"What? There were players in there? I thought you said no one was left inside," the man in the suit said irritably.

"There was no one, I assure you," replied a man holding a stack of documents.

The man sighed before walking up to the pair.

"Please tell us your names. We'd like to understand what happened."

"Rin."

"Key."

The moment the man with the documents heard those names, his expression changed.

He suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said,

"Sir Richard, I remember now! According to the records, this woman disappeared during an expedition. Yes, it's the same name. And as for the boy... isn't he the one from the team that was wiped out on Floor Twenty? We even offered our condolences to his family."

The other Awakened behind them slowly approached, all wearing astonished expressions.

The man in the suit thought for a moment before asking Rin,

"How are you still alive? It's been three days since you were confirmed dead. As for the woman... she's been missing for an entire month."

"..."

"..."

Rin and the woman, who had introduced herself as Key, exchanged shocked glances.

Three days? And a whole month for her?

Damn! Not even thirty minutes had passed for us!

"It's a long story. Right now, though, we need some rest," Rin said before taking Key's hand and starting to walk.

"You were about to go in anyway, weren't you? Just continue as if nothing happened."

Richard immediately replied,

"Sorry. You're right—you need to rest. I can't even imagine what you had to go through in there."

Inside Zenith, monsters appeared twenty-four hours a day.

There was a reason it was also known as the Enemy's Refuge.

"However, we'll still need to examine you and understand exactly what happened."

Everyone around them nodded in agreement.

Seeing the puzzled expressions on Rin and Key's faces, Richard added,

"The portal behaved strangely before you appeared. We have to analyze you. It would be strange to simply let you leave after people believed you were dead."

"Besides... they've both become more attractive," the man with the documents whispered.

I understand.

Rin nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, a young man in armor rushed forward, pushing everyone aside before stopping in front of Key.

"Big sister! You're finally... You have no idea how happy I am..."

Key sighed in annoyance.

"Cut it out. I was going to come back anyway."

She walked over and stopped in front of Richard.

"Shall we begin the examination?"

Richard quickly nodded.

[ First Mission Added: Kill the boss of Floor Twenty that traumatized you. ]

[ Time Limit: 3 Days ]

[ Failure Penalty: The host will lose all Skills and Resistances and must repeat the Five Trials in the Chaotic World. ]

"..."

Rin felt his scalp tingle.

That psychopath followed me? Damn it...

He had no idea what that voice wanted from him, and that worried him.

Well... I had questions for you anyway.

And honestly, killing that boss was already part of my plan.

He let out a sigh.

"Alright. We'll cooperate with your examination. Where do we start?"

Richard sighed in relief.

"Thank you for your understanding. We'll begin by checking your class."

Inside a large room filled with various machines...

Key stood in front of one with a flat scanning platform.

Several men and women watched from nearby.

"Go ahead," Richard said with a smile.

Without hesitation, Key placed her hand on the flat surface.

The machine immediately displayed countless changing letters before finally stopping on a single result.

"B...?"

A nearby woman stared in surprise.

The man holding the documents looked equally shocked.

"But wait... according to these records, she was a C-Class before she disappeared. How is she B-Class now? Is the machine malfunctioning?"

"No."

Richard shook his head.

"This is our most reliable machine. It has never made a mistake."

He frowned thoughtfully.

"Maybe... she simply evolved while surviving inside Zenith. After all, she must have fought constantly to stay alive."

Everyone thought about it before nodding in agreement.

Rin was just as surprised.

Did they make a mistake before she disappeared?

Or did they never properly verify her level?

Now that I think about it... what exactly was that 'Stage 5' displayed on my status screen?

Not Class... Stage?

Before he had time to think further, Richard turned toward him.

"Your turn."

Key stepped aside as Rin casually walked forward.

He placed his hand on the scanner.

Letters flashed across the screen... they disappeared. And then...

Boom!

The machine exploded.

_______________

Somewhere deep within the Chaotic World...

The place Rin and Key had just left, a cloak suddenly appeared.

Nothing but a floating cape.

Moments later, it began moving as though searching for something.

It drifted to the exact location where Rin had completed the Fifth Trial.

Then a surprised male voice echoed.

"I'm certain I sensed several presences here..."

The cloak remained motionless for several seconds.

Then another voice resounded, causing the entire Chaotic World to tremble slightly.

[ What are you doing here? ]

The cloak trembled faintly before replying,

"Oh... it's you, Charly. I just sensed several presences here. Have you had visitors?"

[ No. Mind your own business. ]

Charly answered coldly, making the Chaotic World shake even more violently.

The cloak remained silent.

Twenty seconds later It disappeared.

The moment it was gone, a sigh of relief echoed throughout the entire Chaotic World.

