Chapter 30 - River of Blood
His domain circled them and space simply kept whatever they said in their circle."She's an SS grade shape shifter who used my teacher's face to lure us down here. She doesn't just possess the ability to shapeshift, but could create an illusion to make everyone believe that he's real. I could have easily detected soemthing but I did not."Everyone was silent and cold. Not a single soul could say that they were comfortable standing in the valley where a terrifying creature had burst out from and having this conversation."I don't want her to know... and I don't think she knows. I also believe that this is her first zone and she had been trapped in it."Everyone was starting to see the direction where Rime was headed. "So we won't let her know about the array stuff?"Aidris suddenly had an epiphany. "Shouldn't there be one down here, since here had initially been dangerous."Rime smiled, "Exactly... It is dangerous even having this conversation here so let us find the array and leave."
Chapter 31 - Red Waters
Rime was shocked when he plunged deep underneath a river, but what was more terrifying is the fact that the so-called water is actually blood. He drank and actually swallowed a mouthfull. He positioned himself under and slowly swam upwards until he broke out of the surface. Then, his expression turned dark when he realised that everywhere was covered with a river of blood. He cranned his neck, looking everywhere until Aidris broke out of the water, panting deeply. Seeing Rime, he sighed in relief and asked, "What about the others?"Rime shrugged. He did not want to leave anyone behind, but staying under the water was a risk. He couldn't take it. His life mattered most, so he looked around to find a place that they could climb. Then, he saw something that resembles a platform which was a bit slanted to the sides, in such a way if care is not taken, then anyone atop could fall into the water and probably injure themselves. He immediately signalled Aidris and they rushed to the platf
Chapter 32 - ODEN is my Name
Bruce stared at Rime, starting to realise a very crucial detail from the young man. This is probably him when he first entered his early twenties. He had matured from young and yet Rime, 19 years was already adopting such qualities. It was very terrifying. Then he remembered something and asked it. "What's your rank?"Rime sighed. "Tier 6."Bruce's expression did not tweak because it had been the same with him. He could have easily broken through into the Valkyrie rank, but he feared the hands of the government. Now, Rime's already a Tier 6. That was a bad signal..."You can't let them know... Not one... not even your team."But Rime shook his hair and said, "they already know. All of them."Bruce's eyes were like fire crackers, he couldn't help but want to scold Rime. "You're growing so impulsive, Rime."Rime laughed subtly. "You cannot survive alone here in this hell hole. Actually, you are quite capable, but I am not yet. I need everyone's help to survive."Bruce frowned... "Fr
Chapter 33 - The Government's Interference
Space around them cracked that a single delay and they would have the same fate as that gargantuan bird creature. Rime immediately expanded space and he had an idea. "Everyone, no delay... we might find another place above the waters... But we won't do that just standing here."He immediately jumped to another section of the red waters saying, "every space I can solidify only have five seconds to stay solidified. I don't have much mana to expend so we have to be cautious."He moved to the next solidified space and everyone followed behind... Only that, Rime was alaways one step ahead, keeping his space solid for no longer than five seconds. If Bruce wasn't proud, then he was lying. He already had an idea, ready to be implemented, but who would have expected that Rime's idea would be less dangerous. No one was left behind, and thirty minutes of jumping, they saw a cliff that towered a few meters above sea level. This cliff looked like land that they might possibly find an array or eve
Chapter 34 - Category 6 gate
By the time everyone was extracted from the realm, the tagged gateways had almost completely vanished. And out of the many students and government officials that were sent into the other realm, only a few of them managed to survive.Everyone was impossibly calm. In fact, who wouldn't be after their experience in a horror filled realm. No one knew why they were being pulled out early so they waited for some sort of address by the captain. While everyone waited, Rime was approached by someone he never expected to be alive after such an experience. It was Anthony. And for some reason, Rime was not afraid of him like he had always been. Maybe, it's the feeling of having powers beyond everyone's comprehension... Or the fact that Anthony's aspect ability had always been B graded."Me Me... you survived. I am very, very glad that you made it out in one piece.... I mean... I actually thought you were going to die, for real this time."Rime chuckled softly, his back leaning comfortably agai
