Richard felt guilty over what had happened to Elise , yet he held himself back from doing anything about the way Elise’s mother was talking to him with no regard.

“I didn’t cause her to faint, Sir” Richard tried to explain himself, looking past Susan to James. “I only rushed home and found her in such position”

“Are you sure she’s in there?” The older man pointed at the closed door of the room opposite them, ignoring his explanation.The doctor and nurses were still gathered around the patient but James and Susan could not get a better view of their daughter.

Susan glanced at her wristwatch in anger and frowned at Richard. “How long has she been in there?”

“Almost half an hour”

“You better pray that nothing happens to my daughter because if I see as much as an inch of her skin bruised, I’ll lock you up in prison”

James tried to calm her down again, seeing her wild she was growing by the minutes, he led her away from Richard.