Is there a creature here? How did it even get in there?Rin advances while asking himself questions, all while raising his hand and touching the wooden door in front of him."Is it chained?" he asks, finding it impossible that the creature couldn't easily destroy a room like this."Yes!" Amandine simply replies while slightly stepping back.Rin thinks for a moment, then asks again, "How did you capture and keep it here if you couldn't defeat it to the point of asking for my help?""It was subdued and is being kept here through a treasure belonging to our clan, and its power is limited by time," Amandine replies.Even while chained, you still can't kill it? Rin wonders as he steps back a little while looking at the wooden door, wondering whether it was a subordinate of the boss of this level or simply an ordinary creature from this place. He raises his hand, then a bolt of lightning strikes the door as his palm glows, destroying the door and making those behind him step back.Rin enter

  • A Strange Village

After the explosion ended, the entire alley was in ruins, with the ground torn apart and a large section completely gone. Yet the hooded man remained completely unharmed, standing motionless among the debris. "If only you knew our importance... if only you knew that we are the true heroes of this world," he said with a sigh. At that moment, Arthur snorted before pointing at him and asking, "Heroes? My ass! I've never seen heroes whose only goal is to speed up the end of the world." Suddenly, the hooded man burst into laughter. "We're speeding it up? Are you sure?" he asked as he laughed, clearly amused. That son of a bitch... Arthur thought inwardly. Just as he was about to speak, the hooded man continued, making him fall silent. "When humanity's worst nightmares awaken, you'll see... you'll see that even the little turtle won't be able to save you." With those words, he vanished. At the same moment, the guards at Zenith's entrance jumped down into the alley. They saw nothing

  • A battle in the night.

Rin swallowed his saliva, gathered his courage, and moved forward. After minutes of walking, he could finally hear sounds in the distance, as if two metals were colliding at the same time. The sound was coming from the end of one of the exits of this forest. He couldn't help but hurry, and once he came out, he saw what looked like a vast garden, and two fighters. A woman with long black hair, clothes made from animal skins, one part covering the upper part of her stomach and another covering the lower part of her body, stopping around her legs and almost reaching her knees. She had long ears and slightly dark skin. She was fighting a creature resembling a giant praying mantis, one meter long. An elf! thought Rin with excitement. I didn't think I would see one without even having to go far. And what kind of creature is this again? [ Mission: Accept to help this elf when she asks you to. ] Charly's voice echoed. Accept to help her when she asks me? Rin wondered while looking a

  • What Lies Within the Dark Level

Why doesn't this psychopath want to let me move forward? Damn it. Rin cursed as he looked out the window. It was already night outside. Granted, he hadn't stayed in the Chaotic World as long as the last time, but he was still surprised because it should have at least been morning or a little later than that. He put those thoughts aside and focused on his exploration of the Dark Level. Somehow, he had stopped feeling sleepy ever since he received Charly's approval. He was sure it had something to do with this "stage" thing, but he didn't bother asking. After all, he wouldn't get any answers from that psychopath anyway, he thought. He walked over and lay down on his bed. In any case, tomorrow he would be heading out alone to explore, so there was no need to leave right now and risk being disturbed. [Don't make me laugh... You really want to sleep? That's impossible!] Charly's voice echoed, making Rin question himself as he sat up slightly. "What do you mean by that?" he asked uncer

  • The Sixth Trial

Rin let out a calm sigh before focusing his gaze on the pure red sky, then shifting it back in front of him. Now that I think about it... what's in the other parts of this world? The question suddenly crossed his mind, but before he could think any further, Charly's voice echoed once again. [The trial begins!] [Trial 6: Defeat someone in a mental attack duel.] A beam of pure red light shot out from the crimson sky like a comet before crashing into the ground in front of Rin at lightning speed. He couldn't move, nor did he even have time to understand what had just happened. "What kind of trial is this?" he asked, looking completely lost. The light didn't disappear. It remained on the ground before him and slowly began to materialize... The more it took shape, the wider Rin's eyes became. It was simply an unnatural form. A creature stood there with the body of an elephant and the head of an octopus, while tentacles writhed all around it. It was a terrifying sight, and the creat

  • More trials?

Eldric, who was the closest and had been hurt the most, got to his feet at the same time as the others before raising his hand and wiping the blood flowing from his nose."What a real bastard, that boss!" Dwayne growled as he struggled to stand up."Well, we'd better move, and fast, before he starts sending his subordinates out of his dimension," Richard said as he got to his feet.Rin slowly stepped forward and asked,"Why so suddenly?""If he's an idiot, he'll take this as a provocation and attack immediately. So we have to enter before his subordinates come out," Key explained with experience, looking at the machine that had already been reduced to pieces."Alright, who will go on the first exploration? We can't all go at once. Some people have to stay behind as protectors since this is only an exploration, not a battle against the boss," George said seriously.Rin already knew that.Whenever a new level became accessible, several exploration teams would go in to gather information
