BROOOFFF!!!

While Draken was busy with the system, a loud explosion sound was heard from above as a creature shot out from a skyscraper and headed towards Draken from above.

Moving his gaze upwards, Draken saw what looked like a giant toad heading towards him at incredible pace. Reacting swiftly, Draken managed to leap several meters backwards, dodging the impact completely and made the toad land on the floor and caused a strong earthquake.

Draken landed gracefully meters away from the toad and examined the features.

NAME: TOAD-SPEAR TONGUE

A window screen popped up right above the toad, displaying the name.

The monster looked almost exactly like toad. The only difference was the sharp claws, two sharp fangs sticking out from it's mouth, and the gigantic size. The toad was far bigger than a truck.

'Just when i was praying for there not to be any other monster beside the boss.' Draken gritted his teeth in anger as he still stood meters away from the toad in a fighting stance.

'It looks hella strong..just how would i defeat it on my o...'

Before Draken could finish in his thoughts he saw the toad opens it's mouth wide and what looked like a green long tongue shot out like a spear and headed towards Draken in an incredible speed.

The tongue came as a surprise to Draken, not having enough time to plan out his defense move. In the last second, Draken managed to lift up both of his arms above his head to block the strike.

When the tongue connected to his arm, it pierced him like an arrow and caused blood to be drawn.

"Argh!" Draken grunted in pain as the sharp tongue pierced into his arm. The toad then pulled the tongue back and returned it back to its mouth.

'So that's what it means by Spear Tongue.' Draken clenched his right fist as blood kept flowing out of the spot the tongue dug into.

'The tongue is quite fast..maybe faster than a bullet. And the damage it deals is like that of a spear. If that should hit my head i would be a goner.' Draken pondered internally, getting in a fighting stance, his gaze fixated on the monster and his guard on high alert.

'It's trying to send out a surprise attack..sending forth the tongue when i least expect. If that's what it's trying to do, then i can't sit here and let ot have its way.' Draken clenched his fists tightly and began to charge towards the toad.

Taking a step forward, the toad opened its mouth and sent out the vicious tongue once more towards Draken's head.

'I knew it!' Draken smirked, ducking low and made the tongue miss his head by hair length. After successfully dodging the attack, Draken kept on charging forward towards the monster.

Getting in striking distance, Draken sent out his clenched fist towards monster's body.

Boom!

The punch connected neatly, but no single reaction from the monster.

'The skin is too hard that my punch is rendered useless. If only i had a weapon.' Draken then clenched his fist tightly again and attempted to punch it out but the toad stabbed it's tongue towards him.

Reacting swiftly, Draken swerved his body sideways, dodging the tongue completely.

'The tongue is it's only weapon. If the tongue is gone it's game over for it.' Draken pondered internally as he swirled his body to the right and weaved another dangerous strike from the tongue.

'Come to think of it..i have a weapon in my arsenal!'

BIRTHDAY BLADE: ADDS 2 EXTRA POINTS TO ALL STATS WHEN THE BLADE IS IN USE

The blade appeared in Draken's right hand and the two extra points were added to his stats the moment he wielded it.

The blade looked like a dagger but slightly longer and wider than a regular dagger. The dagger also curved like a bananna and the hilt had some strange markings.

'The blade features has changed..this is definitely not how i remember it.' Draken glanced at the dagger with a puzzled expression.

QUARK! QUARK

The toad croaked before letting out it's tongue once more, only this time it was much more longer and faster than before.

The tongue launched forward in an insane speed as it headed towards Draken who still stood there calmly.

When the tongue was only inches away from him, Draken tilted his dody sideways, dodging the tongue completely.

Draken didn't stopped there, he gripped the dagger firmly in his right hand and slashed it towards the tongue before the toad could pull it back in.

SLASH!

The dagger connected neatly with the tongue an sliced it clean off, causing green blood to splatter all over and the toad to whine in pain and agony.

"Time to finish it off." Draken declared as he charged towards the gigantic toad and leaped up into the air and above the toad. With Draken now above the toad, he gripped his dagger tightly with both hands and brought it down on the monster's big eyes.

