Kyle's POV

The air was thick with smoke and the metallic tang of blood. Concrete crumbled beneath our boots, the streets cracked and split as if the city itself mourned its inhabitants. My pulse hammered, syncing to the rhythm of the chaos around me.

Carter’s breathing was sharp, measured, her blades flashing under the crimson light of burning vehicles. Katherine was slicing through gnashers, her movements fluid, precise, deadly. Samantha’s healing light flickered across wounded civilians, her hands glowing green, but even she was strained, sweat matting her hair to her forehead.

And me… I felt the threads of everything. Emotions, intentions, strength, pain. Every heartbeat around me sang a song I could manipulate, bend, redirect. But this time, it wasn’t just controlling momentum. I felt something deeper stirring.

A whisper inside my mind, alien and sharp, tugging at something I didn’t fully understand. It resonated with the silver energy coursing through me. Not just emotions… mo

  • Chapter 105: LIES OR REVELATION

    Kyle's POVThe world was broken at my feet. I stood in the wreckage, the air thick with the smell of smoke and something worse. Above me, tears in the sky kept opening, and from them came one-eyed monsters that landed with heavy, shaking thuds. The noise was deafening. And my friends were all down. Carter, a true fighter, was down, half buried under broken concrete. Samantha, always so tough, wasn't moving. But my eyes stuck on the other two, and a cold fear started to crawl up my throat. Katherine. She’s a caretaker. She got elected head of the school she shouldn't....... She shouldn’t be here. Her job is to help people, not fight. Why is she lying in the dirt with a weapon in her hand? It didn’t make sense. And Sophie. Sweet Sophie.   • Chapter 104: Riftstorm {pt.3}

    Kyle’s POV The plaza had become a graveyard. Smoke and fire churned upward like black storms, the ground littered with both monster and human corpses. The air was thick with dust, blood, and a lingering, unnatural ozone scent. I could feel every survivor’s heartbeat, every flicker of fear and desperation, like waves lapping against the edges of my consciousness. “Katherine! Samantha! Carter!” I bellowed. My voice carried, not just as sound, but as resonance. My powers were growing, adapting. My emotions radiated outward, amplifying speed, strength, and perception. A portal tore open above the plaza. This one wasn’t small it was massive, a jagged gash in reality. From it poured Riftspawn: grotesque, multi-limbed monstrosities with razor sharp appendages and eyes that glowed like molten cores. They hissed, screamed, and leapt toward us as if the Riftmind itself had trained them for this moment. I surged forward, fists glowing with golden energy, faster than thought. My hands col

  • Chapter 103: Riftstorm {pt.2}

    Kyle’s POV The ground shook as another portal tore open behind the plaza, a jagged wound in the sky vomiting forth monstrosities I had never seen before. Cyclops had been terrifying enough but this was something else entirely. Four new creatures emerged: Bonefiends: skeletal, almost translucent, with serrated claws that could slice reinforced steel. Mindreavers: shadowy, semi ethereal beings that crawled along rooftops and infiltrated the minds of the gifted, twisting perception. Fleshgnashers: hulking, quadrupedal beasts with gaping maws lined with jagged teeth. Shardfiends: smaller, swarm type creatures that moved like a coordinated blade through the streets. I felt my heart spike fear, yes, but exhilaration. My powers were stretching further than ever, emotions radiating outward and wrapping the battlefield like a golden shield. I could feel every creature’s intent, every flicker of thought, every shred of predatory instinct. “Katherine! Carter! Samantha! Focus the

  • Chapter 102: Riftstorm {pt.1}

    Kyle’s POV The city groaned beneath the weight of its own destruction. Smoke billowed from collapsed streets, glass shattered in jagged rain, and the night air was thick with the scent of blood. My heart beated violently in my chest, but not just from exertion my senses were alive in ways they never had been before. Emotions rippled through the air like visible waves. Fear, rage, grief, and hope hung above every survivor, flickering above heads like ethereal halos. It was overwhelming and intoxicating. The first portal tore open over the northern sector, jagged and pulsating with a sickly green light. I could feel the energy seeping through my veins before I even saw the abomination emerging. Twelve feet of muscle and bone erupted onto the street: Cyclops, their molten orange eyes scanning for prey. They weren’t alone. Smaller creatures scattered behind them Shardbacks, their jagged spines dripping with acidic liquid, and Voidclaws, sleek, black scaled predators that hissed like s

  • Chapter 101: Fractured Horizons

    The air was thick with smoke, the streets of Thorne Hallow now a smoldering tomb. I hovered over the remnants of a collapsed overpass, surveying the chaos below. Portals had multiplied, tearing jagged holes in the sky like angry wounds, and from each, monsters poured Cyclops, Shardbacks, Rippers, and new abominations I had yet to name. Their numbers were staggering and so was their coordination. But now, I could see patterns, subtle movements, and instincts I hadn’t perceived before. My powers weren’t just growing they were evolving. “Kyle!” Carter shouted from the debris strewn street, her twin blades cutting through a Ripper that had lunged at her from the shadows. She was bloodied, armor dented, but her precision was unmatched. “Portals multiplying! This isn’t sustainable!” I dropped from the overpass, landing with enough force to crack the asphalt. The kinetic shockwave sent monsters sprawling, but more poured in from the swirling portals above. My heart pounded, but I coul
