After some moments Daniel broke the silence, "You've beat me in every aspect."
"Why do you sound as if you're unintelligent?" Selene rolled her eyes. "Everyone knows the Crimsone Cursed paths are easier to harmonize than the Lycanthrope Cursed type." No Miss, Daniel thought inwardly. I'm the one who's not outstanding enough... "Stop with the sour expression or you're gonna make me angry," Selene faked an angry expression. "Okay, okay," Daniel smiled. "I was just upset that I didn't get the chance to harmonize the Wolfman Cursed path and advance to the corresponding Cursed path." "It's normal," Selene said. "As someone who gained the Primordial Wolf's attention and even got possessed to save the entire world, it's normal you'd feel that way." Daniel heaved a sigh as he said, "You're right. I just feel saddled with so much responsibility. I have the strong urge to become more powerful so that I would be able to protect the people I love." When Selene heard the last statement, her eyes turned moist for some moments before becoming normal. She then smiled at Daniel, "You can only achieve that with hard work." Daniel raised his eyebrows as he asked, "Why do you sound like your cousin, Orpheus?" "Maybe it's because we're of the same bloodline?" Selene raised her eyebrows as well, imitating Daniel's habit. Daniel fell into a deep thought for some moments before asking, "Can you tell me more about your Viscount abilities? I haven't gotten the chance to ask Orpheus about his Count abilities. Plus he still uses the potion control ability belonging to Viscounts so I have no way of identifying which ability belongs to Counts." He then paused before adding, "Since you hold ancient records about the Crimsone Cursed type, you should know about the Count Cursed path. Why don't you tell me as well?" For Cursed, upon advancing, they would have one or more new abilities. Not only would they have new abilities but the former ones belonging to the previous Cursed paths could be retained. This made them very dynamic in using their Cursed powers, creating terrifying effects. For example, a Wolfman could transform his arms to those of a wolf and then suddenly transform into a large Werewolf. "Oh, I see," Selene said as she stood up. "Allow me to demonstrate then." When she made the last sentence, the entire room darkened all of a sudden. But surprisingly only Daniel discovered this anomaly. Selene on the other hand remained ignorant about the anomaly as she smiled warmly at him. Ripples appeared in the room, causing the walls to be twisted and illusory. It was as if the world which they lived in had suddenly transformed into something out of a dream. But then this anomaly vanished in a few seconds as if it had never existed, making Daniel to frown deeply. "What?" Selene raised one of her eyebrows. "Why are you frowning?" "It's nothing," Daniel hurriedly shook his head. "Just remembered something unpleasant." He couldn't afford to expose to Selene that the world which they lived in was actually dreamed into existence by a 16-year old kid. How was he sure this wouldn't affect Cassio's dream, causing their world to be destroyed? Hence, he decided against telling Selene. Selene looked at her Lycanthrope boyfriend for some before saying, "Lie all you can but don't do something detrimental to yourself or me." "..." Daniel's facial muscles immediately quivered. Obviously Selene did not buy his lie. "Alright, let me tell you the abilities I've obtained as a Count," Selene said. "The main reason Orpheus didn't tell you is because he doesn't want to sell out his trumpcard to you." "I understand," Daniel said. What if they became enemies in the future? That would mean that he who had known all of Orpheus' abilities would be able to come up with an effective plan to guard against those abilities. Tsk, I shouldn't be thinking like that! Daniel immediately reprimanded himself. Orpheus is my best friend, both of us can never become enemies no matter what! Well, we can have little quarrels... Selene observed Daniel for some time before coughing, jolting Daniel out of his thoughts, "Do you wanna hear me speak or not?" "Sorry, I was immersed in my crazy thoughts of becoming enemies with Orpheus," Daniel let out a dry laughter, shamelessly revealing his thoughts to Selene. "If you had muttered those thoughts habitually then it would have been more interesting," Selene said. Daniel smiled and was about asking Selene to continue when they both heard a loud crash. Having an ominous feeling he immediately got up while telling Selene to wait for him. Then he dashed out of the room into the dark corridor. Seeing him leave the room, Selene couldn't help but sigh as she propped up her head with her hands under her chin. He's still so romantic and