“I’ll take it then,” Reeves said, his expression lighting up with satisfaction. In fact, he looked almost gleeful as he turned to the staff and asked, “How do you feel after I’ve bought your dog for five million?”

“Mr. Reeves, are you serious?” the staff member stammered, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Reeves nodded confidently and wrote a check for five million dollars right away. When the staff took the check from his hand, she still seemed stunned, unable to process what was happening.

Clement was so elated that he turned to Stacey and said, “Ms. Gold, can you do me a favor? Tell your hotel staff to have the dog killed and retrieve the pill from its stomach.”

Stacey hesitated for a moment but then nodded. She quickly called two hotel employees over to take the pug away.

It was only then that everyone in the room seemed to grasp what was going on. The initial fight between Clinton and Reeves over the dog hadn’t been about the animal at all. Instead, it was about the pill the pug had

Suddenly, a commotion rippled through the crowd. “General Arin Vex is here!” someone shouted. Gasps of shock echoed across the room. Even Adam raised an eyebrow in slight surprise, and Stacey’s face turned pale. What was General Arin Vex doing in Storm City? General Arin Vex was one of the four Generals of Coastal Flair, a man whose presence alone commanded attention and respect. Known as the most powerful figure alive after the Supreme General and the other three Generals, his reputation was legendary. Few had ever seen him in person, and even fewer dared to approach him. The buzz in the hall grew louder as a massive convoy rolled up outside. Hundreds of soldiers stepped out of their individual vehicles, forming an impenetrable wall of security. At the center of it all was a black SUV, guarded by four imposing men. They moved in perfect sync, each opening a door to reveal the vehicle’s sole occupant. A man stepped out, tall and imposing, his very presence exuding authority. He lo

The crowd was stunned into silence as Arin’s words echoed through the hall. “He came for Adam? What?” someone whispered, their voice filled with disbelief. Another added, “That troublemaker must have done something to offend him. This time, he’s doomed for sure.” Gerald, his face twisted in anger and panic, pointed a shaking finger at Adam. “What have you done now, you punk!? Are you trying to bring disaster upon us?” Adam leaned back in his wheelchair, his expression as calm as ever. He chuckled softly, further infuriating Gerald. “Relax, Gerald. You’re overthinking this.” Tessa, however, was a nervous wreck. Kneeling on the floor, her trembling hands clasped together in a desperate plea, she turned to General Vex. “Please, General, I apologize on behalf of my husband. Whatever he’s done, I beg you to spare him. He meant no harm.” Arin, standing tall and imposing, raised an eyebrow in confusion. Why was everyone acting like this? He had already been briefed on Adam’s decision to

Brian struggled to his feet, his face a mix of pain and humiliation. Blood dripped from his mouth, staining his expensive suit. Wendy knelt beside him, her eyes darting between him and Arin. She hesitated, but her anger boiled over. “Adam, you think you’re untouchable just because this General is siding with you?” Wendy spat, her voice shaking. “Mark my words, the Diamond family won’t let this slide!” Adam smirked, his expression calm yet taunting. “Wendy, you should focus on helping your boyfriend before you start making threats you can’t back up.” Wendy said with disdain. "Shut up Adam!" She the. turned over to Arin. "Mr. Vex. You shouldn't be listening to him, Brain is the son on the Diamond family, he's better than this cripple —" Arin’s gaze shifted to Wendy, his face cold and unreadable. The tension in the room grew unbearable as he took a deliberate step forward. He didn't waste time in giving her a dirty slap, she collapsed on the ground her tooth flying over. "Y'all didn'

“Adam, where are you going?” Tessa asked, her voice tinged with worry as she rushed to his side. Adam turned his head slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips. It was rare to see Tessa show such concern for him, and though the moment was fleeting, he found it endearing. “Don’t worry, Tessa,” he said, his voice calm but firm. “I’ll be fine. Nothing’s going to happen. No one can harm me.” “But what if—” He raised a hand to cut her off gently. “Arin is a friend,” he assured her. “Trust me on this.” Tessa frowned, her arms crossing defensively. She wasn’t convinced. A General showing up unannounced, causing such a stir, and then requesting Adam specifically? It didn’t sit right with her. Stacey stepped forward to assist, placing her hands on the wheelchair handles. “I’ll make sure he’s safe, Mrs. Tessa,” Stacey said reassuringly. Without waiting for another word, Adam allowed Stacey to wheel him toward the convoy waiting outside. The line of black SUVs stretched down the street, t

The Armands family mansion was eerily quiet, the remnants of the extravagant birthday party lingering in the air. Despite the silence, tension brewed like a storm. Gerald slammed his hand on the dining table, his face red with fury. “That good-for-nothing man!” he roared. “He seems to bring bad luck wherever he goes. He ruined my birthday!” Brenda, standing near the fireplace, crossed her arms and chimed in, her tone sharp. “And it’s all Tessa’s fault. If she’d just divorced him like we told her, none of this would be happening. We wouldn’t have to endure the embarrassment he keeps bringing to this family.” Tessa, sitting on the far side of the room, clenched her fists. She had been silent through most of the evening, but she couldn’t hold back any longer. “This has nothing to do with Adam,” she said firmly, her voice steady. “It’s not his fault for defending himself when you all constantly try to belittle him.” Brenda spun around, her eyes blazing. “How dare you talk back to me?”

