Jokes aside, Selene quickly explained to Cale how she managed to take down the surveillance of the entire laboratory.

“A few days ago, I got my hands on a military-grade virus that infects all surveillance devices and programs connected to the same channel, granting me backdoor access to control it. With this control, I can do virtually anything I want, like disable the entire network across the whole laboratory. That is why we are here right now.”

After understanding everything, Cale smiled joyfully and, surprisingly, grabbed Selene into a tight hug.

“Good, good, good!”

“This is so good that I could kiss you right now.” Cale hugged Selene for a brief moment before finally letting go after realizing what he had done, which caused him to feel slightly awkward. He quickly calmed his emotions and then continued speaking like nothing had happened.

“So, what should we do? How are we going to lure this old fish you mentioned?”

Unbothered by Cale’s earlier action, Selene smiled and then said

Cale had gone mad, causing his powers to go out of control. Seemingly affected by his madness, the people under his control were whipped into a frenzy, causing them to act rabidly without any care for themselves. From the large abyssal rift, over ten figures climbed out and pounced on the guards standing on the other side of the rift—their numbers entirely made up of those whom Cale had captured during the ambush, those he had recently sent in before he was stabbed, and also including the guards who had been unlucky enough to fall into the rift just now when Cale had opened it. All of them were like frenzied zombies, snapping and biting at the fresh pieces of flesh before them—figuratively speaking.Be they researcher or guard, all of them attacked in any way they could, while Cale remained floating in the air, mana swirling around him like a storm that ebbed and flowed as it was consumed and replenished almost instantly, making the rift expand gradually as time passed.Noticing this,

Spurt!Feeling a sharp pain in his abdomen, Cale looked down only to see bright red blood trickling down in a gentle stream from his body, staining the hand holding the knife that was driven into his body.Pain!Shock!Pain and shock coursed through Cale’s systems like a raging fire, and in that moment, a deep fear that he had never felt before overcame him instantly at the sight of his own blood flowing out of him.“I’m going to die!”This thought came to Cale’s mind, chasing away the thrill of the battle and the high of invincibility that came from his increase in strength.Death had never seemed so close to Cale as in this moment, and faced with his own mortality for the first time, Cale panicked as his emotions spiraled out of control—and so did his powers.Argh! From the moment he was stabbed, Cale’s mind processed everything in an instant, and in the next, Cale let out a terrible scream filled with fear and malice.“Get away from me!”Cale’s eyes were red with ill intent as he l

  • Shadow Intercept

When Cale appeared again on the battlefield, he was on the other side, away from enemy lines. “That’s six,” Cale muttered to himself. During the initial scuffle, amid the commotion of the earlier ambush before the airwave that sent everyone flying had occurred, Cale had managed to send five guards into his other world, plus this one, making six that were already under his control. But Cale didn’t release them immediately; he waited for most of the guards to be taken care of before using them. This was a risky move, and Cale knew it, but he wanted to make sure that his secret was kept safe at all costs by ensuring all the guards were either taken out or controlled. He didn’t want anybody to know that he could control people simply by sending them to another world. Of course, this objective was hardly achievable in the first place. With so many guards here, each with a myriad of powers and abilities that were impossible to account for, it was wishful thinking to believe that Cale co

In that moment, Cale’s mind went back to the memory of the day when all this started—blessing day—when he had awakened. In particular, Cale remembered the graceful and agile youths who scaled up and down walls like reptiles and vaulted across roofs and the tops of buildings in defiance of gravity, like it wasn’t a thing at all.Back then, Cale had been jealous of such youths, wishing for a day when he would be like them, soaring over the skies, not through flight but through the movement of his own body. And now, that day had finally arrived. Cale, having overcome the congenital weakness of his heart and body, could finally laugh out loud at the world for his first act of defiance against fate. While Cale reveled in his newly enhanced physical prowess, the battle continued uninterrupted as the throwing stars that Cale dodged made a swift turn in the air before heading in a beeline for Cale’s exposed back.Yet Cale’s attention remained fully focused on the battle, and without thinking,

A massive airwave blasted through the enclosed space of the corridor, sending everything in a ten-meter radius around the center flying forcefully away.Bang!Crunch! The ugly sounds of bodies slamming into the walls and bones breaking rang out against a cacophony of guttural wails and screaming that gave voice to the pain everybody was feeling. But due to this, the spell of dizziness hanging over the heads of Krasin’s guards was broken.Immediately, the guards, ignoring their pain, swiftly stood up again and went on the offensive, launching a desperate counterattack at their ambushers.Amidst all this, Krasin had been knocked senseless after slamming into the wall behind him. He was lucky because a few guards behind him had absorbed most of the impact when he slammed into them before hitting the wall. Still, he couldn’t recover in time, and his eyes continued to swim with double vision from the hit.Just as Krasin’s vision was recovering and his mind was clear enough to begin thinkin

Immediately, the guard attacked, and Cale’s group quickly moved, following up with a devastating attack of their own.The other four guards pulled out their rifles and fired at the guards closest to them, taking them down immediately, while the researchers, each holding a small device, quickly threw it into the crowd, which immediately expanded into humanoid robots that swiftly attacked the remaining guards, following their preset commands. These robots were Selene’s A.G.R.C.W.’s, whose numbers had increased after her scrap with Cale before. Now there was a host of them—enough to handle a lot of opponents at the same time. But they still weren’t enough to deal with all the guards that Krasin brought along with him.Just then, a stretch of darkness appeared in the area, expanding rapidly into a giant rift in space from which Cale swiftly jumped out, appearing in the midst of everything. As soon as Cale appeared, he didn’t waste any time and swiftly threw the two guards closest to him,