caring, forgetting that I can now protect myself well now... Meanwhile Daniel had already gotten to the kitchen after tracing the source of the noise here. His eyes narrowed when he saw that the cupboard was open, a bag of mushrooms lying on the floor. The golden furred cat, Caroline was happily munching on the mushrooms without realizing that Daniel was already in the kitchen. "That sucker, thinking he would be able to control me every now and then!" Caroline scoffed with her mouth filled with mushrooms. "When his mom wakes up, he'll be the one to take the blame!" This...Daniel's eyes widened in shock, not believing that Caroline would be this heartless. She was eating the mushrooms he spent a lot of money to purchase at the grocery store! "Bloody Mary," Daniel called softly, startling the cat who immediately began trying to hide the mushrooms. "D-Daniel, when did you arrive?" Caroline asked with a nervous chuckle. "Just in time to hear you say those nonsense stuffs," Daniel said. Caroline wanted to explain herself but the entire kitchen suddenly turned crimson, several pale faces appearing on the walls. Slowly Bloody Mary materialized, her eyes sharply focused on the cat. She then averted her eyes slowly, turning her head 360 degrees to look at Daniel who was behind her. "..." Daniel instantly froze, his blood boiling instantly. For some moments he thought the Specter would kill him till he remembered that she actually loved him and wouldn't do that. "I thought you said Caroline is now your pet," Daniel soon got over his initial terror. "Why don't you leash her and prevent her from destroying things in the house?" Hearing Daniel's words, Caroline's eyes couldn't help but become moist with tears as she stared at Daniel helplessly. It was as if she was saying: Why would you do something like this to me? Bloody Mary didn't speak for some moments, making Daniel become afraid that's she would take the initiative to talk about Selene. But she ultimately didn't do that and reached out her right hand, bloody threads weaving around Caroline instantly. "Daniel, please tell her—" Caroline's pleas were drowned by the bloody threads which covered her mouth. Before she could even say anything she was covered by a bloody mist and vanished into thin air. Creak! A bloody door opened in front of Bloody Mary, leading into an illusory world. Turning her head to the front, she said, "I'm taking her to the spirit world to play." Bang! With those words she walked into the door, causing it to slam shut when she had passed through. It then turned illusory before vanishing out of sight. Pheew...Daniel heaved a sigh of relief as he wiped several beads of sweat from his forehead. Thankfully, Caroline messed up and gave me the chance to lead Bloody Mary out of my body to the spirit world. Now I wouldn't have to fear that she would strangle me if I get too close to Selene... "Hehe," Daniel chuckled to himself. "I'm really a genius." He then cleaned up the kitchen before returning to his bedroom. He met Selene playing with a red liquid which was floating in the air. He immediately said, "Please enlighten me. I've already dealt with the anomaly." Selene nodded before saying, "Viscounts have the ability to create potions for various uses. These potions can have scientific or mystical properties, achieving insane effects. That been said, we store these potions in vials and carry them around." After saying this the red liquid fell on her body, causing several vials to be revealed. Obviously she had used a potion to conceal the items she was carrying. These vials were stuck to her body as if some telekinetic field was keeping them in place. After revealing the vials to Daniel, she continued, "In addition to that, we possess strategic thinking which allows us to prepare for battle, making us difficult to be defeated, captured or killed..." Orpheus killed a couple of Viscount back then...Daniel thought within himself but didn't open his mouth to say it directly. He was paying deep attention to Selene and couldn't afford to be distracted. "Viscounts also possess luck which allows us to be successful in businesses," Selene said. "Tsk, the main reason I went to Moon City was to start a business." "You've already started a business?" Daniel asked. "No," Selene replied. "I'm working in the Rodolfo Empire which is headed by Orpheus. It has a branch in Moon City." "Oh," Daniel came to the realization. "No wonder you're almost harmonizing." "Yeah," Selene said. "You're sharp." Miss, I'm way more intelligent than you, Daniel thought within himself. Even that late Wizard, Smith acknowledged me for being almost as intelligent as him... It had to be known that Wizards were more intelligent than other Cursed. They possessed a high IQ, making them superior to