Noise of agony filled the place as Draken kept pulling the dagger out and kept stabbing the toad's eyes continuously with every strength he had, until he received a notification.

YOU HAVE SLAIN A MONSTER

Draken landed back on the floor and fell on his knees breathless. His face was now covered in green blood and he was currently panting heavily.

YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE HIDDEN QUEST

YOUR REWARDS HAD ARRIVED

WILL YOU ACCEPT?

YES ,NO.1:49s

Draken glanced at the screen with a slight look of confusion.

"Hidden quest?" He mused in contemplation.

"So there was a quest for me to defeat this toad but the system didn't showed it to me. If i had ran i wonder what the punishment for failure might have been." Draken intoned with his fingers rubbing his chin.

"That timer..."

0:11s

0:8s

"If i do not accept the request before the time runs out..i don't even want to imagine what would happen." Draken's heart began to race as cold sweat trickled down his face.

0:2s

0:1s

YES

In the last second, Draken accepted the rewards.

"I wonder why it took me so long to accept it..i mean, who would take their time to accept a reward?" Draken shook his head at his stupidity ad the screen in front of him now morphed to a whole new one.

[REWARDS FOR DEFEATING YOUR FIRST MONSTER]

10 EXTRA STATS POINTS

SUPPLIES FOR THE QUEST

"Ten extra points isn't half bad." Draken smirked with a contented look.

He moved his gaze to the ground and could see a brown back pack beside his leg.

"This must be the supplies." Draken bent down to examine the bag and the content that lays within it. He pulled the zip open and began to take out the content.

"Tsk, a sweater? This place is hot as fuck, what do i possibly need a sweater for?" Draken shook his head in disappointment as he proceeds to searching the bag for more supplies

There were gloves, water bottles, socks, head warmer, a lighter. But what Draken was looking for inside wasn't found, and that was food.

If the quest should last 5 days maximum, then he would need food to replenish his strength.

And also medical kits..

"Come to think of it, my injury." Draken swiftly lifted up his sleeves and glanced at his wrist where the toad's tongue pierced him earlier, but there was no single scratch.

"Strange. I am sure the tongue pierced me right here. Why then is there no single scratch?" None of it made sense to Draken.

He was losing lot of blood earlier from the injury, and now it was gone?

"This whole thing is more strange than i anticipated." Draken dismissed the thoughts as he kept searching the bag.

"I still wonder just what's the deal with all these gloves, coat, and socks are for when there's literally two suns heating this place up." Draken lamented with a frown as he tossed the coat and socks to the ground after noticing what looked like a black flask inside the bag.

The flask was the last object inside the bag.

"What is this?" Draken mused as he took out the black flask and examined it closely.

"The aroma coming from it..what ever is inside has to be really tasty." Draken was now drooling after perceiving the aroma and he began to open the flask.

He twisted the cover and pulled it open with full force. After successfully opening the flask, he glanced inside it and all he saw was a red liquid.

"Is this blood?" Draken wondered.

  • Chapter 156: The Balance

Chapter Title: The Balance That Refuses to Kneel The pressure did not strike all at once. It built. Slow. Measured. Deliberate. The large entity did not rush forward like the unstable ones before it. It did not lash out or distort the space in chaotic bursts. Instead, it expanded its influence with precision, testing the boundaries of the framework, pressing against it in controlled waves. Jacob felt each one. Not as pain. Not as force. But as resistance. Like something was trying to rewrite the rules they had just created. Lira stood beside him, her focus sharpened to its limit. “It’s pushing without attacking,” she said. Jacob nodded. “Because it doesn’t need to.” The presence confirmed. Strategic pressure detected That was the difference. This entity understood. It had already reached a level the others were still struggling toward. It did not need to destroy the framework. It only needed to prove it was unnecessary. And slowly… It was doing exactly that. Ano

