The world pulsed beneath Bastian’s hands, a living, vibrating core of pure Aether. It wasn’t a hum; it was a song, ancient and primal, resonating deep within his bones, drowning out the frantic shouts of the Academy soldiers surging into the cavern. His Sight, no longer a golden overlay, was a blazing, incandescent white, showing him not just the geometric patterns of the column, but the very genesis of creation. “Architect!” a voice boomed, sharp with disbelief and fury. It was Captain Valerius, the silver-armored leader of the Academy squad, his pristine uniform stark against the ancient, glowing glyphs on the cavern walls. “Stand down! You are trespassing on consecrated ground!” Bastian’s eyes remained closed, lost in the symphony of the Source. He felt Camila’s presence at his side, a comforting warmth against the overwhelming cold of cosmic power. “[Consecrated b

A blinding flash of pure, crimson light erupted from Bastian’s chest, searing through his tunic and casting stark, terrifying shadows across the crumbling Academy. The light pulsed, once, twice, threatening to consume him entirely. The mountain groaned, not in fury, but in a sudden, agonizing fear, its ancient power recoiling from the destructive force now unleashed at its core. Bastian screamed, not in pain, but in sheer, unadulterated horror, as the world around him began to unravel. He wasn't just rewriting the code anymore; he was becoming the deletion protocol itself. The crimson light wasn't just around him; it was inside him, burning away the edges of his being. He felt like a program caught in a forced shutdown, his core functions dissolving. His Sight, once a tool of clarity, became a chaotic, fractured mess of red and black. He saw the structure of his own self, not as flesh and blood, but as lines of code, and they were rapidly corrupting, turni

The mountain, now a colossal, living siege engine, slammed into the spire where Halloway stood. The impact was cataclysmic, a final, crushing blow that tore through stone, steel, and desperate ambition. Halloway's scream was cut short, swallowed by the roar of the mountain and the thunderous collapse of his empire. The tallest spire, the heart of the Academy’s command, disintegrated into a cloud of dust and fractured light, consumed by the awakened earth. Bastian stood on the obsidian dais, the mountain now fully under his command, its power flowing through him, integrated into his very being. Camila, exhausted but resolute, stood beside him, her hand gripping his arm. The war was far from over, but the first decisive victory had been won. The Architect had taken control, not just of the mountain, but of his own rewritten destiny. The air around them still hummed with the aftershocks of Halloway’s obliteration, a resonance that vibrated deep within B

The silence of the void was not empty. It was a pressure, a physical weight that pressed against Bastian’s skin like the crushing depth of an ocean. The last thing he remembered was the sensation of being rewritten a sensation of every nerve ending turning into static, of every memory being stripped of its color. Now, he existed in the gray, floating in a state of suspended animation while the very fabric of reality groaned around him. Above him, if "up" even existed in this place, the sky began to tear. It wasn't a clean rip. It was the sound of a million sheets of glass shattering at once, a discordant, screeching vibration that made his teeth ache. "Bastian? Hey, you there? Don't you dare go quiet on me now." The voice was faint, drifting through the static like a signal lost in a storm. He struggled to turn his head, his body feeling as heavy as lead, as if he were encased in wet concrete.

The portal swallowed them, a rush of cold air and the sensation of being pulled through a needle’s eye, before depositing them onto a surface that felt disturbingly like cooling, semi-solid gelatin. Bastian scrambled up, his hands pressing into a floor that hummed with a low, mournful vibration. The architecture here wasn't stone or steel; it was light flickering, translucent ribbons of information that formed the walls of a cavernous, cathedral-like hall. “Bastian? You okay?” Camila’s voice was sharp, her sword out even before she’d fully oriented herself. She looked around, her eyes wide as she traced the glowing ribbons. “This doesn't look like a desert anymore. Where the hell are we?” “It’s the buffer,” Bastian whispered, his Sight struggling to map the sheer density of the data-threads. “The space between the system’s last save point and the har
