$300 was a trifle compared to what Matthew needed for housing and food while hunting for a job. After all, how could someone be so cruel as to throw him out of that enormous and wonderful mansion and then give him only $300?

Matthew didn't even blink when he first saw the mansion from behind the three-meter-high fence in front of him. It sat on a massive plot of land, more like a palace than a house, and was guarded by several security guards.

"This house is so big and looks like a castle, and I'm only given $300 by them ...?" Briana Floss flung money and a suitcase at Matthew, who murmured without pausing to look at the $300 he now held in his hand.

Ding!

Again, that sounds like it. After engaging with the system several times, Matthew discovered that the chime signified the start of the system's internal speech. And sure enough, a monitor window opened and stood before Matthew.

Hello, Matthew Wilson. The question box is now open. You can use your gained points to access the available character and point addition windows, the roulette system, and more. I'll go through your experience thus far and how you can keep learning by getting a more significant percentage each time you complete an assignment.

A temporary thing you have:

- Physical prowess: 25%

- Health: Malnutrition is seen in 48% of cases.

- Finances: The loan credit reached 480 billion dollars, and the balance increased by 0.12%, or one million fifty dollars, twenty minutes ago.

- Assets are zero.

- Insurance: 20 million dollars. However, after the Host passed away, Briana Floss took over the insurance; however, thanks to our research into the passage of time and changes in the Host, we have helped return the amount to what it was.

Matthew Wilson. You also filed for bankruptcy yesterday. Huggins Floss has taken over your business and your house, and the debt borrower charges 20% interest on each due date.

-   25 points have been earned.

-   The roulette feature becomes available once the points are 100 .]

"Wait?! I have 480 billion in debt in addition to 20% interest. System, are you serious? Where did I obtain that much cash?"

Technically speaking, the priest is the Host—not you— he is the one who owes the bill. You instantly inherit all those debts as you inhabit the Host's body. ]

"You've been talking about hosts. Why am I in this Host's body, and who is this Host?" When the monitor window appeared again, Dominic Rayn was visible to Matthew.

Dominic Rayn, a man in his third decade, was seen on the screen, but it was noted in the caption that he had perished in an accident. He was struck by a car after being forced out of his house. Dominic Rayn's spouse, Briana Floss, was childless. A father, a mother-in-law, and three jobless in-law brothers.

Dominic Rayn helped his three in-law brothers find work by hiring them for his company. Still, their hedonistic, dishonest lives placed Dominic Rayn in debt for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Axel Routhless, the heir to the Routhless family firm, which specialized in developing and purchasing land around the country, had an affair with Briana Floss, his wife after they ran up debt.

You can click on the character screen for more details about the Floss family. You can use it to solve future scenarios that you will encounter. ]

Matthew was left speechless when he realized that the Host had previously encountered many people who were merely pursuing the Host's money and things.

"Impoverished, betrayed, expelled, and now, shouldn't he have been hit by a car?" He muttered.

Correct. ] While Dominic Rayn's accident footage was shown, the system made an announcement.

Matthew could see in the film how Dominic Rayn's body was shown to have been smashed. He died quickly after his skull hit the ground so hard that it started to flow. A tragic disappearance. Dominic Rayn's car, with the number plate 7782 ZH, had just accelerated away.

"If you have footage like this, why didn't you catch the person who hit him?" Matthew enquired after spotting the car's license plate that struck Dominic Rayn.

I'm Trivia. I'm just a system that when the Host dies, I will also be disabled immediately. ]

"Then, why am I in the Host's body right now?"

It's because you both died at 15:15, at the same time and in the same way. This distracted me to the extent that I had trouble deactivating it, which caused a connection breakdown when I discovered that, in truth, your soul didn't want to die but that your body was no longer helpful. As a result, I pushed your soul into Dominic Rayn's body next to it. Your soul also allowed me to travel back an hour before your accident. ]

The accident that had killed him, Matthew remembered, had included a container car that had suddenly flipped over and hit his car, rendering it undrivable. Matthew was confident he had died after that. Even if Matthew could survive, his body could no longer be put to any purpose.

If he still has a chance to start over with the gift of a system, he will strive to do so by making amends for some of his mistakes and stopping making that person weep due to him.

"Then, why don't you resurrect Dominic Rayn to stay in his body?" Matthew asked. I hope he can negotiate a little with this system called Trivia.

I'm a Balance Unlimited System, not an immortal system that can raise humans from the dead. ]

"But you can resurrect me and make me connect to you, and then you reset the time?"

Due to my system's connection to your will to live, I cannot turn it off and move by dragging your soul into the Host's body. ]

"Just because of that?" Matthew was curious.

Even if it appears ridiculous, it actually happened. Mine contradicted itself as it prepared to shut down. However, your spirit suddenly diverted my attention and forced me to reconsider my choice. ]

"Then why didn't you choose Dominic Rayn to still be alive?"

I was only made for one Host. If the Host no longer wants to live, I should die too. ]

" Having you with him, why would Dominic Rayn choose to stay dead? Can't he still get the same chance as me?"

Matthew had a question. Since he would choose to remain alive and exact his resentments on his wife's family if he took on the identity of Dominic Rayn and had the chance to live this way. Of course, not with force, but with limitless resources and authority.

I'm just a system. Please question the features I provide and do some actions to rack up points. ]

Matthew guffawed. He knew the system was attempting to evade all of his inquiries. He did not care that he was not in his own body since what mattered most was that he was still permitted to exist.

With the help of Matthew Wilson's method, Dominic Rayn could reclaim all the things that had been taken from him in the past and earn all the money he could not do while still living. At least Matthew can atone for his past transgressions with Dominic Rayn's new body because he still remembers his prior existence.

Seaside Bay sat quiet under the pale yellow glow of the streetlamps. Through the fogged-up glass window, the ocean looked like a sheet of black silk, glinting faintly. Every so often, a wave broke against the dock with a dull thud. The air was thick with salt, coffee, and the smoky scent of grilled meat fresh from the kitchen. The three men across from Matthew hadn’t said a word. The silence was heavy. Only the faint clink of a spoon from another table broke through, swallowed again by the whisper of the sea.Victor leaned back, arms crossed, eyes locked on Matthew like he was trying to peel back the layers of whatever the hell had just come out of the man’s mouth. “You talk like someone who’s lost everything,” he murmured, voice caught between pity and suspicion. “But I’ve never seen a man that wrecked still sit that straight.”Alfonso Kerr snorted, fingers drumming on the table, phone still clutched in his hand. “I’m not buying it. The building towered above the sleek line of downtown offices, its massive glass façade catching the shimmer of early morning light. The architecture was sharp and modern, every line clean, every corner carved with precise intent. Inside, the main lobby stretched wide and grand, flanked by bold white marble columns. The pale gray marble floors gleamed so flawlessly they nearly mirrored the silhouettes of everyone who walked across them.A massive crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, scattering light in every direction, casting soft reflections across the glass walls. A delicate scent of white lilies drifted in from arrangements placed at each corner, giving the space a quiet, curated elegance.Matthew stepped inside, greeted by the crisp chill of perfectly calibrated A/C. Their mission wasn’t just some game, it was about reclaiming Dominic Rayn’s legacy, restoring his honor, and making sure his name belonged to Matthew alone, not anyone else.It was a brutal endeavor. But when Matthew recalled the deal he’d struck with Trivia, excitement sparked in his chest.
