“Looks like he's not going to be a hard one to get if that's the case,” Benson shrugged right after Derek completed the narration on how he killed Joshua.“What rank are you?” Valerie pointed at Derek.“B-rank, why do you care?” She moved her finger to Theodore. “And you?”“C-rank.”An exasperated sigh left Valerie's mouth, and she placed her hand on her forehead. “If someone in b-rank can kill him then why did you announce the meeting in the first place?”Adrian rose to his feet, striding towards Valerie. “Do well to look at the bigger picture here.”“There's no such thing as a bigger picture here,” she gestured towards Derek and Theodore. “Even if there was, the fact that one of them killed him already means he'll just be another walkover for me.”“What do you think about the body that disappeared?”“Don't you think someone might have the ability to clone?” Valerie asked while fighting her thoughts. “You might never know.”“You just want to excuse yourself from this place, that's w

“We don't know how long before we're launched with another batch of attack so you need to gather all the rest you can,” with Ari's hand around Gina's neck the latter carefully guided her into the room.A sigh of relief escaped Ari when she fell to the bed with her back.“Urgh.”“I expected that groan,” Gina said to Ari before walking over to where she was, pulling her injured arm out, then she began undressing the wound.“Xavier said someone needs to do this,” she whispered to Ari whose eyes were shut. “Yeah,” Ari acknowledged. “He told me he won't be doing it since the healing has already taken a toll on him, so it is what it is.”The silence went on for some time and when Gina was done undressing it she walked over to the chair where she had placed the first-aid box, taking out a roll of bandage and a pair of scissors.“Thank you for saving my life Ari,” those were the first words Gina uttered when memories of the goblins rushed in. “It was a close one.”“I really wish we had a fuc

“If they ever set their eyes on you then we’d have no other choice than to murder everyone of them,” Xavier said to Joshua between laboured breaths.Ever since he got back Joshua knew the search for him was not over, at least not anytime soon, still, he was still shocked at the fact that a clan was standing before that door, ready to annihilate everything in their way as long as they got what they wanted.‘How did they find this place?’‘How long is it going to take before another clan finds this place?’‘What is going to happen if a war eventually breaks out in this place?’With multiple waves of thoughts crashing onto joshua he held his head in his hands, shutting his eyes.“Do you think they’ll back off without a fight?” He turned to Xavier who was pacing around the room, clearly restless. “Because if I’m being honest, it doesn’t seem that way to me.”“You’re not the only one,” Xavier agreed, peeping through the door to see how things were going between his clan members and the un

The tables had turned in an instant, and Joshua was now above Eliot, pressing the shield against his face like he was trying to squash it beneath the metal. In a position of misery, Eliot managed to raise his head upward to see his teammate.Things were not looking good for his clan member either. Not when Xavier had managed to take his weapon from him. Also, Robin was yet to get back from the message he went to deliver. That being said, it meant only one thing.“Is Robin dead too?” The words came out of Eliot's mouth as a whisper, a defeated sigh escaping him.Just when his thoughts were spiralling, a sudden gasp tore through his mind, and for the second time he jerked his head towards Xavier's direction.“Sh… shit ,” his voice broke with a sob as he watched his teammate's body go limp beneath Xavier's sword. That was it.That was the sign for him to give up. For him to take his hands off the bottom of Joshua's shield.“What's… the point of fighting back?” Eliot could feel his hand
