Cale’s Death*
In the world on the other side of Cale’s rifts, his entire consciousness hid, cut off from the rest of his body. As a mental projection of his physical state within the other world, Cale still maintained a connection to his physical body but he could not feel what was happening to him while he was in here. There was only a faint sense of understanding of his body’s current state and if information one what was happening to his body was sent to him without any sensations to accompany it. “Damn it!” Selene in a fit of rage threw a tablet across the room with considerable force, causing it to shatter. Her eyes blazing with unconcealed annoyance demanded of no one in particular. “How long has he been in that bloody state? It was like all of Cale’s thoughts were entirely in her with his main focus being on concern for her safety. Cale didn’t seem upset that nobody had noticed his absence or was looking for him and since Karla was the only person he thought of after finding out there was a beast tides in, it showed how important she was to him and also how lonely Cale really was.