even the most intelligent human. "Let's talk about Counts now so that you'd be able to know about Orpheus' abilities," Selene said. "When you guys get to work together again you'd be able to have an overall idea of abilities." "We already worked together this night," Daniel muttered inaudibly. "He even resolved the mass mutation that could have killed me." "A Count can manipulate their own blood, using it for regenerative healing, resurrection and Puppeteering," Selene said. "Puppeteering?" Daniel narrowed his eyes. "It seems like what Dracula had tried doing to us back then." "Dracula's own is very advanced," Selene said seriously. "He was a Path six, Crimson King after all before his death." "Oh," Daniel nodded. He had thought Dracula had just held the title of 'Crimson King'. He didn't know that Crimson King was the name the Path six of the Crimsone Cursed type. "Once the blood of Counts comes in contact with targets, they can rapidly use it to transform the targets into thoughtless puppets," Selene said. "Also they can store their blood in several places and use them to resurrect once they are killed. If these drops of blood are not destroyed or affected using a special ability, then a Count cannot truly die." "This..." Daniel couldn't help but narrow his eyes in shock. "Doesn't this make Orpheus an immortal? Coupled with his strategic thinking, he wouldn't be killed no matter what!" "Are you wishing for him to die?" Selene joked. "No Ma'am," Daniel chuckled. "Please continue." "Counts possess an ability called Affluence which can only be used to a little degree to give orders to people," Selene explained. Daniel already knew this one so he didn't so much surprise. After seeing that Selene was done he asked, "Do you have the corresponding ancient records on Lycanthropes?" "Yes," Selene replied. "They're our mortal enemies." "..." Daniel immediately swiftly diverted the topic, "Can I ask you of a favour?" "Sure," Selene replied. "As long as it doesn't involve us doing a threesome, it's okay by me." "..." Again, Daniel was stumped. Afterwards he controlled his emotions and asked, "Can you get the corresponding Path three information for me?" "No problem," Selene replied. "When I get to the Rodolfo Manor I'd do just that." Pheew...Daniel heaved a sigh of relief. Now I have taken a step towards becoming more powerful...

That was the first thing his instinct told him—to turn around and run without even looking back for once.Whatever creature had made that noise wasn't normal. Perhaps it was even on the level with the Primordial Giant who had attacked them earlier. And even if it wasn't on the same level, it wouldn't be too weaker than the Path six Cursed. He would have turned back if not for the giant mosquitoes on his tail. They numbered up to millions and were chasing him relentlessly. All of them were attracted to the divine aura he had on him. But he didn't know that because—even though he was surrounded by Cursed—he didn't have much knowledge about things like that. Chapter Thirty eight: More Revelations
Daniel spent a couple of minutes thinking about what Raphael had just told him. The revelation that had been given to him by the Archangel was very dreadful. It gripped his heart, threatening to collapse it in an abyssal tantrum of emotions. Perhaps if he had not being a Lycanthrope then he would have really become irrational as a result of this. And I've being living all my life thinking that everything has been settled, he thought within himself. I'd thought that there was nothing else left again after Abyss' plan of descending to the Cosmos got foiled. He took a deep breath, imagining the scene of Furs taking over his body. It was very harrowing, sending chills all over his body. Chapter Thirty five: Angelic Clash
There were a series of explosive sounds which spread throughout the entirety of the Garden of Eden, sending countless outbursts of shockwaves. Time and space continued to warp, chaos infecting every other concept that existed within this metaphysical realm. With the tremendous impact caused by the clash between Michael and Adam the entire metaphysical realm would have been destroyed instantly. But then it only suffered from heavy earthquakes and nothing more. Not even one organism was destroyed from the impact much less the entire metaphysical realm. And the reason for this was simple. The Garden of Eden was a metaphysical realm which embodied light, chaos and war. It was fraught with so many paradoxes—submerged in chaos. It was also the origin of the Physical Cosmos and everything within. Space, time, laws, life, death and other concepts within the Physical Cosmos were birthed from this realm. So how was the battle of two Archangels supposed to affect a realm with so much symbolism?
