Sophia rushed forward shaking her grandfather violently while screaming.

“Grandpa!"

She then turned to Adrian, crying.

"What did you do to him?!”

The black, viscous blood continued to trickle from Rowan Aldridge’s orifices—eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth.

It was like a scene from a horror film.

The air stank.

Malvin didn’t hesitate.

He pointed directly at Adrian.

“You monster! You killed him!” he voice was filled with manufactured rage.

He turned to the guards.

“Arrest this lunatic—NOW!”

The guards flinched but didn’t move, their gazes uncertain as they flicked between Gerald, the foul stench, and Adrian’s calm demeanor.

Adrian didn’t even flinch.

His eyes stayed locked on Rowan Aldridge’s face.

And then—

Cough.

The sound was barely audible at first.

Then it came again, stronger.

Cough! cough!

Rowan’s chest jolted forward violently.

His fingers twitched.

His lips parted, and with one final heave—

BLEEERGHH!!

He vomited out a thick stream of icy black blood onto the floor beside the

Gerald hadn’t intended to give that much at first, but since he’d already handed over a Black Dragon Gold Card, tossing in ten million woudn’t hurt.He also hoped it would silence Adrian, stopping him from asking for the moon.Adrian’s eyes drifted between the items. For a long moment, he said nothing. Then—without a word—he raised a hand. And gently pushed the check back toward Gerald. What the fuck?!The room gasped again. They were dying to trade places with Adrian. This pooy dressed man looked like he needed the money more than anything, yet he still rejected the money.Seeing Adrian reject ten million dollars like it was nothing more than a pocket tissue left the room in stunned silence.Adrian was just full of too many surprises.“I didn’t come here for money,” Adrian said, voice calm but resolute. “I came because someone begged me to save a life.”He took the Black Dragon Gold Card with two fingers and tucked it into his inner pocket.“This card… is enough.”Gerald’s hand whic

Rowan Aldridge, who was also stunned by Aldric’s display, stared at the card in his extended hand, and then, his gaze followed the card to Adrian’s face.He blinked once. Then again. That face…It wasn’t just the calm expression or the confidence. It was something else.He felt a strange familiarity.A warmth.“You…” he rasped, his voice still hoarse but filled with wonder. “You seem… familiar.”Sophia stepped aside, allowing her grandfather a clearer view. Rowan’s gaze lingered on Adrian's face, as if trying to piece together a memory buried deep in time.He squinted his eyes even further. "Are you sure we haven't met before?""I don't think so." Adrian replied simply.Where could he have met Rowan Aldridge? He had not even met his granddaughter until last night. And then—Rowan smiled.A real smile, weak but genuine. “Whatever the reason… you saved me. And for that, I am deeply grateful.”He struggled to sit upright, but Sophia gently supported him, wiping the remaining frost from

  • CHAPTER 20

Malvin gave a dry laugh, his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall like a smug spectator.“You all saw that, didn’t you?” he said loudly enough for the entire ward to hear. “That frost stopping? Must’ve been Dr. Sylvester’s work finally kicking in. Man just needed a little more time, that’s all. Am I right, Doctor?”Aldric Sylvester straightened, lifting his chin with a shred of the pride he had left.He adjusted his collar and cleared his throat.“My diagnosis was correct,” he declared firmly, though the tremor in his voice betrayed his earlier panic. “What you witnessed was merely a delayed reaction to my technique. The frost receded because of my technique not yours.”He shot a cold glare at Adrian. “But this patient’s condition… is far beyond human medicine. Even I, a Legendary Healer, must admit my hands are tied.”"If I cannot save him… what chance does a street-level amateur like him possibly have?”He spat the word like poison.“The bum's nothing but a fraud." Malvin a

Inside the VIP ward, the tension was suffocating.Monitors beeped erratically. The old man’s breath was ragged, his lips now a frightening shade of gray. Frost had spread to his fingertips and earlobes, the signs of full-body petrification setting in."Ohh God!" Gerald exclaimed as he paced like a madman near the foot of the bed, running a trembling hand through his graying hair. Every few seconds, his eyes darted toward the doorway. He regretted the way he treated Adrian and really hoped they find him.His gaze then fell on Dr. Sylvester and his eyes darkened with rage.He had once admired the doctor but now he felt like strangling him.His voice thundered in the room. “Damn it!!”He whirled on Dr. Sylvester, his face twisted in fury. “I made a huge mistake by trusting you!""You said he’d be fine! You swore this was nothing more than cold toxin!”Aldric Sylvester stood rooted near the bed, his legendary poise cracked.Sweat clung to his forehead. His lips moved, but no sound

  • CHAPTER 18- For Your Sake

Meanwhile, Adrian’d just stepped out of the hospital restroom stall. If they said they don't need his help, then so be it. It wouldn’t be his fault if that poor old man died eventually. He had already warned them and if they chose not to believe him, then that might be the old man’s fate. He splashed cold water on his face, the droplets clinging to his lashes. Just then... Riiing— His phone vibrated against the sink counter. He pulled it out. Adrian’s brow raised as he answered. A calm, polished female voice answered. “Good morning, Mr. Lancaster. This is Julia Lin, Vice President of Rhein Group.” “I wanted to formally welcome you, sir,” she said respectfully. “The news of your appointment was just made known to the board this morning. There are a few urgent matters awaiting your review… If possible, when would you be able to visit the head office?” Adrian’s lips curved into a faint, sardonic smirk. Oh, right! That old man didn’t just throw a one billion allowance an
