who seemed to be more doubtful than the others, especially Lucy who disagreed with a shake of her head. “This is insane!” Lucy sighed, her eyes showing signs of doubt and uncertainty while she looked at Seth, hoping to get more explanations for his claims. “You are saying that we might have entered into another dimension without knowing?”“That’s correct, Patrick .” Seth nodded to affirm his words, looking convincingly at Patrick who sighed softly before he continued. “At what point to you think we got into another dimension, then?” Patrick asked the most puzzling question, putting everyone in a period of lo

CHAPTER EIGHTY-NINE “Well, there is one way to find out, guys.” Patrick broke the silence that lingered in their midst, and everyone quickly understood what he meant even though he didn’t say any other word. “Do you think it’s safe? We have lost all our bags, we don’t have anything to eat, and I am famished.” Lucy grunted while she looked at Patrick who suddenly realized that he was hungry as well. “There is only one way to find out. We will stick together while we check it out. Jarden?” Patrick turned to look at Jarden who was already staring at him, waiting to hear what he was going to say. “Point us in the right direction. Everyone, brace up for whatever lies ahead.” Patrick gestured to Jarden who sighed heavily before he looked into the map. He stared at it for a few seconds, and when he was able to confirm his words, he lifted his face and followed the trail of the river. “That way, we will follow that way. We should be able to get to the seven mountains before sunset if

CHAPTER NINETY Patrick and Lucy turned almost at the same time to look at Seth who slowed down to join their conversation. He had a bright smile on his face, and notwithstanding the fact that it didn’t seem pleasant to them that he was eavesdropping on their conversation, they couldn’t really get angry at him no matter how hard they tried to. “I can imagine the look on her face when I return victoriously to fulfill all her desires, she is definitely going to love me more, I am certain of that. No one in this universe is going to love me like her, and no one will ever take her place in my life.” “Oh, really?” Patrick chuckled softly, looking at Seth who nodded to affirm his words. The look on his face showed so much certainty, but that wasn’t enough to conBorius Patrick that the Centaur was certain of what he was saying. “Are you sure about this, Seth? I mean, I am not trying to say that she would betray you, but I just don’t want you to get your hopes too high. Sometimes, we g

CHAPTER NINETY-ONE “Not really, Lucy. You see, I was the one who insisted that I wanted to go beyond the boundary to get her those flowers. She didn’t want me to go, but I really wanted to prove my love for her.”“Why do I have the feeling that you are lying, Seth?”Lucy asked with a smirk on her face, looking at Seth who chuckled softly. “You really have to believe me, guys…” Seth insisted, looking at the two Humans walking together with him one after the other. He returned his gaze to Lucy afterward, and then he continued after a soft sigh. “She would never do anything to hurt me, I am sure of it.”“Really? And you decided to put yourself in danger just to prove your love for her?” Patrick asked with a tone laced with the little bemusement that had gotten a greater part of him. Seth wanted to give him a response at once, but then he felt that the words he had in mind to say were not going to be enough to conBorius Patrick , and he paused for a few seconds while he tried to figu
