He clenched his fingers with anger and turned back at once to see her, his eyes were filled with an aura of killing, that made her shiver,

"What did you say?" he cried out holding her tightly with his hands forgetting how much strength he was laying on, which left a red mark on her white skin,

"Steve you are hurting me...!!" she screamed out in pain,

He loosened his grip and stood aside,

"Why...?" he asked hanging his head down, and hitting the wall in front of him.

" I don't know maybe to pull us apart, but I heard him talking to one of your companions, that he will send the money promised once the work is done"

she explained,

" do you know who that was?" he inquired to know the name of that bad egg who backstabbed him,

" No, nothing specific, I never heard any name from him,"

she heaved a sigh,

" I was forced to marry Wilson, dad was sure I won't agree if you are alive...!" she sat on a chair nearby,

" but he is good to me, I started loving him, it's just...."

He can't believe the one he loved the most is talking to him like that, he can't understand,

How could she change her heart just like that?

Is it that easy to love and that easy to forget?

And just because he wanted his daughter to marry someone rich, he can kill anyone?

He clenched his fist and hit the wall ahead, she was startled by the sound, and his hand started bleeding from the wound he had on his fist, and started walking out as he knows that if he stay there, he might do something that will be a regret for him,

She shouted from behind,

"Don't ever come in front of my dad,"

He stopped, tilting his head to her,

" Ask your dad to start counting his days..."

he warned and moved out with his rage.

She tried calling him,

"Steve....no... Steve... don't...."

but he rushed out of her house breaking all the ties and leaving behind all the feelings that he had for her, smashing the door behind him.

It was done, everything was finished in his life, all those emotions he had, he just killed them, buried them in the deepest of the sea in him, no more love no more mercy, he moved as a storm filled with resentment, anger...

he screamed out of the unbearable pain he suffered like a crazy man...

He was not himself for the whole day, he walked in the middle of the road causing a ruckus, and everyone around him started yelling at him calling him a crazy man.

He sat on the footpath for the rest of the time,

After a long when he killed his emotional self by himself, the remaining self was revenge, anger, and resentment.

He got back to his senses, which made him realize how naive he was, to believe in friends who backstabbed him and love a girl like her who was never in true love with him. Now the thing he wanted was to see those people begging for mercy before him, helplessly,

But he has to become capable to do that, what he has now is nothing but his empty hands, nothing but his desire, his anger, his hatred.

Was that enough?

He looked at his hands and thought,

What do I have to think of revenge?

What could I do to let them pay for what they did?

What right do they have to treat me like this?

After reckoning, he understood that this life is the second chance he got when he can survive this, which means he can do anything and will be supported by God.

He got up and took the train back to his place,

He went to the same bench to sleep where his companion kept the rug secure for him, with the hundred dollar bill which he left.

That lady gave him a feeling that humanity is still alive every time she does something like that.

They shared food, clothes, and all the necessities they could get among them.

That old lady was dumb, she couldn't talk but whatever she wants to say she explains with some signs and Steven understands it.

She was like a mother to him, he never had a motherly love from childhood, but looking at her gives him the feeling that he had a mother now,

Every night when he closes his eyes he remembers those painful times that he spent, making his wounds raw every day.

It reminds him of his revenge.

He worked every day looking for a change that can help him and comes back at night with empty hands.

It was not that easy.

One night he was resting on his bench when he heard some footsteps rushing toward him, he slipped his rug to see who it is, a lady was desperately looking here and there, finding a place to hide,

She looked at him and then for someone turning back, then finally, she jumped on him and covered herself in his rug.

Steven jerked and wanted to throw her away, but she has a pistol in her hand, she attached it to him and whispered in his ears in a soft voice,

"keep quiet or I'll kill you"

He was startled, why would a lady do this?

Is she interested in him?

Why is she having a pistol?

Who is she?

Just after some time, a group of goons came running that way, she tugged herself into his chest, closing her eyes,

He realized that this lady was hiding from these goons,

Who are they?

Why were they chasing her?

And who is she?

He couldn't understand but the way she was on him made him feel awkward, he couldn't take it anymore,

He pushed her away, and the goons came running to her,

"There she is....!!"

She looked at him frighteningly with fear and wrath in her gaze.

When one of the goons came near to hold her hand, Steven caught his hand tight, with force, that made him scream in pain.

The others came running as he got down from the bench and stretched his trained rock muscles to warm up, he fought with them, that woman was watching him without blinking her eyes.

His one hand was enough for them, he hit them hard, when they understood that they can't deal with him, they ran away for their lives, being injured brutally,

When he was done hitting those goons, he looked back at that lady, but she was gone, without even thanks.

Well, that was common for him nowadays, being a lowly worker, no one thanks him even if he helps.

He was used to this kind of behavior, he crawled back to his bench to complete his sleep, at least now without any disturbance.

The next day morning, his routine was normal as if nothing happened, sometimes he even thought that it might be a dream because he had been having this kind of weird dreams very often. He went to work casually to earn money to be able to rent a room to stay in.

When he was at the loading station, some huge men in black approached him suddenly and captured him, he felt dizzy as one of them applied something to his nose, maybe chloroform.

He tried resisting, but it didn't help.

Am I being kidnapped?

Are they here to kill me?

he could hardly think of that,

He was dragged to a car before he lost consciousness, what happened after that he doesn't know as he fainted.