Chapter 35 - Three Against One
Rime wanted to use the mask, but obviously that would be an overkill since the mask is purely making him an Ascendant who could crush the entire world with the flick of a finger. That wouldn't really be Rime using purely his skills and adaptability to survive, instead... he would be depending on borrowed power. And after that ordeal with the river of blood, he hadn't truly been able to replenish most of his mana that had been depleted so, he could already foresee how that duel will go.However, he isn't a coward which means, this duel... It will hold. "Alright, duelists, follow me. Damien and Adam, you'll watch. You'll both be the only audience."They started to move out of the mana hall. The next second, Bruce appeared out of nowhere. He wasn't around doesn't mean that he hadn't been watching. He tapped the bracelet on his wrist and three massive cores belonging to Goliath appeared and Rime's eyes brightened. "Are these goliath's mana core?"Bruce did not react nodding, "mm.""How
Chapter 36 - Dusk
That blow had come unexpectedly and the force of impact was terrifyingly great.Damien spat out blood, staring at Rime with a shocked expression on his face. "Fuck it..."His domain had actually greatly weakened him and yet that one blow could still send a person like him flying. Ken stared at the sight in abstract surprise. "I am starting to wonder if he is a Valkyrie."The moment Ken mentioned this, Anthony, Damien and Adam froze. Valkyrie??????Impossible... How long had it been since they heard of his awakening? It shouldn't be more than two weeks. Especially when they know what it means to birth a Valkyrie. "That is not possible..."Adams who couldn't help himself shouted but Ken snickered, "do not forget that your mana is still being drained or have you three admitted defeat?"Anthony stared at Rime who was staring at the pit of larve, looking quite abscentminded and intrigued."I don't accept defeat. The fact that he isn't a Valkyrie is proof enough that the three of us can
Chapter 37 - Major Crisis
Dusk approached so fast. In fact, if it wasn't for using the power of an Ascendant for three seconds he might not have noticed because, at that critical moment when the temperature had spiked and all of the mana around and within them were being evaporated, it was hard to tell within that sprawling fog.The only person who had seen Rime transform drastically had been Ken. That moment when a hundred of those blades had shot forward, wanting to cut them open, Ken had acted immediately, reducing the distance between the larva pit and the arena. Turns out, Ken is practically one of Anthony's ally in their secret organization. He had purposely never wanted Rime to win the duel against the three, and when he saw that Rime held more advantage despite also low on mana, he resorted to an immediate solution. When the arena was close to the pit, all their mana was rapidly being drained... and it is also obvious who would be left without any, which is why Rime had acted on pure impulse. He alr
Chapter 38 - Their Arrival
It seemed like the government officials had finally found and gotten the last survivals out of the other realm so now, everyone was meeting at the mana hall, preparing to hear the final speech of depature that Captain Rhodes had for them.Inside the mana hall, Bruce seemed to have disappeared to only God knows where, while Ken, Anthony, Damien and Adams watched Rime who didn't care despite knowing that they were staring. What could go wrong? His mask was already six hours active which means that, even if they ganged up on him, within that three seconds, he is practically invincible and could overwhelm, injure and even escape from them. So Rime walked to the vending machine after stealing a few dollar notes from Bruce's wallet. He bought a can of soda soon after and a fry chip... calmly eating it after spending his whole time in a realm, depending on monster meat and lake purified water... Chips isn't actually enough to satiate his hunger but a bit of human food will remind him that h
Chapter 39 - Party Prep
Rime lay down on the sleeping bag with his hands folded behind his head. He did not desire anything else other than to sleep after a long time of thrugging in the wild, exploring hell, camping and sleeping while taking turns to keep watch. Right now, it felt peaceful... no lurching in the dark, no scratching on the walls and no whispering sounds, unless of course it is your sleeping buddy that keeps whispering to you instead.Rime frowned and slowly pushed Orion away from him while saying; "You need to get yourself a girlfriend."Orion jumped up from his sleeping bag and chuckled a moment later. "And who says that I don't have a girlfriend? Her name is Ruth... she used to be a part of Echelon High school until she got transferred to Silverbuds Montessori High. We're still in touch, very much contacting except maybe for a few weeks ago, since we entered the realm."He shrugged and Rime sighed. "Then invite her over..."Orion chuckled, "do you think I haven't done that? It was always th