  • Chapter 155: The First Fracture Of Certainty

Chapter Title: The First Fracture of Certainty The shift was small. So small that, if Jacob had not been paying attention with every part of his awareness, he might have missed it entirely. But he did not miss it. He felt it. The large entity, the one that had stood as a symbol of absolute certainty, had changed. Not in form. Not in strength. But in something deeper. Its stillness was no longer complete. Its presence no longer perfectly rigid. A flaw had appeared. Or perhaps… An opening. Lira leaned slightly closer, her voice barely above a whisper. “It moved.” Jacob nodded. “Yeah.” The presence confirmed. Adaptive process reactivated The words echoed with a quiet significance. Because this was not just a reaction. It was a decision. The large entity pulsed again. But this time… The pulse was uneven. Not chaotic. But no longer perfectly controlled. It carried variation. And that variation spread. The entities aligned with it reacted immediately. Their ri

  • Chapter 154: Weight Of Too Many Choices

Chapter Title: The Weight of Too Many Choices The space did not descend into chaos. That would have been easier to understand. Instead, it became something far more complicated. Alive with decisions. Everywhere Jacob looked, entities moved through different stages of becoming. Some glided into stability almost effortlessly, adopting the framework as if it had always belonged to them. Others drifted in uncertainty, lingering between formation and collapse, their shapes flickering with hesitation. And then there were the ones that resisted. Not all of them in the same way. Some rejected the framework outright, pushing against it with sharp, erratic bursts of energy. Others circled it, brushing against the pattern only to pull away again, as if something within them refused to settle. The space responded to all of it. It adapted. The framework expanded naturally, adjusting its presence without forcing itself. The areas where stability increased began to feel different, smoothe

  • Chapter 153: The Ones That Refuse The Pattern

Chapter Title: The Ones That Refuse the Pattern They came in waves. Not all at once, not in a single overwhelming surge, but steadily, inevitably. Distortions emerged from the deeper expanse like fragments of a broken idea trying to piece itself together. Some were faint, barely holding shape. Others were already forming, their outlines flickering with unstable intent. And now, for the first time, there was something waiting for them. The framework. Invisible to the eye, but woven into the space itself. A quiet offering. A path toward balance, toward structure, toward something more than chaos. Jacob stood at the center of it, his breathing steady, his focus absolute. “Here they come,” Lira said under her breath. “I see them,” Jacob replied. The presence spoke. Multiple entities entering interaction range The entity added. “Behavioral divergence expected.” Jacob nodded. “Let’s see.” The first of the incoming distortions reached the outer edge of the framework. It pulsed

  • Chapter 152: the past

The horizon did not hold. It filled. Slowly at first, like mist gathering over water, the faint silhouettes continued to form. One became three, three became ten, ten stretched into dozens. Each figure wavered at the edge of reality before stepping forward and solidifying just enough to exist. Not fully alive. Not entirely gone. Something in between. Azrael stood his ground, his eyes scanning the growing crowd as his grip on Quinn tightened ever so slightly. His instincts told him to prepare for a fight. But nothing attacked. Nothing rushed him. Nothing even showed aggression. They simply… arrived. “…Yeah,” he muttered under his breath. “This is getting out of hand.” The woman beside him didn’t respond immediately. Her attention was fixed on the expanding field of figures, her expression sharper than it had ever been. “This isn’t supposed to happen,” she said quietly. Azrael smirked faintly. “You keep saying that.” Her gaze flicked to him briefly. “And you keep maki

  • Chapter 151: Echoes That Refuse to Fade

Chapter Title: Echoes That Refuse to Fade The wind did not settle. It grew. Not violently, not with the chaotic rage of a storm, but with a steady, deliberate increase that carried weight far beyond air in motion. It pressed against Azrael’s clothes, tugged lightly at his hair, and whispered across the open land with a tone that felt almost like a warning. Something had changed again. Not suddenly. Not sharply. But undeniably. Azrael stood still, his eyes fixed on the horizon as the feeling settled deeper into his bones. The world ahead looked the same, stretched wide and endless, but it no longer felt like something he could simply walk through. It felt like something that would answer back. “…You feel that too, right?” he asked. The woman didn’t hesitate this time. “Yes.” Her voice was quieter than usual, more focused. “It’s spreading.” Azrael exhaled slowly. “Yeah.” A pause. “Not just here.” His grip on Quinn tightened slightly. “Everywhere.” Quinn responded im
