Fee seconds after, Chloe pressed a button under the table and the roof of the room gradually slid open and a a steel ladder gradually came down till it stopped when the end had touched the floor of the room.  Rowen wasted no time, he claimed the ladder and went out of the room through the roof. As he got to the top of the building, he saw a white helicopter waiting on the hanger. The pilot was already inside and the rotor blade spinning at a very high speed and making a whirring sound.  Rowen got into the helicopter while he waited for Chloe who was taking her time climbing up through the ladder. The pilot greeted Rowen with a bow and he responded by waving at him.  In a few seconds time, Chloe walked into the helicopter and seeing that she was i

The elevator doors opened and Rowen walked out with Chloe right behind him.The hallway was quieter than before.A few members of the organization were still moving between offices, but most of them immediately stepped aside when they noticed the Supreme Regent approaching.Rowen didn't stop. They soon reached another section of the building where two black SUVs were waiting near the private entrance.A driver stepped out of the first vehicle and opened the rear door.Rowen got in.Chloe entered from the other side. The driver closed the doors and returned to his seat.“Where to, Sir?”“The old industrial district.”“Yes, Sir.”The engine came alive. The gates opened and the vehicle drove out of the compound.A second SUV followed closely behind them.Chloe looked through the window as the buildings passed by.“You still haven't told me why you don't want the men to go ahead of us.”Rowen rested his arm against the door.“Because if someone is watching the organization, sending a larg

Nine had authorization to use the security terminal on the forty-sixth floor. He opened the records of the first person on the list, checked the employment dates, and moved to the next.Chloe sat across from him, reviewing the same information on her tablet.“Six of these people no longer work here,” she said. “Three resigned, two were dismissed, and one died last year.”“Have their departures been investigated?”“Not yet. Gregory is checking their files.”Rowen continued reading. One name appeared repeatedly in the access records: Marcus Vane, the former deputy director of restricted operations.“Where is Vane now?” Rowen asked.Chloe checked the personnel file.“He resigned fourteen months ago.
