The shattered glass of the control room floor crunched beneath Ethan's boots as he stepped inside. Outside, Victoria’s dual thermal turrets continued to rattle across the plaza below, tearing through the remaining Thunder-Frost Raptors in brilliant flashes of superheated plasma.

Elena Rostova stared at Ethan, her breath catching in her throat. Her hazel eyes darted from his bare arms, completely unbothered by the screaming -60°C draft blowing through the shattered window,to the flickering golden embers dancing across his fingers.

"You're... the thermal anomaly from the radar.”

Elena gasped, her voice trembling slightly as she pushed herself up against the server rack.

"You climbed a three-hundred-foot frozen steel tower in less than thirty seconds."

"The elevator was out of service."

Ethan replied smoothly, walking over and offering her his hand.

"Are you injured?"

Elena hesitated for a fraction of a second before placing her hand in his. The moment her skin made contact with Ethan's palm, an overwhelming wave of gentle, soothing warmth surged through her frozen body, instantly melting the numbness in her fingers and bringing a healthy pink flush back to her cheeks.

"I'm functional."

Elena said, adjusting her headset with her free hand. She held up the high-capacity military data drive in her grip.

"I've secured the central satellite tracking node and the broad-spectrum broadcast protocols. But the tower's primary generator was destroyed by the raptors' electrical discharge. Without a power source, the automated warning system will go dark in five minutes."

Ethan looked at the central control console.

The glowing red telemetry map was still flickering, showing the massive wave of twenty thousand mutated beasts advancing from the northern tundra.

"I have all the power this tower needs."

Ethan said.

He walked over to the main power bus beneath the central console, opened the steel junction panel, and pressed his palm directly against the master intake copper leads.

FLAME!

Instead of a destructive blast, Ethan channeled his Basic Fire Affinity with refined precision, converting pure thermal energy into a steady, massive voltage stream that surged through the tower's electrical grid.

HUMMMMMM!

The dark monitors around the room instantly burst into vibrant life. The high-altitude broadcast dish atop the tower rotated into position with a heavy hydraulic hiss, sending a powerful, long-range emergency signal cutting through the storm across a fifty-mile radius.

Elena’s jaw dropped in complete, speech-less awe as she watched the diagnostic meters max out in pristine green indicators.

"Your thermal output... It's pure, stable energy! You're literally a living power plant!"

"I'm building a sanctuary in the high-rise district."

Ethan said, turning back to face her.

"I have secure shelter, radiant heating, unlimited food, and full military protection under Captain Victoria Vance. I need your mind to run our communications, radar surveillance, and defense automation."

Elena looked into Ethan's dark, resolute eyes. She was a genius technician who understood the brutal reality of the apocalypse better than anyone. Without a powerful leader to protect her, her intellect was useless against mutated beasts and ruthless warlords.

"My broadcast grid is the eyes and ears of this entire sector."

Elena said, a proud, sharp smile gracing her lips.

"If you can provide me with the hardware and the safety to keep it running, then my intelligence belongs to your kingdom, Ethan Vance."

The moment her commitment was uttered, a brilliant golden light erupted beneath their feet, weaving around them in a warm, swirling matrix.

[DING! CONSENT OBTAINED! HIGH-VALUE TARGET BOUND SUCCESSFULLY!]

[Target: Elena Rostova (Grade-S Companion — Tech & Communications Specialist).]

[Loyalty Level: 75% (Awe / Bound).]

[Companion Synergy Unlocked: Automated Radar Domain (Grants Host real-time 3D tactical radar coverage over a 10-kilometer radius, highlighting all beast swarms, Awakener power levels, and hidden resource caches).]

[System Rewards Issued:]

Item: Orbital Satellite Control Key (Grants direct authority over high-altitude reconnaissance satellites).

Feature Unlocked: Domain Defense Grid (Level 1) (Allows Host to deploy automated thermal plasma defense turrets within his base territory).

A surge of purified System energy washed over Elena, sharpening her mind and eliminating her exhaustion completely. She looked at her hands, feeling the mental clarity and heightened perception granted by the System bond.

"This energy..."

Elena whispered, looking at Ethan with deep, unshakeable devotion.

 "It's incredible."

Suddenly, the central tactical monitor flashed with a brilliant, pulsing purple border as the newly unlocked Automated Radar Domain synced with Ethan's vision.

The 3D map expanded exponentially, revealing the true scale of the approaching disaster. The vanguard of the twenty-thousand-beast megahorde wasn't just marching blindly,it was being driven south by three colossal, high-tier mutated alpha beasts known as Magma-Frost Behemoths.

Even worse, on the southern flank of the horde, a cluster of thirty armored signals appeared, moving rapidly toward Ethan's base at the penthouse high-rise.

[WARNING! TERRITORY UNDER THREAT!]

[Hostile Force Identified: Warlord Boris "The Ice-Breaker" Kogan and the Main Syndicate Army (150 Awakened Mercenaries / 3 Heavy Magma Drills).]

[Tactical Objective: Warlord Boris is taking advantage of the beast horde's distraction to breach and loot the Radiant Penthouse!]

Ethan’s eyes narrowed into slits of deadly, golden-orange flame. A cold, ruthless smile spread across his face as he looked at the radar feed.

"Boris thought he could strike my home while I was away."

Ethan whispered softly.

Victoria’s voice crackled through the comm-bead from the courtyard below.

"Ethan! The sky is clear, but radar shows heavy tracks moving toward the high-rise district!"

"I see them."

Ethan replied, turning to Elena and grabbing the primary server core, placing it safely into his spatial storage.

"Elena, pack your essential drives. We're going back to the penthouse to give Warlord Boris a grand opening."
