The howling blizzard whipped ice across the concrete courtyard of the military depot, but Ethan's focus remained locked on the holographic System map floating before his eyes.

The glowing red indicator marking Elena Rostova's location at the Central Broadcast Tower was pulsing rapidly, surrounded by a swirling swarm of crimson dots, flying Thunder-Frost Raptors.

"Miller."

Victoria ordered sharply, turning to her corporal.

"Bind the surviving mercenaries and secure the armory perimeter. We take command of the secondary snow crawler."

"Understood, Captain!"

Miller replied, rushing to execute her commands alongside the remaining soldiers.

Victoria turned back to Ethan, adjusting her tactical vest.

"The Central Broadcast Tower is three miles north, right in the direct path of the incoming Grade-4 Polar Vortex. The structure is built on an elevated steel framework, making it completely exposed to aerial beast attacks."

"Then we don't have time to waste on foot."

Ethan said. He reached out his hand toward the surviving heavy armored snow crawler that hadn't been destroyed in the blast. With a flash of spatial light, he summoned one of the pristine military snow crawlers he had harvested from the subterranean bunker below.

The massive, reinforced vehicle slammed onto the ice with a heavy thud, its dual thermal turrets glistening under the faint sunlight filtering through the storm.

"Get in."

Ethan commanded, hopping into the driver's elevated cockpit.

Victoria swung herself into the passenger seat, taking control of the turret aiming interface, while Sarah secured herself in the rear medical bay with their supplies.

Ethan slammed his foot onto the accelerator.

The heavy diesel engine roared to life, its massive steel treads gripping the frozen asphalt as the crawler smashed through the depot's outer gates and surged onto the main avenue at fifty miles per hour.

Outside, the city was transformed into a ghost town of ice and steel. Frozen skyscrapers stood like jagged tombstones against the grey sky, and abandoned vehicles lay buried under six-foot snowdrifts. But with the crawler's reinforced plow blade and Ethan's thermal aura keeping the engine block from freezing, the vehicle tore through the arctic obstacle course effortlessly.

Through the frosted windshield, the massive silhouette of the Central Broadcast Tower rose into view. The three-hundred-foot steel lattice structure towered over the northern radio district, its high-altitude transmitter dish covered in a thick layer of frost.

SCREECH!

A terrifying, high-pitched screech echoed through the storm above.

Ethan squinted through the windshield, his System vision instantly highlighting the sky. A flock of nearly twenty Thunder-Frost Raptors, mutated birds of prey with eight-foot wingspans, razor-sharp ice talons, and crackling blue electrical organs along their beaks, were circling the top floor of the broadcast tower like vultures.

One of the massive raptors plunged downward, slamming its heavy beak against the reinforced glass of the tower's top-floor control room.

CRACK!

Spiderweb fractures spread across the protective glass pane. Inside the illuminated control room, a young woman with sharp hazel eyes, wearing a heavy technician's headset and an oversized military coat, scrambled backward behind a steel server rack, clutching a portable data drive to her chest.

[TARGET ANALYSIS: Elena Rostova (Grade-S Tech & Communications Specialist).]

[STATUS: Structural Integrity of Control Room at 12%. Enemy Breach Imminent in 90 Seconds.]

"Victoria, take the roof turret!"

Ethan barked, spinning the steering wheel and drifting the ten-ton crawler into the tower's lower plaza.

"Clear the sky while I breach the elevator shaft!"

"On it!"

Victoria shouted, slapping the manual control override. The dual thermal turrets on the crawler's roof swiveled upward, unleashing a rapid stream of superheated plasma rounds into the flock of raptors above.

RAT-AT-AT-AT!

Two raptors caught in the crossfire shrieked as their icy wings melted, sending them crashing into the frozen plaza below.

Ethan didn't wait for the vehicle to come to a full stop. He kicked his door open, launching himself out into the sub-zero storm. He didn't use the stairs; stepping up to the central support pillar of the broadcast tower, he channeled his Basic Fire Affinity into his boots and palms.

FLAME!

Superheated thermal energy erupted from his hands and feet, instantly melting handholds into the steel lattice frame. Ethan scaled the vertical structure like an agile shadow, ascending fifty feet every two seconds as the howling wind screamed around his ears.

Inside the top-floor control room, the reinforced window finally gave way with a deafening shatter.

BANG!

A massive Alpha Thunder-Frost Raptor crashed through the glass, its glowing blue eyes locking onto Elena as it let out a deafening, crackling screech. Blue sparks of electricity danced across its razor-sharp beak as it raised its talons to strike her down.

Elena squeezed her eyes shut, holding the server drive tightly against her heart.

"Is this where it ends...?"

SNAP!

A blinding beam of crimson fire pierced through the broken window frame, striking the Alpha Raptor directly in the skull! The eight-hundred-degree heat detonated the bird's electrical organ in a spectacular flash of light, incinerating the beast before its body even touched the floor.

Elena opened her eyes in utter shock.

Standing in the shattered window frame, framed against the raging blizzard with his thin cotton shirt fluttering in the wind, was Ethan Vance. Glowing amber fire danced across his knuckles, and his dark eyes swept over the room with absolute authority.

"Elena Rostova?"

Ethan asked smoothly, offering her a hand.

"I believe you're looking for a reliable power grid."

But the moment lead rounds entered Ethan's thermal domain, the extreme heat softened the bullets into useless drops of molten metal that splashed harmlessly into the slush."Monster! He's a monster!"