Meanwhile at a secluded office, Adam, Arin and Stacey were spotted. Arin leaned over a wooden desk, a tablet in his hand, displaying footage that made even Adam’s seasoned demeanor falter. Stacey stood by the window, her arms crossed, watching Adam with concern as he processed the gravity of the situation. The footage on the screen was harrowing—masked figures storming the presidential villa, chaos erupting as explosions lit up the night. Bodies of fallen special forces littered the ground. The insignia of the Cross-blood organization was unmistakable, splashed in blood-red across the screen. “They’re not just back,” Arin said, his voice steady but grim. “They’re stronger, more organized, and deadlier than ever before. We’ve lost too many men already.” Adam sat silently, his fingers steepled under his chin, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts. He had planned to focus on finding the last amulet, to finally bring peace to himself and Tessa. After that, he wanted nothing more

Back at the Armands mansion, tension hung in the air like a storm about to break. Tessa sat quietly in the grand living room, her face pale but resolute. Around her, the voices of her family swirled like an angry tide, each one cutting deeper than the last. She had started to think if this was really her family, not even her own parents supported her.“This has gone on long enough, Tessa!” Eleanor, her mother, snapped, slamming her hand on the armrest of her chair. “You need to divorce that man. He’s brought nothing but shame to this family!”Her father, Richard, nodded in agreement, his face stern. “Your mother’s right. Do you even realize the damage Adam has done? He’s tarnishing our reputation. You think we’ll stand for this?”Tessa clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. “Adam hasn’t done anything wrong,” she said firmly. “He’s only defended himself because all of you refuse to respect him. Adam had saved me multiple times don’t you guys always see the good side of h

The tension in the room was palpable as Adam rolled into the living room, his expression dark and commanding.“Adam?” Tessa whispered, her voice filled with worry. She wasn’t concerned for him but for Brian. She knew Adam’s temper too well. He wasn’t going to let this slide. She'd witnessed how ruthless he gets when someone tries to mess with her.Brian, however, showed no sign of remorse. He crossed his arms, glaring at Adam with disdain. “What are you going to do, cripple?” he sneered.Adam’s voice was calm, but the threat in it was unmistakable. “Touch my woman again, and you’ll regret it.”Brian scoffed, puffing out his chest. “You think I’m scared of you? If you speak to me again, I’ll hit you too. I can do whatever I want and you can't do anything about it. you're just a cripple.”From the corner, Wendy chimed in, her tone filled with malice. “You’re pathetic, Adam. A useless man who doesn’t even belong here. Why don’t you just leave and save us all the trouble?”Adam’s jaw tigh

Tessa froze as her eyes took in the blood-streaked floor, the shattered furniture, and the bodies groaning in pain. Triston’s corpse lay lifeless in the center of the hall, surrounded by armed soldiers in full tactical gear. The stench of smoke and iron filled the air. She gripped Adam’s arm tightly. “What the hell happened here?” she asked, her voice sharp with confusion and disbelief. Adam’s expression didn’t change. Calm. Cold. “I dealt with everyone who tried to hurt you.” Tessa’s heart skipped. Her gaze darted across the room. Samuel wasn’t in sight. Neither was Wendy. “Wait—where’s Wendy? And Samuel?” she asked, eyes narrowing. “Adam… don’t tell me you—” “I didn’t kill them,” Adam cut in, reading her mind. “They’re not worth that. They’ve been arrested. That’s all.” Tessa let out a shaky breath, but it didn’t ease her mind. “Adam, I thought you said you wouldn’t go this far. Wendy... she’s still my family.” Adam turned to her with a sharp look. “Family? The same ‘family’

But Adam wasn’t done.He turned to one of Hammer’s men.“Wake him up.”The soldier stepped forward with a bucket of icy water and threw it over Samuel’s face.“AHHH!” Samuel jolted upright, screaming as the pain from his shattered legs surged through his body again. “W-What… what’s happening?!”Adam stepped forward, towering above them like judgment itself.“Let’s talk, shall we?” he said, his voice calm… too calm. “About Tessa. About the little kidnapping stunt you pulled.”Wendy shook her head, fast. “We didn’t do anything! You’re making things up! I swear—”Adam pulled out his phone.
