Adam’s eyes flicked to Triston as he turned away. He was an expert at reading lips—and he caught the whispered threat clearly:

“I’ll come back and deal with you later.”

Adam didn’t flinch. He dismissed the threat with a cold smirk, like swatting away a fly.
