His wife.

The woman who he married for seven years.

She walked in.

She was the dirty star. The celebrated celebrity with net worth that cost millions.

She walked inside stellar like she owned the place, her stride slow, graceful, almost arrogant.

She clad..No, barely covered; Short crimson gown that stopped before her knee, leaving nothing to the imagination.

Her neckline curved too low— deliberately, styled.

Amos's world toppled. For what seemed like a heartbeat, his surrounding faded, his vision narrowing on her.

The hall hailed her name. And she actually smiled. Like she was used to it. Behind her was her bodyguard, pushing back the crowd.

Cameras flashed on her face. The hall screamed her name like she is as a blessing they'd long expected.

Wasn't she the same woman..his wife who had spoken about commitment and decency?

He blinked once. Then twice. As though he was seeing the impossible transform into reality.

Rose, their smart six year old daughter. What would her reaction be?

That her mother. The woman who she called a role model was whore. She'd built a life..a different life away from them.

His lips trembled for words which didn't come as his throat burned.

Then, still unwilling to believe the glaring reality, "Lisa!!" His voice tore through the hallway. The hall shifted. Heads turned.

Maybe it was one hell of a crazy fan of hers.

Or, maybe one of those men fantasizing to have her in bed.

Her eyes pierced through the sea of people, then it landed on him.

Her jaw dropped. Her finger vibrated so hard her designer purse clattered to the floor. Her expression was that of a kid caught stealing from the offering box in the middle of the night.

And the most devastating thing happened as she quickly recovered from the blow,

Lisa moved. She actually moved past him. Like he was a breeze. Like he was never there.

The negligence felt like a stab deep at Amos' gut. He snapped, reaching out to grab her arm "Lisa, What the heck are you doing her..." That was all he could say before her bodyguard shoved her to the ground.

Lisa didn't stop. She didn't look back. As though he was trash that wasn't supposed to be there.

Amos pinned to the floor, eyes wide in disbelief and shock. His heart raced mad. Lisa. His wife. Was that really her?

Director jack came around with his usual arrogant grin. His hands jammed in his pocket in perfect untouchable rudeness as he watched Amos like a man who had lost it all.

"Looks like you just got hit by a trailer," He said with a knowing grin.

His head tilted "Or, you got hit by our star."

Amos's head snapped up, his eyes burning laser. Everything was making sense now; Why he was specified for the dirty job. The golden message. The agreement. The threat. It was all schemed.

Schemed by the jerk..and obviously his wife! To dispose him off.

Reality dawned on Amos.

The director nodded. "Guess you just figured it," He crouched before him, adjusting his collar with cruel concern. "You're not seeing things, Voss. The hand writing is clear...champ," Mockery dripped in his voice. "That you better know your place. She's way above your league now, and a man....like you will only drag the star down."

Amos's jaw gritted so hard his gum paled. Anger burned his chest. "You..you planned all of this? You dare threaten me.... my family!" His voice cracked with anger.

Jack's laughter came sharply. "I only did an assignment, Voss," He snorted. "It was what she wanted. She knew fully well a man like you is just a deadwei....."

Amos exploded with rage. His arm swung through the air like a whip to connect with his smug grin, but Jack's bodyguard shoved him down.

"Let go of me," Amos flared, struggling to break free. "I'll kill you bastard!"

Director Jack simply brushed off invisible lints off his suit, like he was watching a child throw tantrum. He tugged the suit hem, looking at Amos with a threatening gaze now.

"Just so maybe you've forgotten where you are," He toned threateningly. " You're in Stellar. This organization is deeper than you've ever thought...and untouchable. With just a call. One call. I can have your name blacklisted on every platforms. No events. No companies. Even private individuals would reject you. I can really make you useless, Voss."

Amos broke free from the guard's hold. He stood straighter, glaring into Jack's eyes fearfully. He spat at his feet.

"Untouchable," He snorted. "Let's see how long you're going to last...Champ. You'll regret everything. Mark it."

Director Jack faltered slightly, but he recovered quickly. "Throw him out!" He barked order at the security.

The securities hearkened immediately to throw him out but Amos spun on them, eyes burning laser. "Don't you dare." He snarled, freezing them in place. The men exchange wary glances.

With one last glance at Jack— a quiet promise. Amos moved.

The air outside was cold under the harsh sunlight. The world blurred in Amos's sight as the memory of Lisa lopped. Was everything one cruel nightmare?

The woman he loved with for seven years had betrayed him, treated him worse than trash.

The magnificent building of stellar entertainment glinted in the sun— all glass and steel. It towered like his worst nightmare, each letter mocking him.

Amos stood there for 15 minutes that felt like a heartbeat— As though his world had paused. Passersby stared, mumbling something he couldn't comprehend.

Day had burned into night when Amos dragged himself home. His shoe caked with dust. A bottle of thunder-bird dangled in his hand as he swayed from the alcohol impact.

Yet the reality intoxicated more than the liquor.

He swayed across the street, stumbling into their old apartment, slamming the door shut with force he never intended.

Turning around, he froze. His daughter, Rose, sat on the floor of the condominium, her back folded against the wall. Her head hurried in her thigh, making her frame smaller.

Amos's heart twisted in his chest like coiled spring. The alcoholic effect vanishes instantly.

And again,

How would the poor girl react when she finds out about her mother. That her model was a whore.

The sheer thought of that weakened Amos.

Rose lifted her small head, woken by his footsteps.

"Dad,"
