SEASON ONE- THE STRANGER IN THE DYNASTY
Chapter 1: The Jade PendantBeijing, China. October 2026.Rain hammered against the windows of the National Institute of Chinese History.Inside a small office on the seventh floor, Chen Tianyu sat surrounded by ancient manuscripts, archaeological photographs, and empty coffee cups.He stared at the image displayed on his computer screen. It showed a jade pendant discovered inside a sealed tomb beneath an abandoned mountain temple in Shaanxi Province. The pendant was shaped like a coiled dragon. Its eyes had been carved from a strange black stone, and its surface was covered with inscriptions that did not belong to any known period of Chinese writing.Tianyu enlarged the photograph. There it was again. The same symbol.A circle surrounded by nine intersecting lines. He had seen it before.Fifteen years earlier, his father had drawn the same symbol in a notebook shortly before disappearing.Tianyu leaned back in his chair. His father, Chen Guowei, had been a respected archaeologist spe

Chapter 2: A Beggar Outside Chang’anThe road to Chang’an had never seemed so terrifying.Chen Tianyu sat inside a wooden carriage, his wrists bound with rope, while four armed soldiers watched him from the corners. Outside, hundreds of soldiers marched beneath red banners, their boots splashing through the mud.He had been transported into ancient China, accused of being a mysterious man from beyond the heavens, and addressed as a prince by a stranger who claimed that people had waited three hundred years for his arrival. And he had absolutely no idea what was happening.Tianyu leaned against the carriage wall and closed his eyes.Think, Tianyu. Think. He was a historian. He understood the political structure of the Sui Dynasty, the conflicts that had weakened the imperial court, and the rebellions threatening to tear the empire apart. But none of his books had mentioned a prophecy about a man from the future.None had mentioned a prince named Chen Tianyu. And certainly none had expl

CHAPTER 3: THE BEGGAR WHO PREDICTED THE FUTUREThe jade pendant burned against Chen Tianyu’s chest. For one terrible moment, the battlefield seemed to freeze. The flames stopped flickering. The soldiers surrounding the command tent became motionless, their swords suspended in midair. Even the screams of the wounded disappeared.Only Prince Li Chenghao continued moving. He stared at Tianyu with an expression of absolute horror.“No,” he whispered again. “This cannot be happening.”Tianyu clutched the pendant beneath his robe.“What do you know about this?”Chenghao did not answer.Instead, the prince stumbled backward, shaking his head.“I watched it burn. I watched them destroy it with my own eyes.”“Who destroyed it?”Chenghao looked up sharply. His expression changed. The fear vanished, replaced by cold calculation.“Kill him!”The world erupted into motion.Three soldiers charged toward Tianyu. He barely had time to react before Princess Li Xueyan appeared from the darkness. Her sw

CHAPTER 4: THE PRINCESS IN DISGUISEThe emperor was dead.Yet the entire city of Chang’an seemed afraid to acknowledge it.Chen Tianyu stood before the enormous imperial gates, holding the sealed succession order in his trembling hands. Around him, soldiers knelt in silence while servants hurried between the towers, carrying messages that nobody dared to read aloud. The bronze bell continued ringing. Each strike announced the death of an emperor. Each strike brought the empire closer to war.And each strike reminded Tianyu that he had become part of a history that no longer followed the rules he remembered.“Lord Chen.”The elderly official in crimson silk bowed again.“We must enter the palace immediately.”Tianyu stared at him.“Why does the emperor want me on the throne?”The official’s expression tightened.“His Majesty is dead, my lord.”“That does not answer my question.”“It is not my place to question an imperial decree.”“Then whose place is it?”The official looked around ne

CHAPTER 5 - A HISTORIAN’S FIRST BATTLEThe bronze token trembled in Chen Tianyu’s palm. Its surface bore the mark of Prince Li Chenghao, but beneath the symbol, almost invisible lines formed nine characters. Tianyu recognized the pattern immediately. It was the same inscription engraved on the jade pendant that had brought him from modern Beijing to the collapsing Sui Dynasty.Nine lines.Nine symbols.Nine doors through time. But this time, the inscription was different.THE FIRST EMPEROR HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED.Tianyu stared at the words.“What does that mean?” Princess Li Xueyan whispered. Before he could answer, a bell rang somewhere inside the palace.Once.Twice.Then a third time.Zhao Wuchen had explained the meaning of the palace bells earlier that evening. One bell summoned officials. Two warned of danger.Three meant the capital was under attack.Tianyu turned toward the narrow window. Beyond the palace walls, smoke climbed into the night sky. The sound of horses thunder
